Chapter 1419: Lying in Wait for Him
Chapter 1419 -1519: Lying in Wait for Him
Back then, when the whole world thought Adrian Walyon was gone, he appeared before her in the identity of Watt Bennet, and Summer Sutton recognized him immediately.
Even if it was just a back view, or simply the warmth of his palm.
But if it were Adrian Walyon, there’s no reason he wouldn’t tell her about this.
Summer Sutton thought about it over and over and couldn’t figure it out.
Just as she was ready to continue investigating, the assistant’s voice suddenly echoed from the corridor.
“Shush, shush, shush!” Fearful that Summer Sutton’s presence might disturb the people inside the meeting room, the assistant kept gesturing for silence.
Summer Sutton hadn’t recovered from her recent discovery, she turned her head and looked at him with a somewhat wooden expression.
The assistant quickly walked over, took her arm, and headed towards the direction of the main office.
Once away from the meeting room, as they walked, the assistant started to nag her, “Oh dear, Miss Sutton, I already told you, it’s dangerous to go to the meeting room. Do you know how risky it was just now? If the President finds out, dismissal is certain, and no one will be able to protect you.”
The young man, about twenty-three or twenty-four, without any airs of a senior, was earnestly advising Summer Sutton.
He was good-hearted, and Summer Sutton feared implicating him, feeling guilty once she gathered her thoughts.
“I understand, I won’t go there next time.” She bowed her head, admitting her mistake sincerely.
“Alright, alright, it’s good you weren’t caught. It’s almost time to clock off. Go tidy up your desk and head home early!” The male assistant couldn’t bring himself to say more, comforted her briefly, and left.
Summer Sutton returned to her own desk, quickly organized the messy materials, sat for a few minutes, and dashed out of the office building as soon as it was clock-off time.
She moved swiftly, like she had something urgent to do.
After leaving the office building, she went straight to the parking lot.
Finding a dark corner, Summer Sutton’s eyes fixed unblinkingly on the crowd of people coming to the parking lot.
She was waiting for the President to arrive here.
However, after almost an hour, with all company employees gone, the building lights turned off, she still hadn’t caught sight of him.
Feeling gloomy, Summer Sutton walked to the road, intending to hail a taxi home, then recalled the figure she saw in the meeting room that afternoon.
Taking out her phone, she gazed at the screen quietly for a moment, then made a call to Watt Bennet.
The call connected quickly, within just a few seconds, Watt’s distinct, deep voice came through, “Where are you? Finished work? I’ll come pick you up.”
“I’m outside the company building,” Summer Sutton said.
“Alright, wait for me, I’ll be there in twenty minutes.” Watt ended the call with a sentence.
Summer Sutton put her phone away and stood quietly at the roadside waiting.
In less than twenty minutes, Watt’s car appeared before her.
Today, he was wearing a gray suit, fashionably tailored, Armani.
It wasn’t the color of the suit the man she saw in the meeting room was wearing that afternoon.
Since Watt got out of bed, Summer Sutton had been staring at him, her gaze tangled in his clothes, furrowing her eyebrows as if conflicted by something.
Her demeanor made Watt pause slightly, “What’s wrong?”
“Have you been wearing this suit all day?” Summer Sutton tried to ask.
“Yes.” Watt replied to her indifferently, his gaze toward her was somewhat peculiar, “Don’t like it?”
“No.” Summer Sutton gathered her thoughts, feeling a bit disappointed as she got into the car ahead of him.
