Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!
Chapter 1432: The Legitimate Heir
His goal was simple: he wanted everyone to know that the Sutton Clan Group now belonged to Summer Sutton.
Summer Sutton is the rightful heir of the Sutton Clan!
The Sutton Clan Group has been roundabout, but now it’s back in the hands of the Suttons!
Summer Sutton was very happy tonight. She originally wanted to have some champagne, but Watt Bennet knew her stomach had been upset recently, so he didn’t allow it, only offering her juice throughout.
Juice is okay—it’s the celebration that counts.
She clinked glasses with Watt Bennet, drank a glass of juice, and was about to chat with the guests present when a figure suddenly walked slowly in at the hotel entrance.
It was a woman whose beauty was beyond words, a middle-aged woman. Her steps were slow, and from the moment she appeared, Summer Sutton knew she was staring at her.
As the woman slowly approached and her face became clear, Summer Sutton felt a pang of surprise.
Summer Sutton did not know this woman’s identity or why she appeared here. She had no idea.
Ruth Wynn looked her up and down for quite a while, inspecting again and again, a hint of bitterness pulling at the corner of her lips.
Summer Sutton stiffly let her examine her, not understanding the meaning in her eyes.
Why is she looking at me like this?
Vaguely, she seemed to think that this woman’s eyes were somewhat red.
Ruth Wynn watched her for quite some time, her voice choked, “Your name is… Summer? Summer Sutton?”
A probing inquiry, asked somewhat cautiously, as if afraid Summer Sutton’s next answer would be no.
Summer Sutton nodded lightly.
“Daddy left when you were five?” Ruth Wynn’s eyes suddenly welled up.
Summer Sutton nodded again.
There were many people around, and all eyes were trained on the two of them.
Watt Bennet was also watching the two, his gaze lingering on Ruth Wynn’s face before shifting to Summer Sutton’s.
After pondering for a moment, he instantly understood.
Summer Sutton and Ruth Wynn resembled each other—the eyebrows, the face shape were similar, especially the shape of the eyes, as if carved from the same mold, not to mention the aura.
Ruth Wynn, regardless of the many people present, watched Summer Sutton while suddenly bursting into tears.
Her sobbing was loud and heart-wrenching, filled with deep guilt and self-blame, not caring about appearances one bit, crying for a long, long time, until she was out of breath. Watt Bennet arranged for her and Summer Sutton to enter a lounge.
Once inside, Ruth Wynn continued to cry, alone on the sofa, as if she wanted to cry out all the bitterness and helplessness she had faced over the past twenty years.
And it wasn’t clear how long it took before she lifted her swollen eyes, hoarsely uttering, “Summer, I am your mother! Summer…”
In Summer Sutton’s memories from childhood, there was never a trace of her mother, nor had she ever imagined what her mother would look like.
Just as Ruth Wynn suddenly appeared before her today, she too had never imagined such a thing.
“Mom…” She murmured the word, and when Summer Sutton said these two words, she felt extremely unfamiliar.
“Yes, I am your mother! I left when you were just a few months old; I failed to fulfill the duty of a mother. I know, you must hate me, right?” Ruth Wynn said, and then she started crying again, “I know, I know! You hate me… You go ahead and hate me, it’s okay. I came here tonight because I saw the news. When I learned about your identity, I couldn’t stop myself; I couldn’t control the urge to see you… boo hoo…”
