Chapter 1433: The Reason for Leaving Back Then

She cried for a long, long time, speaking as she cried, her tears soaking the sofa.

The guilt and remorse she felt toward Summer Sutton could actually be seen from the tears and the words she spoke.

Summer Sutton, having lost her beloved father since childhood and later her grandfather, was used to being independent and actually felt no hatred towards Ruth Wynn.

To her, her mother was an optional presence.

Ruth Wynn’s appearance tonight didn’t stir much emotion in her heart, nor did she resent her much.

Compared to Ruth Wynn, Summer Sutton remained much calmer, “Madam, I just want to know why you left Dad and me back then?”

That single “Madam” was enough to nearly shatter Ruth Wynn’s heart.

Her face slowly lifted, and recalling those past events, her voice choked up again, “The marriage between your dad and me was never recognized by your grandfather. He wanted me to marry into a big family in Europe, even accepting the other party’s betrothal gifts over twenty years ago, but I secretly registered the marriage with your dad and had you. Your grandfather was so provoked by this that he later called to threaten me to return, saying that if I didn’t leave, he would find ways to ruin your dad’s company and him! You don’t know the power your grandfather had; he would certainly carry out what he said, sob sob…”

Ruth Wynn started crying again as she spoke, her sobs heard, like shards of glass cutting into one’s heart.

Summer Sutton had once imagined the reasons for her mother’s departure; she had considered countless possibilities, yet she never expected the truth to be like this.

She suddenly understood why her father never resented her mother, but instead taught her with an always gentle heart, giving her so much love.

Summer Sutton’s originally calm heart, upon hearing Ruth Wynn’s words, seemed to be stirred by the wind, slowly rippling outwards.

Wasn’t she a child who didn’t lack parental love?

She did have a mother; her mother always loved her, it was just that she was forced to be separated from her due to family power, right?

Ruth Wynn was still crying, not even knowing how long she had cried, until her voice became hoarse, her strength waned, and she slowly stood up.

She had never hoped that Summer Sutton would forgive her; with her head slightly bowed, she used a handkerchief to cover her disheveled face, and hastily left the lounge.

Watt Bennet watched her figure depart, and after she was far away, he turned to look at Summer Sutton beside him.

Summer Sutton’s body was stiff, just staring blankly in the direction Ruth Wynn left, still in a daze.

Watt Bennet didn’t know what she was feeling at the moment; he raised his arm and tenderly pulled her into a hug.

“It’s late, we should go back!” Without mentioning Ruth Wynn, he held her and walked out of the hotel.

…

Ryan Walyon worked overtime a bit tonight, only leaving the Walyon Clan Group building at ten-thirty.

Walking out of the company building, just as he was about to get into his car, a vehicle suddenly blocked his car.

Ryan Walyon was momentarily stunned, raised his face to see clearly the person inside the car, and was taken aback again.

“Let’s talk! You can get answers to what you want to know from me.” Lorraine Hughes pushed open the car door and got out, not even asking for his consent, and opened his car door to get in.

Ryan Walyon hesitated for a moment, then got into the car.

He started the car and drove towards a quiet western restaurant in the city. After entering the restaurant, he chose a secluded corner; without ordering food, he just stared fixedly at Lorraine Hughes.

“What do you want to say?”
