Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!
Chapter 1434: If You Can’t Have It, Destroy It
Lorraine Hughes slowly lifted her face, staring at him steadily, and without any struggle, she articulated each word, “You must have suspected Watt Bennet’s identity, right? You guessed correctly, Watt Bennet is Adrian Walyon!”
Clang!
Ryan Walyon’s hand holding the spoon trembled slightly, his gaze slanted towards her, as if he had been shocked by her words.
“There’s no need to doubt what I’m saying now, I saw the face beneath his mask a long time ago.” Lorraine Hughes continued, ignoring his reaction.
Ryan Walyon listened quietly to her words, the knuckles of the hand holding the spoon turning white.
“I don’t know what happened to Adrian Walyon back then, but if he returns to the Walyon Family, what he’ll mean to you is something any sensible person can figure out.” Lorraine Hughes glanced at his reaction, a cold smile gently tugging at the corner of her mouth.
Ryan Walyon was silent for a while after her words; the quiet between them lasted for several minutes before he slowly lifted his face.
Looking calmly at the woman sitting opposite him, there was no longer any ripple in his eyes, “Why tell me this? I remember you also once aspired to enter the Walyon Family.”
The smile on Lorraine Hughes’s lips froze, and her gaze slowly chilled.
“That was in the past.” She’s not that na?ve anymore.
She actually realized early on that Adrian Walyon was always a man she could never have. Despite all she once gave, what did she receive?
A man she could never obtain; why should she help other women guard him?
On the contrary, if anything happened to Adrian Walyon, and Summer Sutton’s only support fell, it would be much easier for her to deal with Summer Sutton!
She didn’t answer Ryan Walyon directly, but a few days ago, Mother Hughes had an accident; Ryan Walyon could actually surmise that Lorraine Hughes was now blinded by hatred.
Regardless, the words she came to tell him today resolved the puzzles that had been vexing him for so long.
“I understand. There are still things to do, so I’ll leave first.” Not intending to linger on the scene, Ryan Walyon stood up, paid the bill, and left the café.
…
Since Summer Sutton returned from the celebratory banquet, she hadn’t slept at all.
Her mind kept revolving around the words Ruth Wynn said tonight.
Before Ruth Wynn’s explanation, she truly felt nothing for the word ‘mother.’
But upon hearing the reason for her departure, she couldn’t calm her emotions.
For a long time, she thought the only person closest to her in this world was Adrian Walyon.
In the future, adding her and Adrian Walyon’s child.
However, Ruth Wynn’s appearance made her realize she had another close kin, a blood relative she couldn’t sever ties with.
Children who grow up lacking love, inherently long for it.
Summer Sutton was no exception.
Watt Bennet likely sensed her thoughts, gently holding her and soothingly patting her back, “Old Master Wynn seemed to have passed away a couple of years ago; there shouldn’t be anyone stopping you from reuniting. If you want to see her, I can have someone arrange a meeting for you some other day?”
“No need.” Summer Sutton shook her head slightly, smiling a little.
If Ruth Wynn cared, why would Watt Bennet need to arrange a meeting?
Summer Sutton believed she would come to see her again.
“It’s late, let’s sleep!” Watt Bennet didn’t say more about it, holding her as he closed his eyes.
