Chapter 1435: Never Hated You

  • Next Chapter

Summer Sutton was correct; for the next few days after work, a black luxury car was always parked outside the company building, about a hundred meters from the doorway.

The person inside the car quietly watched the people coming and going from the entrance without getting out, seemingly afraid of disturbing anyone there.

A week later, Northtown was covered in snow.

When Summer Sutton stepped out of the company, she was dressed somewhat lightly.

As soon as she set one foot outside the building, the cold air hit her, forcing her to retreat.

She took out her phone intending to call Watt Bennet, but before dialing, she froze when she caught sight of a frail figure standing in the vast snowy landscape not far away.

Ruth Wynn, as usual, appeared outside the building before Summer finished her shift, waiting for her.

She didn’t ask for much, perhaps she simply wanted to see Summer Sutton, to know if she was having a good day.

At that time, the snow was unusually heavy, hitting like icy shards, accumulating thickly on the ground.

Ruth Wynn stood there quietly, holding a thick warm coat, watching Summer Sutton for quite a while, a bit like before yet hesitant.

She feared Summer Sutton would reject her and refuse to see her.

After much struggle, she eventually walked towards Summer, holding the coat.

“Summer…” Ruth Wynn called softly, her voice trembling, “It’s cold today, I’m worried you’ll be cold, so I brought a coat.”

She wrapped the coat around Summer Sutton and immediately turned towards her car, as if afraid Summer would refuse her kindness.

She was not wearing much either; her clothes were soaked from the falling snow, evidence that she stood there for a long time.

In such chilly weather, Summer Sutton had barely stepped out before she couldn’t stand the cold, yet Ruth seemed unaffected, her face red and her hands stiff without realizing.

Summer Sutton quietly stared at the fragile figure in the snow who seemed as if she would collapse any moment, watching for a long, long time. As Ruth Wynn walked far away, ready to get into the car, Summer suddenly shouted, “Mom, I don’t hate you!”

As if afraid Ruth Wynn didn’t hear, she added, “Never hated! I love everyone who loves Dad!”

Ruth Wynn’s action halted, frozen in disbelief, wondering if she heard wrong.

She was stunned for quite a while before slowly turning her face to look incredulously at Summer Sutton.

She called her mom…

She just called her mom!

Ruth Wynn never imagined she’d hear her biological daughter call her that again, nor did she dare hope for Summer Sutton’s forgiveness.

Approaching Summer was her attempt at atonement.

But just now, Summer said she held no hatred toward her.

Her daughter…

Warmth filled Ruth Wynn’s chest as she stared at Summer Sutton, tears streaming uncontrollably.

This was outside the company entrance, with many people passing by, yet she seemed to forget, for the second time in public, Ruth Wynn cried inconsolably.

Watt Bennet slowly walked over from not far away, holding an umbrella over Summer Sutton’s head, gently hugging her, smiling at her.

The way things unfolded was unforeseen, but he was glad to see it.

Anyhow, there’s one more person in the world who loves Summer Sutton!
