Chapter 1436: The Most Wonderful Gift

  • Next Chapter

When I returned to the Scenic Garden, it was already quite late.

Thinking that Summer Sutton must have been chilled, Watt Bennet had seafood hotpot prepared for dinner.

On a snowy day, two people sitting at the dining table, watching the snow while cooking food, just the thought of it felt wonderful.

Summer Sutton was very happy when she heard about the hotpot, however, when Watt Bennet had everything cooked and piled into her bowl, Summer suddenly lost all her appetite.

She barely ate anything for dinner.

When she was about to go upstairs after dinner, she vomited again.

This wasn’t the first time she’d thrown up these days, and it often happened during meals.

Summer Sutton locked herself in the bathroom, staring at her pale face in the makeup mirror for a long while, her mind seemed to be lightly tapped by something.

“Honey, I’m going out for a bit!” Without explaining anything, she opened the bathroom door and strode towards the parking area.

Watt Bennet watched in the direction she left, furrowing his brow.

Where was she going? Didn’t even let him drive her.

A free driver and she wouldn’t even take it!

Speechless towards Summer, yet Watt Bennet didn’t mind much.

He assumed Summer was off to meet with Ariella Sawyer.

Generally, Summer would not let him accompany her on such occasions.

…

After leaving Scenic Garden, Summer Sutton drove straight to the nearest hospital.

Once there, she found a doctor, did a series of tests, and the moment she received the test report, her hands shook slightly with excitement.

After waiting so long, she finally awaited this day!

…

The next day, Watt Bennet received a dinner invitation from Ryan Walyon.

It was very sudden, without any warning, the invitation was directly delivered to Watt Bennet’s office at Morningview Group.

The nature of the dinner wasn’t disclosed, and the location was chosen rather uniquely, at a resort.

Watt Bennet held the invitation, pondering over it repeatedly for half a day, clenching the invitation tightly.

At four in the afternoon, Summer Sutton called him.

On the phone, her voice sounded a bit excited, “Adrian, I got off work early today. You’re still at Morningview, right? I’m coming over to see you!”

Her being this happy, Watt Bennet speculated there must be something joyous she wanted to share with him.

Despite having plans later with Ryan Walyon, Watt Bennet still asked her to come over.

“I’m here, I’ll have the driver pick you up!” he smiled and hung up the phone.

Summer Sutton arrived at the Morningview Group before five o’clock.

Today, she was dressed much warmer than usual, wearing a woolen sweater with a fluffy coat over it, fluffy shoes, and even a fluffy hat.

Standing in the office, she looked young like a high school girl who just walked out.

Seeing Watt Bennet, she gave him a sweet smile and gently hugged him with open arms.

“Adrian, I’m really happy today!”

“Really?” Watt Bennet curled his lips, worried she might get warm in the heated office, he helped her remove her hat and coat, “What happened?”

“I’ll tell you at dinner later,” Summer Sutton didn’t answer directly and turned aside to find a book to read, but Watt Bennet unexpectedly said, “Summer, later, I have plans with Jimmy Evans.”

Summer Sutton paused, her hand stopped flipping the book, not quite understanding what was happening tonight.

“Why are you meeting up with him?”

“It’s nothing, just a simple meal,” Watt Bennet said casually.
