The two of them just silently embraced in the office. As the agreed time approached, Watt Bennet slowly let go of Summer Sutton.

“I understand. I will always come back safely, back to you and the baby!” After solemnly making a promise to her, his cold lips gently kissed Summer Sutton’s forehead. He looked at her deeply once more before Watt Bennet opened the office door and left.

Once he left, he never looked back, as if fearing that another glance at Summer Sutton would make him turn around and stay by her side.

Summer Sutton’s gaze followed his movement, watching him walk out of the large office, watching him enter the elevator, and even watching as he got in the car downstairs, until his car vanished from sight. Only then did she slowly withdraw her gaze.

At this time, Morningview’s working hours were over, and Watt Bennet’s assistant was waiting outside to take her back.

“Let’s go!” Summer Sutton said indifferently to the assistant and entered the elevator first.

A little past five, it was just the rush hour, and to avoid traffic jams, the assistant chose all the empty side roads to drive on.

Sitting in the car, Summer Sutton couldn’t calm her heart, thinking about Watt Bennet.

A year ago, Adrian Walyon already had an accident with his plane, and Summer Sutton feared a similar incident might happen again!

As she was deep in thought, a sudden commotion came from ahead.

Before Summer Sutton could react, the assistant’s voice came first, “Young Madam, it seems they’re coming for us.”

Summer Sutton was slightly startled, her face lifting in shock.

In front of the car she was in, there was another car. The road was already a small, one-way street, and the car in front blocked her path tightly.

In the front seat sat two men in black suits, who glanced at her inside the car, and the two inside got out.

“Someone doesn’t want you alive in this world!” The cold words were uttered as the two men approached Summer Sutton, raising the guns in their hands.

Bam!

A gunshot rang out, and the tire of Summer Sutton’s car burst.

Bam bam!

Two more shots followed, and the windshield in front of Summer Sutton was pierced by bullets.

The events unfolded too suddenly, too swiftly, leaving Summer Sutton’s mind blank.

Staring blankly at the dark gun barrels of the two men ahead, she didn’t even have time to react.

The men in front had already pulled the trigger, ready to fire a third shot.

The direction the guns were aimed at was the back seat where Summer Sutton was.

A white flash crossed Summer Sutton’s mind, and in that instant, the world in front of her went dark.

Bam bam!

The sound of gunfire outside the window rang out for the third time, and then everything went silent.

Summer Sutton lay stiffly on the seat, unable to regain her senses for a long time.

The anticipated pain did not come.

The two men in black before the car had fallen.

What was going on?

Just as she was confused, a familiar voice suddenly came from outside the window, “How long are you going to lie there?”

The clear and slightly deep voice carried a hint of the familiar casualness she knew.

Summer Sutton was momentarily stunned, her face suddenly lifting.

Seeing the face of the man outside the window, a look of delight bloomed on her face, “The sun! I’m so glad you came!”

She hadn’t seen him for so long, and to see him again, Summer Sutton never expected it would be under such circumstances.

He was still the same as before, her sun, every time he appeared, it was as if a beam of light shone from behind him, always saving her from danger with such perfect timing.
