Chapter 863: Chapter 863: Li Xingtian’s Prestigious Title!

Cui Hao’s fingers lightly brushed over the jade token, naturally understanding the intent behind Yunmeng Pavilion’s previous actions.

Rather than controlling Northern Julu Continent, Yunmeng Pavilion was more likely to end up controlled by his own master in the future.

The Yunmeng Pavilion Sect Master stood up, his white cloud gold-threaded robes flowing as if the clouds depicted on them were truly alive under the moonlight. He looked at Cui Hao:

"As for deeper intelligence, I’m unaware. Who organized the alliance, I don’t know either. Sometimes when we handle things, it’s all about the unspoken understanding."

"If there are no issues, tomorrow we will inform Zhaoling that her opinion has been approved, and she will command this operation going forward."

"Zhaoling has been well taken care of during this time by you. She has indeed grown quite a bit."

"If you slip some of your own little schemes in, that’s fine too. I’m not particularly concerned."

"As for where Yunmeng Pavilion and your master will go in the future, it still depends on Zhaoling’s thoughts."

Cui Hao put away the jade token and quickly stood to respond:

"Understood! I’ll look after Boss Zhaoling for you!"

The Yunmeng Pavilion Sect Master let out a soft laugh at these words, his attitude unknowable, then a strand of moonlight shone down and his form dissipated like a wisp of moonlight, vanishing without a trace.

Under the moonlight.

Cui Hao slowly sat back down in his chair, his gaze lifting to the still-luminous moon. He let out a long, slow sigh:

"Master... a pile of mess like this, and your disciple didn’t even run away."

"I’m the real deal when it comes to being a little cotton-padded jacket..."

"When I get back, I’ll ask Master for some benefits. Surely he’ll give me something, right?"

"Forget it. It’s been a while since I had a drink with Master. I’ll just have a drink with him and call it even."

The lonely moonlight cast long shadows as Cui Hao’s silhouette stretched out.

The next day at noon, the sun hung high.

Cui Hao walked toward the conference hall with a languid expression. But halfway there, he ran into Zheng Zhaoling by the fishpond where Yunze fed the fish.

Judging from the direction Zheng Zhaoling came from, she had likely just walked out of the conference hall.

Cui Hao forced a smile and nodded, then intended to walk past Zheng Zhaoling’s side.

But a hand shot out, blocking his path. Cui Hao looked and saw that the hand’s owner, Zheng Zhaoling, was staring intently at him.

Zheng Zhaoling spoke: "I’m looking for you."

Cui Hao straightened up and gave a very formal Daoist bow to Zheng Zhaoling:

"Of course, Boss Zhaoling!"

"Why are you calling me Boss? Are you insulting me?"

"Boss... do you really think so little of my character?"

"No, not really. In my mind, you’re just cheeky."

Cui Hao chuckled at these words, his tone somewhat helpless. "Alright, alright. What do you need?"

Zheng Zhaoling hesitated for a moment, then produced a Yunmeng Order:

"The Sect Master said today that he agrees with my position and allows me to execute this operation according to my own plans. I have unified command."

Cui Hao raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Isn’t that a good thing? Why do you look like something terrible is about to happen?"

"Some of the nuances aren’t my strong suit." Zheng Zhaoling asked in a low voice. "I don’t know — the Sect Master changed his attitude so quickly. Is he trying to hint at something?"

Cui Hao was somewhat stunned upon hearing this.

Such a question was something she should have pondered privately. Why ask him, a nominal outsider?

But the fact that Zheng Zhaoling came to ask him meant she had a certain degree of trust in him.

Cui Hao stood in place, watching Zheng Zhaoling’s somewhat suspicious expression. After a moment, he decided to return the favor while also giving Zheng Zhaoling a heads-up:

"Perhaps when your Sect Master speaks with you, there aren’t any hidden meanings. Perhaps he simply thinks that way."

Zheng Zhaoling gripped the Yunmeng Order. This was the first time since becoming a core disciple that she held the highest-level Yunmeng Order, granting her the supreme authority to command all of Yunmeng Marsh.

Cui Hao saw through Zheng Zhaoling’s doubts and chuckled:

"Just treat it as a test. Do what you want to do, do what you think is right. If it’s wrong, I’ll take the blame."

The suspicious look on Zheng Zhaoling’s face faded. She took a soft breath, then spoke:

"What remains is for me to handle. It has nothing to do with you, and I don’t need you to take the blame."

Cui Hao looked at the Zheng Zhaoling whose expression had completely changed. He gave a knowing smile and said:

"Understood, Boss."

Zheng Zhaoling waved the Yunmeng Order and looked at Cui Hao:

"Don’t worry. That Boss won’t be in vain."

"Oh?" Cui Hao’s eyes lit up with surprise as he looked at Zheng Zhaoling. "Does Boss have some incredible top-tier spirit treasure to share with me?"

Zheng Zhaoling pointed the Yunmeng Order at Cui Hao:

"No spirit treasure, but there is a mission. Looking at your lazy, work-shirking ways, this Boss hereby conscripts you to serve under my command as a general laborer, responsible for everything I order you to do."

Cui Hao’s eyes went wide. "Wait... I wasn’t slacking! I stayed up all night last night without rest. This is the first chance I’ve had to even walk toward the conference hall..."

"Forget it." Cui Hao waved his hand halfway through his sentence. "Boss, just give the orders and I’ll comply."

Zheng Zhaoling turned and headed back toward the conference hall, her tone much more resolute:

"Clear out the Evil Spirit Sect, divide the Incense Gods!"

"Long live Boss~ Long live Boss!"

Cui Hao raised his hand, truly looking like a lackey waving a flag and cheering for his boss.

Central Continent near the border of Southern Zhanbu Continent, Suiyun Peak.

Several towering peaks pierced through the clouds, shattering the once-continuous white clouds to pieces.

Li Yingling stood atop one of the peaks, gazing calmly at the small clouds drifting below. Her voice was calm as she spoke:

"Junior Brother..."

"Senior Sister... I really can’t do this anymore. Everyone says blood-qi evil cultivators are unreliable — they’re all liars from the Eighteen Immortal Sects." Li Xingtian’s normally expressionless face finally showed a hint of sorrow. Perhaps he was truly quite pained, as Li Xingtian interrupted Li Yingling’s words.

Li Yingling shifted her gaze to look at her second junior brother beside her, a small smile appearing on her face as she said softly:

"Is that so? Deceitful True Lord?"

Li Xingtian’s expression instantly became even more pronounced at these words, even somewhat ferocious.

He had originally thought that with his blood-qi cultivation, his future title would inevitably involve words like blood, slaughter, massacre, or purge — the kind of brutal, violent-sounding names that would make one seem as if they devoured children whole every night.

But in the end, all those titles were defeated at the hands of his own senior sister.

Li Xingtian considered himself a straightforward, honest person who preferred directness. Deceiving people was something he rarely did and was not particularly skilled at.

Yet, unknowingly following his senior sister’s arrangements, using pure blood-qi to disguise himself as an inside agent gathering intelligence...

Li Xingtian, this truly hot-blooded blood-qi cultivator, had somehow ended up with the title "Deceitful True Lord."

Furthermore, Li Yingling’s one-trick approach — refusing to change tactics no matter what — had thoroughly transformed what the world had always seen as brute-force blood-qi cultivators who relied on brawn over brains into: underhanded, scheming blood-qi evil cultivators.

Li Xingtian’s heart was indescribable.

He felt that names like Blood Butcher or something similar might actually be easier to accept.

What kind of godforsaken title was "Deceitful True Lord"?

It was truly the height of injustice. That title should have been given to his senior sister instead!
