Chapter 290: Chapter 288: You’re a Human Trafficker, Right?

Si Muye strode over in a couple of steps, holding the children, his aura surging.

"A Yue, you watch the children. I’ll go after him!"

As he spoke, he was about to put down Dabao and the others in his arms to chase deep into the mountain forest.

But Shen Yue stopped him, her eyes narrowing as she stared into the depths of the forest.

"Don’t bother. He won’t be able to take Wubao!"

Si Muye froze.

Huang Ziyue had already walked over, holding another child. Seeing the enormous tiger tracks on the ground, he had already guessed who had abducted Wubao.

Just then, Si Bao, who was in his arms, said anxiously,

"Female mother, a white monster took Wubao!"

Liu Bao’s eyes were also red with fear.

"Mhm, mhm! Liu Bao saw it too! It was a really big, white monster, like a huge tiger! Female mother, is it going to eat Wubao? We have to go save him! I don’t want Wubao to be taken away! I want Wubao to come back!"

Although Wubao and Liu Bao were born at the same time, the two little ones used to get into huge fights over who would be the older brother, with neither willing to give an inch.

But now, their brotherly bond ran bone-deep, and they cared for each other immensely.

With Wubao gone, Liu Bao was terrified and worried, tears welling up in his red-rimmed eyes.

Shen Yue looked at Liu Bao.

"Don’t be afraid, Liu Bao. Nothing will happen to Wubao. Female mother will go find him now. You all stay here with Ancient Bear Father and be good. Don’t run off, understand?"

With that, Shen Yue turned to Huang Ziyue and Si Muye.

"I’ll be right back. You two continue searching for soil and reassure the people."

Huang Ziyue immediately said, "I’ll go with you!"

Shen Yue knew he was worried about her.

"Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. Have you forgotten what Wubao is holding?"

Huang Ziyue was taken aback. ’That’s right.’

Wubao was still holding the Purple Rabbit.

His expression relaxed, as if he could already envision the miserable fate that awaited the white-browed, slant-eyed tiger.

He said, "Alright. I’ll wait for you."

He knew she needed to handle this alone.

Shen Yue turned and raced into the mountain forest.

The voices of the little ones followed her.

"Female mother, you have to bring Wubao back!"

"Female mother, be careful! Come back soon!"

"Female mother, Si Bao will wait right here for you! I’m not going anywhere!"

A warmth spread through Shen Yue’s heart, and her pace quickened.

’She’d like to see just how tough the hide of this so-called king of the mountain forest was, for him to show up after all this time and snatch Wubao!’

Wubao was carried in Yun Lie Ting’s jaws as they rushed deep into the mountain forest.

Wubao clung tightly to the Purple Rabbit, shouting,

"You big bad guy, put me down!"

"Where are you taking me?! Put me down, I don’t want to go with you!"

"Let me go, you big bad guy!"

Wubao kept yelling, mustering his spiritual power to resist.

Feeling the power overflowing from the little one’s body—a power that shared the same source as his own aura—the tremor in Yun Lie Ting’s heart grew stronger and stronger.

He braked abruptly, skidding to a halt.

His agile form carved a perfect arc through the woods, and he landed on a small, rocky hillock.

He placed Wubao on the ground.

The moment the little one’s feet touched the ground, his ears perked up, he bared his small, sharp fangs, and with a retaliatory leap, he bit down hard on Yun Lie Ting’s powerful foreleg.

"I’ll bite you to death, you big bad guy!"

But Yun Lie Ting’s fur was thick and his body was powerful; how could a cub’s milk teeth possibly pierce through?

Instead, he just got a mouthful of fur.

Refusing to give up, Wubao bit down again with all his might, even shaking his head and tearing at the leg, trying to make it hurt.

Yun Lie Ting looked down at the little thing tearing savagely at his foreleg, sizing him up with his imperious, naturally intimidating tiger eyes.

Just then, several other white tigers emerged from the bushes, though they were much smaller in stature than Yun Lie Ting.

The white tigers all looked up, watching the scene on the hillock with astonishment in their eyes.

Seeing that the little one was not about to stop and refused to let go, Yun Lie Ting gave his foreleg a shake. The little thing immediately lost his balance, was thrown off the leg, and fell, landing on his bottom.

His bottom stinging from the fall, Wubao looked up angrily, only to be startled as Yun Lie Ting took a step forward, casting a massive shadow over him.

Looking up at the intimidating tiger, whose enormous nostrils were breathing hot air down on him and whose cold, gleaming eyes were staring down at him, Wubao was so frightened that he snatched up the nearby Purple Rabbit and hugged it tightly.

"How dare you, tiger! You’re not allowed to eat us! We don’t taste good!"

"I’m telling you, if you dare eat us, my female mother will find you and skin you alive!"

Hearing this, a hint of disdain appeared in Yun Lie Ting’s tiger eyes.

"Little one, do you know who I am?"

When Wubao saw him speak in a human voice, his eyes went wide as saucers.

"You’re a Beastman? Then why are you in your beast form? And why did you kidnap us? What are you trying to do? Are you trying to traffic children?"

"You’re a child trafficker, aren’t you? You want to sell me, gouge out my eyes, and break my legs, right?"

He remembered his female mother once telling him that many traffickers specifically steal children.

They would cruelly harvest their organs.

Because of this, he was terrified, and his words became halting.

"T-Traffickers never come to a good end! If my female mother finds out, she definitely won’t let you go!"

He held the Purple Rabbit tightly in his arms. Even though his small body was trembling with fear, he still tilted his little face up stubbornly.

Yun Lie Ting listened to him, somewhat baffled. ’A child trafficker?’

’Is he talking about selling people?’

’This child thinks I’m some kind of kidnapper?’
