Shattered Fate
37- Revenge Fails
Bahaa’s expression hardened.
“What did you say?”
“You heard me.”
Wail looked toward Noel and Sam.
“This is my fight... and no one is taking my revenge from me.”
Bahaa stepped forward and grabbed Wail by the neck.
“Listen... Don’t get overconfident just because grief and anger have taken control of your emotions.”
“I won’t let you continue fighting after we’ve already weakened them.”
Elyes’s pained voice came from behind them.
“Yes, Wail... We came here to finish this, not to make it easier for you.”
Bahaa said angrily:
“Choose one. Quickly.”
Wail looked at the two enemies.
Then he sighed.
“Leave Noel to me.”
Bahaa released his grip on Wail’s neck.
“Good.”
Black Force Pulse appeared around Bahaa’s Elemental Form once again.
Noel looked at Wail.
“Look who finally showed up... Yassin’s student.”
Then he smiled mockingly.
“Or, sorry... You stopped being his student when he died. My mistake.”
Red and black electrical sparks appeared around Wail.
Then they disappeared.
He looked at Noel with complete calm.
“We’ll see if you can still say that... when you can’t move.”
Wail activated his Heavenly-Blue Elemental Form without hesitation.
He vanished in a flash of electricity and appeared in front of Noel, delivering a punch that sent him flying into the sky.
Wail followed him immediately.
As Noel rose through the air, he smiled.
“What incredible speed!”
He raised his hand.
Gravity suddenly reversed around Wail, attempting to drag him downward from that height.
But Wail vanished in another flash and appeared directly above Noel.
He brought both hands down onto Noel’s head.
But the attack lost most of its force.
Noel had reduced the gravity affecting Wail at the right moment, turning the blow into little more than a push.
Wail’s eyes widened.
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Before he could teleport again, gravity suddenly intensified around him.
That brief delay was enough.
Noel turned and delivered a gravity-enhanced kick that struck Wail directly and launched him toward the mountain like a projectile.
Wail drove his arm into the rocks before impact.
The stones shattered beneath his hand as he brought himself to a stop.
He slowly raised his head and gave Noel a cold stare.
Then a crimson Force Pulse aura ignited around him.
He spoke quietly:
“Now... the real fight begins.”
Noel simply looked at him with a mocking smile.
---
On the other side of the battlefield, dozens of transparent blades rushed toward Bahaa.
He opened several small portals in front of them, redirecting the blades toward Sam.
Sam dodged most of them, but several pierced his body.
In the next instant, Bahaa emerged from one of the portals behind him and grabbed him before he could turn around.
Bahaa’s dense purple aura pressed continuously against Sam’s body until Sam was forced to release a powerful burst of air pressure to break free.
Bahaa stepped back.
“I don’t know how you defeated Elyes... but it seems you betrayed him just as you betrayed Yassin.”
Sam smiled.
“A victory is still a victory, no matter how you achieve it.”
He formed a seal with his hands.
Suddenly, Void Shackles emerged from nothingness, moving toward Bahaa from every direction.
Bahaa dodged them with difficulty, twisting his body between one chain and another while using his portals to redirect some of them back toward Sam.
But whenever they approached Sam, they disappeared...
only to reappear behind Bahaa.
He continued evading them until the shackles finally stopped.
Bahaa breathed calmly.
“So... even this technique has its limits.”
Force Pulse ignited around him.
He raised his hand and fired a massive dark beam.
An invisible air shield formed in front of Sam.
It stopped the beam, but cracks quickly spread across its surface.
Sam twisted his hand, redirecting the beam away.
At the same moment, Bahaa had already reached him.
Sam formed a transparent blade and drove it through Bahaa’s shoulder.
He smiled mockingly.
“How reckless.”
But Bahaa did not retreat.
He grabbed Sam’s arm tightly.
He spoke through the pain:
“I’ve got you...”
He swung Sam through the air and slammed him into the ground again and again before finally throwing him away.
Sam crashed into the ground and slowly got back up.
Bahaa appeared behind him.
Sam turned quickly.
But Bahaa had already opened a small portal, tricking him.
He emerged in front of Sam and drove a kick into his stomach.
Sam’s aura disappeared.
He fell to his knees, coughing blood.
Bahaa stood before him.
“It’s unfortunate for a fighter who devoted his life to perfecting his strength...”
He grabbed Sam by the hair and lifted his head.
“To end up at the hands of a treacherous bastard like you.”
Sam looked at him with a mocking smile...
then spat blood in his face.
Bahaa’s anger erupted.
He punched Sam with tremendous force, sending him flying.
But moments later...
Bahaa suddenly felt dizzy.
He staggered in place.
He looked at his shoulder.
One of the Void Shackles had embedded itself there during the exchange.
His anger intensified.
“Damn you...”
He raised his head.
Sam was standing before him, holding a blade formed from highly compressed air.
He smiled.
“It’s over.”
He swung the blade...
But something stopped him.
A massive wave of fire erupted between them.
Sam’s eyes widened.
Bahaa, kneeling on the ground, said:
“Damn you... You only show up when things get bad.”
Amin stood in front of him, surrounded by flames.
Without looking back, he said:
“Looks like you lost... I’ll take it from here.”
Sam frowned.
“You... Dark told us about you, but you’ve been missing all this time.”
Amin did not answer.
He extended his hand.
Flames surged forward, pulling Sam toward him before launching him into the air.
In the next instant, Amin delivered a flaming kick that sent him crashing toward the ground.
The ground shattered beneath his body.
Amin appeared above him and unleashed a torrent of flames.
The attack continued until he finally pulled back.
Sam used his air pressure to extinguish the flames, but he emerged from the attack covered in burns.
He looked at Amin with a mocking smile.
“What a weakling... You only showed up after your opponent was exhausted.”
Amin appeared directly in front of him.
“And words like that... are coming from a coward like you?”
He fired a massive beam of fire.
It engulfed Sam completely before exploding against the mountain.
Flames rose into the air.
Moments later...
Sam emerged from the smoke, burned and covered in wounds.
He raised his head and smiled.
“So... you want to fight?”
He clenched his fists.
“Then you’ve got it!!”
---
The scene returned to Wail and Noel.
Noel stood calmly, faint electrical sparks flickering around his body as deep wounds covered him.
He looked at Wail with disgust.
“You disappointed me... After all the hatred you carried toward us, I expected you to be a real threat.”
“Especially after that impressive entrance.”
The scene was shocking.
After everything Wail had endured, no one had expected him to be the one losing.
He lay on the ground, his body covered in wounds.
His incredible speed and destructive power had not been enough against gravity, which had neutralized his greatest advantage.
Noel’s experience had given him the upper hand.
Wail remained motionless, staring at the ground without saying a word.
Noel turned away.
“There’s no point in killing you now... Stay here and struggle with your weakness while we finish off your companions.”
“Then we’ll come back for you.”
He vanished.
A moment later, he appeared beside Bahaa and looked at him with contempt.
“And you too... You lost.”
He continued mockingly:
“Didn’t I tell you? Staying with those people has made you weaker.”
Bahaa glared at him angrily but said nothing.
Noel smiled.
“Maybe... we’ll give you another chance after everything is over.”
Then he raised his voice toward Sam:
“Do you need my help?”
Sam had just dodged a massive fireball and landed on the ground.
He answered without turning around:
“Don’t you dare interfere... This fight is mine.”
In the next instant, Amin appeared in front of him and punched him with tremendous force, sending him flying.
He immediately chased after him.
Noel watched in silence.
“Looks like you’re having trouble...”
Then he smiled.
“Fine. I’ll step in if necessary.”
The battle continued to unfold rapidly.
Mark, Noah, Adam, and Raouf sat motionless, unable to do anything, while the others remained unconscious.
Elyes tried to get back up, but the Void Shackles embedded in his legs prevented him from moving.
As for Bahaa...
he was beginning to realize that Amin had become their last hope.
Memories of Dark and his former strength crept into his mind.
He bit his lip in frustration.
Meanwhile, Wail...
felt nothing.
No anger.
No grief.
No hope.
There was only one thought left in his mind...
He was weak.
He had failed to protect his teacher...
and he had failed to protect his companions.
And as he sank deeper into that emptiness...
he heard a voice calling out to him from afar:
“Waaail!”
Wail slowly raised his head.
Sara was running toward him.
