Chapter 2452: Just a few things

It took a few days, but the other sects started to arrive.

When they did arrive, the first thing that they did was come and see our group.

It was only natural that they would be curious about this group that seemed to come from a completely different world. After all, the main reason that this meeting had been called was because of this group from another world.

The one thing that they were very curious about was how we took care of the corruption energy.

I didn’t hold back this time and let the soldiers demonstrate their weapons to these other sects.

Even the Mount Hua Sect paid attention to this.

We hadn’t demonstrated this previously to them, so they most likely thought that we only had a single method of dealing with the corruption energy which was directly using the divine energy.

But now that we showed that we had weapons made from the divine energy, they took us even more seriously.

Though at the same time, there were many questions that were asked about whether we would be able to share the weapons made from the divine energy.

Since we showed them that it was possible for others to use the divine energy, it was normal that they would want it for themselves. This was the whole plan in letting them know about the divine energy weapons.

We wanted the artifacts from the different sects, so we needed something to trade with them.

Slowly, the different countries were receiving the divine energy weapons that they were allotted and we were creating a small stockpile. That stockpile could be used to trade with these cultivators for their artifacts.

The only thing that we had to worry about was the exchange rate.

But before that, there were a few things that I wanted to say to the various leaders of the different sects.

Which was why I set up private meetings with them.

The sect leaders naturally knew that I was the leader of our group, so they were more than happy to meet with me.

When we met, it was very clear what their intentions were.

"Partner with our sect, we’re clearly the best option."

None of them held back at all as they introduced their sects and what they were capable of. Though the one thing that they did leave out were the weaknesses of their sects, not that they would have mentioned this when they were trying to pitch their sects to me.

However, it wasn’t as if I didn’t know these weaknesses already.

From the pitches that they gave me, I was more and more certain that these were the same sects that I had dealt with in the Sword of Justice. Which made me even more confident on how to deal with them.

"Thank you for your interest, but I think that this is something that we should discuss in a place that’s more open than this."

Naturally they weren’t happy when I rejected them like this, but there was something else that made them lose all those unhappy feelings.

"If I remember correctly, there was something known as the Soul Valley in your sect, right?"

"Wasn’t there something regarding a forging incident a few years back?"

"The abbess of the Emei Sect, does she know?"

All of them looked at me with strange stunned looks, but none of them dared to do anything. After all, in their minds I was the immortal that they had been waiting to meet.

The word immortal carried far more weight than even what I thought. The way that they looked at me really made it seem like they were even putting some kind of projection on me.

I had no idea just what they thought of immortals since this wasn’t something that was explored in the game, so I could just take whatever they were giving me at face value.

But the fact that I said all of this made them fall silent.

They no longer tried asking me to provide them the divine energy weapons, they just eventually stood up without even saying a single word.

There wasn’t a single one of them that was able to come back from their shock in the end as they all left as if their souls had been taken from them.

I didn’t stop them since I knew that this was the only way that my goal would be achieved.

Once I was done talking with all of the sect masters, it wasn’t as if I could leave out one that I had spent more time with.

So far, I hadn’t actually said anything to the sect master of the Mount Hua Sect since it wasn’t the right time. It was only now that all of the other sect masters were here that it was the right time.

"I’ve heard that the sect master had a travel companion in the past."

The moment that I said this, there was already shock and disbelief that appeared on his face. He looked at me as if he was trying to figure out what I meant by this, but I just looked at him with a smile on my face.

In the end, the sect master didn’t say anything as he walked out of the room as well.

His reaction was the exact same as the other sect masters in the end.

I just watched as he walked out of the room, looking back at me from time to time as if he was trying to figure something out.

When he was gone, I stood up and walked out of the room without talking to anyone that was outside.

The way that they looked at me showed just what they were thinking about me, but I didn’t mind it at all.

Instead, I was waiting to see what they would do now.

"I’ve laid the bait, so I want to see just how they will react in response."

It seemed like there was a good show waiting for me.
