Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure
Chapter 2538: Hidden base (3)
"Each one of these orbs seems to have something inside of them and they seem to be alive."
Beyond that, I wasn’t able to figure anything else out about these black spheres.
Looking around at the others with me, it seemed like they drew the same conclusions.
No matter how we looked at these things, it really didn’t seem like there’s anything about them that would give a clue as to what they were.
But these things were precious enough that the forces of Destruction would send all those corruption energy monsters out to defend it. At the same time, there was all of this corruption energy that was gathered here just for these black spheres.
Though the one thing that was strange was how there weren’t any corruption energy monsters in this area.
We had still been standing inside of the flames, so it wasn’t as if we were out of the protection of the flames yet. But the flames that were around us weren’t that dense either, so it wasn’t as if it provided that much protection.
If the corruption energy monsters wanted, they would have been able to reach us.
Yet it didn’t seem like any of them were coming at us.
Since there was nothing that we could figure out by standing inside of the flames, I went forward towards the black spheres.
When I started moving, I could see that the others were planning with me. It was just that as they followed me, I could see them pulling out their relics as if they were preparing for a fight.
I couldn’t help revealing a bitter smile seeing this before raising my hand to stop them.
It really seemed like they wanted to come with me, but it wasn’t as if I was planning to start a fight. I just wanted a closer look at the black spheres if possible and see if I could find out anything about them.
Pulling out these relics would just create more of a mess since there was no telling how these black spheres would respond.
Only it wasn’t that easy to convince them.
"What if you get hurt? It’s dangerous here."
That was the argument that they made and I couldn’t deny it either since we were completely in the enemy territory. Not to mention that we really didn’t know what we were doing here.
"I’ll be able to respond faster than anyone and I’m the strongest one here in this situation."
When I said this, there really wasn’t an argument that they could make.
So in the end, they just remained in the flames and looked like they were ready to charge out at any moment.
I didn’t mind if that was how they wanted to do this, I just stepped out of the flames without any of my relics out.
As expected, there was no response that came from the black spheres that were there.
However, I could feel the aura of the black spheres more clearly now that I was out of the flames. The flames had been a barrier that had prevented me from sensing this aura.
"It’s familiar..."
That was the only thing that I could think when this sensation came to me, but I couldn’t actually figure out why it felt familiar.
Looking back, I found that there was something even stranger about this place.
It wasn’t that there weren’t any corruption energy monsters, it was just that they couldn’t enter this place.
The tunnel made of flames cut through the cave and reached this room in the back of the cave. But the cave was wide enough that I could see that the corruption energy monsters were just gathered there at the entrance of this room.
With the way that they stood there, it was as if there was some kind of invisible barrier that prevented them from coming into this room.
It wasn’t a barrier or else we would have sensed it. At the same time, the flames would have clashed with that barrier and we would have been able to see signs of it.
When I looked at the corruption energy monsters more closely, I could see that there seemed to be some form of reverence that was there as they stood at the entrance. At the same time, it was almost as if there was some kind of fear.
It was almost as if they recognized that whatever was inside of the black spheres was something that was superior to them.
"The only things that they would react to like this are the Apostles of Destruction." I couldn’t help muttering to myself when I saw this.
However, it didn’t seem right either since the reaction was a bit stronger than normal.
None of the Apostles of Destruction that I’ve met before had ever invoked this kind of reaction from the corruption energy monsters.
"The God of Destruction?" I asked myself this, but I already knew the answer.
If it was the God of Destruction, would there be so many of them?
If there really were that many Gods of Destruction, then the forces of Destruction would have long destroyed this entire world.
So it was unlikely that there would be this many Gods of Destruction.
As I was thinking, I couldn’t help thinking of the aura that these black spheres gave off.
Eventually, I was able to pinpoint why it felt familiar.
But the moment that I did, I was hoping that I had been wrong.
"It’s like the aura of the Four Omens..."
Though it wasn’t as strong as the aura that one of the actual Four Omens might possess, each of the black orbs did possess a fraction of that aura.
If they were all combined together, then it would come close to the aura of one of the Four Omens. Albeit, it would be weaker than the actual members of the Four Omens that I’ve met.
"So does that mean that they’re trying to create a new member of the Four Omens in this place?"
