Chapter 871: Orchard Operation (Part 2)

“7472?”

Watching the convoy drive away, Ah Ming mumbled subconsciously.

In an instant, the scene where he admitted to Ghabari that he was a member of the 7472 unit flashed in his mind.

Could it be that everything I’ve done is the handiwork of the 7472 unit?

“Ah Ming, are you alright?”

Suddenly, a woman’s voice called from behind.

Ah Ming turned around, and immediately saw Claudie in a white long dress, “I’m fine.”

“As long as you’re okay. I was scared to death when I saw you suddenly smash the window and jump out of the car…”

Claudie sighed in relief, patting her chest as she spoke.

The lively motion immediately caught the eyes of several passersby.

She scanned these faces one by one, confirmed there were no suspicious persons, then her expression turned cold instantly, “Damn! What exactly are you up to! Don’t you know this could ruin our mission!”

“I, I know.”

Ah Ming almost blurted out about the 7472 unit, but held back at the last moment.

That’s right.

His true identity is a Mossad spy.

As it happened, during his service in prison, he was recruited by a Mossad spy and underwent the most rigorous espionage training, mastering everything from counter-surveillance to radio transmission, from invisible ink to development techniques.

Until half a month ago, he suddenly received a secret message from Mossad.

He was instructed to participate in an operation codenamed “Orchard.”

The operation was of such high importance that Israel even formed a special task force specifically for it.

From the Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, down to the Intelligence and Special Operations Bureau, the Military Intelligence Bureau, and multiple special forces, personnel were involved.

Ah Ming only recently found out.

His former “childhood sweetheart” Claudie turned out to be his superior.

But that’s quite normal, too.

Mossad is most known for its skill with the “honey trap”; the 1966 Soviet fighter jet document leak was orchestrated by a Mossad femal spy.

Ah Ming was not clear on the detailed content of the “Orchard” operation.

He only knew the target of this operation:

A foreign seller about to trade with Iran’s Savama.

“Knowing all this, you still made such a big scene, you’ve really put us in danger!”

Claudie’s face turned grim, her tone icy cold, a stark contrast to her previous charming Persian cat-like demeanor, “Tell me, how did you come into contact with Ghabari, and what did you two discuss!”

“Claudie, you’ve really misunderstood me. I did this entirely for the sake of the mission,”

Ah Ming feigned innocence, his explanation partly sincere, partly deceitful.

“Actually, I spotted the seller early on and cornered him in the restroom, but given the train was filled with cameras, I found it hard to escape under Savama’s nose, so I had to find another way to gain Ghabari’s trust.”

“What?! You found the seller?!”

Claudie was shocked, grabbing Ah Ming’s shoulder, “Did you find any clues about the transaction items on him!”

“Yes, there were some weapon fragments. From Ghabari’s reaction, it seemed they were after the optical stealth coating on them.”

“Weapon fragments?”

Claudie asked, then frowned and shook her head, “No, according to intelligence, this trade’s target isn’t merely weapon fragments; it’s radioactive substances!”

“Radioactive substances, you mean nuclear…”

Ah Ming’s eyes widened, but before he could finish, Claudie silenced him with a stern look.

Perhaps because his performance this time was commendable.

Claudie finally decided to share some of the core details of the “Orchard” operation with him.

Ah Ming suppressed the excitement within him.

Because he felt he might have caught a groundbreaking opportunity.

Being an intelligence spy, Ah Ming was well aware of what kind of special unit the codename 7472 represented.

It was the enigmatic elite organization that outwitted all intelligence agencies at the international anti-terrorism summit, publicly embarrassing the Ministry of Defense of Brazil and the US CIA!

He’s still uncertain why the 7472 unit suddenly chose him or whether they knew his spy identity.

If they don’t know,

then, with Mossad in one hand and the 7472 unit in the other,

as long as he can leverage the intelligence from both sides, he can absolutely play both sides, becoming a double agent.

Perhaps, it could even make him a legendary figure!

This was the real reason Ah Ming didn’t report 7472 to Claudie right away and chose to keep it hidden.

“Sir, the identity of that seller in the restroom has been investigated; he’s a drug dealer from the Mexican Sinaloa Group.”

In the special convoy, Hasha, sitting in the passenger seat, reported to Ghabari in the back after getting off the phone.

“A drug dealer?”

Ghabari’s eyelid twitched, “It seems the real seller hasn’t shown up yet, but what Ah Ming got matches exactly with the email, perhaps this is just the seller’s safety measure.”

“Sir, you once said the intelligence system of the 7472 unit is extremely powerful, but I observed that kid’s expression just now, he didn’t seem to know what we truly want to trade this time, could it be, we’ve all been tricked by 7472…”

While expressing his viewpoint, Hasha cautiously watched Ghabari’s expression.

“7472 wouldn’t be unaware; the fact that he found the fake seller early and brought out weapon fragments proves 7472 has long been involved. What we fear is that their act of playing dumb is truly aimed at that thing…”

At this point, Ghabari looked out the car window.

The overcast clouds in the sky reflected in his pupils, appearing extremely grave.

…

That night, Gu Ji finished dealing with all matters related to the game and went to bed immediately.

Even though “Ah Ming” could now connect,

considering his unclear identity and the fact that Gu Ji had exploited him to expose the 7472 unit again, it was best to observe a while longer.

Mainly, for clearing this train derailment level, Gu Ji was utterly consumed, leaving himself somewhat exhausted and weary.

Though it was just a brief 55-minute game, it was more exhausting than spending two to three months on the MERS level.

The energy that he had barely managed to recover from previous rest, compounded with the enormous energy drain from attribute enhancements, now had returned to its original state.

Thus, when Saturday arrived,

Gu Ji decided to lounge in bed comfortably and “lay low” over the weekend to replenish his energy.

However, before he even humbly found rest for a few minutes, a WeChat call from Gao Bo popped up.

“Are you awake, Gu Ji? Come to the training ground at the unit, teach me some practical techniques for fast combat, will you?”

“You’re truly possessed, huh, training at 7 AM on a weekend?”

Gu Ji initially thought Gao Bo’s voluntary training wouldn’t last long.

But surprisingly, this guy was actually serious about it!

“Hehehe, I’m just trying to be a diligent bird, hurry over, and practice with me!”

Just from hearing his voice, Gu Ji could imagine Gao Bo’s wicked grin stretching to his ears.

“You train by yourself today, I won’t go, I’m tired, it’s rare to rest at home for a day.”

“Hey? That’s exactly why you should come!”

“How so?”

“Precisely because you don’t feel like training today, you must train today, isn’t that what you willingly taught me during the Jinbang training?”

Unexpectedly, Gao Bo made sense with his reasoning, “Come on, Wu Kang is also here, just missing you!”

Hearing that last bit.

Gu Ji couldn’t help but recall back in college how Gao Bo would drag him out of bed for gaming, and he shook his head with a smile, “Alright, I’ll be right over!”

“Hmm…”

In a rented room, dressed in cartoon pajamas, Chen Zhiyu, with messy hair, was lying on the bed, holding her phone, preparing to send Gu Ji a message, inviting him to join her for barbecue in the evening.

Yet before she could hit the enter key.

“Buzz~”

A new message popped up abruptly.

Zeng Dan: Xiaoyu, come to the unit immediately, the director is holding a meeting to deliver important orders!
