Simulation Game: Crisis Management
Chapter 872: Fishing for Big Fish
Dragon and Tiger Assault Team outdoor back mountain training ground.
Gu Ji took off his helmet, grabbed a bottle of mineral water, and gulped it down.
Gao Bo plopped down on a chair and couldn’t help but ask.
“Gu Ji, how did I do just now?”
“Very good, compared to the Brazil operation, your attention to detail has improved quite a bit. Looks like you’ve been putting in some work lately!”
“Gao Bo’s progress is indeed noticeable, especially his marksmanship.”
Right as Gu Ji finished speaking, Wu Kang walked over with a bottle of water.
Listening to their unabashed praise, even the thick-skinned Gao Bo “shyly” licked his lips and scratched the back of his head.
“Am I really that excellent?”
“Alright, quit pretending to be humble after getting all this praise.”
Gu Ji tossed a bottle of water over, which Gao Bo caught effortlessly with one hand, letting out a cheeky laugh.
To be honest.
Gao Bo’s improvement was quite evident.
Mainly because he had a solid foundation, but his poor performance in real operations was mostly due to consistently overlooking some details.
Like the footwork problem he used to frequently mess up.
Whenever he engaged in CQB wall-advancing, he would always cross his legs, but now he finally fixed it and started doing the crab walk.
Originally, Gu Ji even thought about giving Gao Bo a shot at the [BCI Virtual Reality Trainer].
But now, it seems completely unnecessary.
After finishing his water, Wu Kang suddenly suggested, “Hey, it’s a rare long weekend, why don’t we find a place to camp tomorrow and get everyone together, what do you think?”
“I was planning to continue training tomorrow…”
It was hard to imagine these words coming from the mouth of the most playful Gao Bo.
“You need to balance training and rest, or you’ll train yourself silly. What do you think, Gu Ji?”
Wu Kang turned his head to look over.
Gu Ji nodded, mainly because he really needed some rest recently, “Sure, I’ll ask Chen Zhiyu, you guys check with Monk, Zhou Yang, and the others.”
With that, he sent a message to Chen Zhiyu.
But the girl replied, “You guys have fun, I have to work overtime recently.”
Overtime?
Wasn’t the research on the 7472 unit already concluded, or does National Security have some new task?
Gu Ji couldn’t help but grow curious.
Since the Brazilian “Golden Shield Operation,” after learning that the domestic intelligence agencies were also tracking these black tech items, he became particularly interested.
Wu Kang shook his head at this point, “Monk and Zhao Hua are not in Ningzhou, and Zhou Yang is busy with his girlfriend hosting relatives.”
“Chen Zhiyu is also working overtime.”
“Then that’s it, just the three of us camping isn’t gonna be much fun, let’s just train honestly tomorrow!”
Gao Bo stretched lazily, thinking that would be the end of it.
Unexpectedly, Wu Kang pulled him back into his seat, “Three’s good enough, if nothing else, we can go fishing!”
“Fishing? That sounds pretty nice…”
Gao Bo’s eyes lit up, seemingly intrigued.
Seeing Gu Ji also nodding in agreement, Wu Kang started removing his training gear, “Alright, then I’ll head back to prepare, and I’ll pick you guys up early tomorrow!”
The next day.
At dawn, Wu Kang parked the car below the apartment building.
Considering the mosquitoes likely by the water this season, Gu Ji changed into an outdoor outfit: brown pants, a military green T-shirt, a black ultra-thin hardshell jacket over it, and even the shoes were hiking boots.
“Where’s Gao Bo?”
As soon as he got in the car, Gu Ji noticed it was only Wu Kang inside.
“He said yesterday’s training wore him out, he just got up. He told me to pick you up first.”
“So where are we camping later?”
“Bailing Reservoir. I specifically asked my dad yesterday, he said it has great scenery and big fish. Plus, nearby villages have agritourism and can cook our catch on the spot for us!”
The two chatted idly along the way.
After picking up Gao Bo, Wu Kang drove straight south.
Bailing Reservoir is located in a rural area outside the southern suburbs of Ningzhou, after exiting the highway, surrounded by mountains and water, with vast fields of grass in view, it’s an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Faced with such beautiful surroundings, Gu Ji completely relaxed.
Lowering the car window, he felt the breeze on his face and took deep breaths of the air filled with the scent of earth and grass.
“Here we are.”
At 9 am, Wu Kang slowly parked the car on a flat piece of wasteland.
Apart from them, there were about a dozen other cars, mostly from Ningzhou City, here to enjoy the scenery.
The three of them took various camping gear from the trunk and carried their fishing rods to the reservoir edge.
After paying for their fishing spot, they each went to find their fishing spot.
Gu Ji chose a spot on the west side of the reservoir.
When he was in middle school, he used to go fishing with his dad and Chen Zhiyu’s father frequently, and while his technique wasn’t top-tier, it was certainly better than a newbie’s.
Near midday.
He already had four fish in his bucket, two big and two small.
Meanwhile, Gao Bo had been fishing for two hours with no catch.
In the end, it was with Gu Ji and Wu Kang’s help to lure the fish that he barely managed to catch a palm-sized carp.
But Gao Bo seemed quite satisfied with that.
The three of them brought their catch back to the parking lot, ready to put their tools back in the car and find a local restaurant to cook the fish.
“Whoa, there are definitely more cars here now than this morning!”
Gao Bo exclaimed as he noticed the sudden increase in vehicles.
Wu Kang put the fishing gear in the car, “The agritourism spots near Bailing Reservoir are famous. Many people from Ningzhou come just for a taste of those specialty dishes!”
“Watch out, don’t get anything on yourself.”
