Skill Trees Are Everywhere
Chapter 113: Skill Fusion
Chapter 113: Chapter 113: Skill Fusion
"Your Highness, it’s your fiancée."
Seeing the dumbfounded look on Su Han’s face, Eunuch An gave him a motherly smile.
"Fian... fiancée?"
Su Han asked again, uncertain.
Eunuch An’s smile didn’t waver as he nodded calmly. "Yes. His Majesty arranged it."
Su Han: "...Let’s go! To the palace! I’m going to find my Uncle and ask him what’s going on. A fiancée? Did anyone ask for my opinion?
Annul the engagement! I must annul the engagement!"
With that, Su Han grabbed Su Yi, called for Su Xiao’Er, and stormed toward the imperial palace.
Eunuch An’s eyes crinkled into a smile. He seemed to have expected this, following quietly without a word.
One step, two steps, three steps, he looked at the sky.
Four steps, five steps, six steps, he looked at the ground.
Seven steps, eight steps, nine steps, he turned around.
Su Han decisively headed back.
"Wait! Let me burn this tree first, then we’ll go to the palace!"
Su Yi: "..."
Eunuch An: "..."
Su Xiao’Er: "..."
’Seriously? The situation is urgent, yet you still haven’t forgotten about burning the tree. Just how obsessed are you with this?’
Having watched his Crown Prince grow up, Su Xiao’Er racked his brain for a long time but couldn’t recall any past experience that would explain this deep-seated obsession with burning trees.
’Could it be... he just suddenly awakened some strange new trait?’
While Su Xiao’Er was tilting his head in thought, Su Han had already lit up the Skill Tree in the courtyard.
He opened the Skill List. As expected, the old ancestor was as prolific as ever:
Selectable Skill 1: Samadhi True Flame (Fragmented).
Selectable Skill 2: King’s Dominating Aura (One Nation).
Su Han: "..."
’So, can’t the old ancestor come up with something new?’
’Almost every Skill Tree has King’s Dominating Aura. Just how fond is the old ancestor of this skill?’
’Go to a new place, unleash a wave of King’s Dominating Aura?’
’And this first selectable skill... why is it fragmented again?’
’He could accept that the Heaven and Earth Melting Furnace was fragmented. After all, it was something heaven and earth could not tolerate, so most of it was destroyed by their might.
He also accepted that Nine Swords was fragmented. Nine Swords was a complete set but could also be broken down into the Nine Stances. Even as a fragmented skill, he still learned three of the swords, which were equivalent to three life-saving skills with separate cooldowns.
But now... how is your Samadhi True Flame also fragmented?’
’This Samadhi True Flame thing... just how does it even get fragmented?’
Su Han racked his brain but couldn’t imagine what the old ancestor could have possibly done to the Samadhi True Flame to end up fragmenting it.
However, despite his internal complaints, Su Han’s actions were swift.
Ignoring the useless Overlord’s Aura, Su Han chose Samadhi True Flame. The skill transformed into Dao Rhyme and merged into his Sea of Consciousness.
Inside his Sea of Consciousness, his Divine Thought Power surged, more than doubling in an instant. His Cultivation Realm strengthened once again, giving Su Han the feeling that he could break through the Spirit Platform realm and truly step into the Divine Sea realm at any moment.
’After all... I’ve already broken through to the Divine Sea. As long as I polish my Spirit Platform to Perfection, I can officially advance to the Divine Sea realm anytime.’
Suppressing the urge to break through, Su Han focused on receiving the inheritance of the Samadhi True Flame.
After fully absorbing the experience of the Samadhi True Flame, Su Han finally understood how it had become fragmented.
The Samadhi True Flame, the "three subtleties" within the flame, consisted of first, the Fire within Wood; second, the Fire within Stone; and third, the Fire in the Air.
Fusing these three flames together to create the "samadhi flame seed" was the most basic version of the Samadhi True Flame.
Of course, the version the old ancestor had mastered back in the day was also this most basic version.
As for why the Samadhi True Flame skill was still fragmented even though the old ancestor had mastered the basic version...
Back then, the old ancestor had used the profoundness of the Heaven and Earth Melting Furnace to unconventionally force the Fire within Stone, the Fire within Wood, and the Fire in the Air to merge, creating the basic version of the Samadhi True Flame.
After mastering it, because he had so many other techniques at his disposal, the old ancestor rarely used the astonishingly powerful Samadhi True Flame in combat, leaving the divine flame to gather dust.
In his later years, the old ancestor stopped fighting. After his phases of Tomb Raiding, playing the Infernal Dao, and being an emperor, he awakened a new hobby: barbecuing!
For a long period in his later years, the old ancestor would squat in the backyard of his villa every few days for an open-air barbecue.
And to make things easier, the old ancestor never used charcoal or firewood, instead directly controlling the Samadhi True Flame to do his grilling.
The divine flame had a spirit. Being forcefully fused together was frustrating enough. But to then be ignored after the fusion was even more frustrating.
When the old ancestor finally remembered to use them, it turned out to be for barbecuing, which was the most frustrating thing of all.
And so... getting more and more frustrated... the Samadhi True Flame went ’BOOM’ and exploded.
After it exploded, although the properties of the Fire in the Air, Fire within Wood, and Fire within Stone all remained, the old ancestor’s Samadhi True Flame had become a fragmented, neutered version.
At first, the old ancestor didn’t mind. He figured that even without the power of the genuine Samadhi True Flame, the neutered version should be good enough for barbecuing.
However, once he started grilling with it, the old ancestor discovered that this fragmented Samadhi True Flame brought him a pleasant surprise.
The fragmented version of the Samadhi True Flame lacked the terrifying destructive power of the complete version, but it retained the property of being able to burn anything. Moreover, he could freely control the flame’s output intensity.
Although its combat power was weaker, it was now perfectly suited for barbecuing.
And so, the old ancestor often used the fragmented Samadhi True Flame to barbecue here.
Later on, this Skill Tree came into being.
After once again witnessing another Chapter of his ancestor’s glorious history, Su Han felt...
Well, alright, the old ancestor had too many brilliant deeds to his name. He was too tired to even complain anymore!
’But... this fragmented Samadhi True Flame’s ability to burn anything and have its intensity controlled isn’t just useful for the old ancestor’s barbecues.’
’It’ll be a great help for my future tree-burning endeavors, too.’
’If I used an enhanced version of Samadhi True Flame to burn the tree, I’d be afraid of accidentally blowing it up. But with this neutered, docile version, that’s not a risk anymore.’
’So...’
"This fragmentation is great! It’s a great fragmentation!"
Just as he was marveling at this, a strange feeling arose in Su Han’s mind—Skill: Samadhi True Flame can be fused with Skill: Rain of Fire to generate a new skill. Fuse?
’Skills can be fused? Is this system that high-tech?’
’Well,’ he thought, ’both skills are for burning trees. Might as well fuse them and see what happens.’
Su Han chose to fuse. With a thought, two icons, one for Skill: Rain of Fire and one for Skill: Samadhi True Flame, seemed to flash before his eyes.
After a flash, the two skill icons merged, gradually forming a brand-new, shining icon.
Su Han’s consciousness touched the new icon.
The new icon instantly dispersed, turning into new skill information and experience that Su Han absorbed. It had become a new skill—
Fusion Skill: True Sky-Filling Fire Dance.
