Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 711: I Was the One Who Hurt Him
After taking a few steps, Evelyn turned around, her eyes red as she looked at Logan, choking up: “In this world, no one has a smooth ride. Do you think everyone has it easy? Your hands are still here, and you were lucky to meet Ashley. She can at least restore your hands to seventy or eighty percent, but you gave up. You keep your hands, and they become utterly useless.”
Ashley Sutton and Cecilia Lynch both stared at Evelyn, their eyes mirroring astonishment.
The usually gentle and kind Evelyn unexpectedly spoke such sensible and heartless words, which was truly unexpected.
Seeing Logan with no reaction, Evelyn could only turn around and leave the bar.
Once she was out, Evelyn loosened her grip on Ashley and Cecilia’s hands, looking back at the bar entrance, eyes filled with intense reluctance and heartache.
Has Logan really turned into this?
“Is it really okay to leave him alone in there?” Ashley asked worriedly, “Won’t he get into trouble?”
“If he doesn’t walk out of his pain himself, no one can help him.” Evelyn whispered, “His body can be healed, but he remains a wrecked person.”
Ashley opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but couldn’t utter a single retort.
There’s no denying, Evelyn’s analysis was correct.
“So… should we just leave?” Cecilia hesitated to ask, “Should we secretly keep watch?”
At these words, Evelyn sighed deeply.
Though she spoke decisively, in truth, she still worried about Logan.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have appeared at all.” Evelyn said in a deflated tone, “I’m the one who hurt him.”
“It’s not your fault.” Cecilia quickly said, “Before, Logan couldn’t become a couple with you, and he wasn’t negative. What really affected him is this time, being plotted against and used by his brother.”
“His brother…” Ashley sighed long, “He seems quite frightening!”
Mentioning Liam, Evelyn couldn’t help but glance at Yvette, who stood not far away, staying entirely silent, acting transparent.
Evelyn felt Liam seemed to have quite a bit of interest in Yvette.
Noticing Evelyn’s odd expression, Cecilia couldn’t help but ask: “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” Evelyn shook her head, “Ashley, then… I’ll have to ask you to secretly watch over Logan! In case he really does something crazy…”
Before Evelyn finished her sentence, Logan walked out of the bar.
Evelyn’s heart flew up to her throat. She instinctively shut her mouth tight, eyes fixed on Logan.
Seeing him approach her, her heart pounded wildly, hands unconsciously clenched into fists, palms sweating.
Logan’s cheeks were red, and his steps were somewhat unsteady. However, his eyes reflected a strong light, as if regaining his usual composure and confidence.
He walked up to Evelyn, stared steadily at her, and then said: “Evelyn, I promise, from today on, I will live well and no longer rely on alcohol.”
Evelyn blinked, completely bewildered by Logan’s sudden appearance and his words.
“I don’t want to be someone who isn’t even qualified to have once liked you.” Logan’s tone was filled with sincerity.
Then, he looked at Ashley, softly saying: “Thank you for taking care of me these days, and please continue helping with my treatment, alright?”
