Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 713: So His Possessiveness Is This Strong
Cecilia Lynch nodded, “Since Logan Shaw’s matter has been dealt with, I’ll head back now! I still need to make dinner for Julian.”
Evelyn responded, and after waving goodbye to Cecilia Lynch, she walked over to Yvette.
Looking Yvette up and down, Evelyn asked, “Did Liam Shaw bother you again?”
Yvette was taken aback, clearly not understanding why Evelyn would suddenly ask this question.
“He called me,” Yvette said softly, “but I didn’t answer.”
“You didn’t answer the call, did he keep sending you messages?” Evelyn asked eagerly, sounding very curious.
Yvette shook her head.
“Then what could he want from you?” Evelyn was puzzled, “But you really dislike him, right?”
Yvette frowned, not replying, but her displeasure was evident.
Evelyn gave an awkward smile. Although she hadn’t interacted much with Liam Shaw, she felt that it was best if Yvette and Liam Shaw didn’t spark any romantic interest.
Otherwise, even though Liam Shaw was quite accomplished, the thought of his personality and ruthless behavior made it seem like Yvette would be a rose stuck in cow dung.
Thinking about it, Evelyn couldn’t help but laugh.
Yvette disliked Liam Shaw so much, there’s no way she could be interested in him!
Moreover, with Liam Shaw’s family background, his family would likely oppose him marrying Yvette.
Evelyn felt she was worrying for nothing.
Just as she was about to go home with Yvette, a car stopped in front of Evelyn.
The car window rolled down, and Evelyn saw that the person in the back seat was Caden Lockwood’s mother, Lily Thorne.
Evelyn was startled and immediately stood up straight, looking very respectful.
Yvette beside her was also on guard.
“Get in the car, I need to talk to you,” Lily Thorne ordered.
Evelyn couldn’t help but look at Yvette, a bit reluctant to interact with her mother-in-law in Caden’s absence.
She knew Lily Thorne didn’t like her and feared she’d cause trouble.
Although her relationship with Caden Lockwood was recently good, Evelyn still felt upset if her mother-in-law didn’t like her.
“What’s this?” Lily Thorne raised an eyebrow, “As your mother-in-law, do I need to worry about my daughter-in-law’s mood just to chat with her?”
Evelyn forced a smile, immediately shaking her head and explaining, “It’s not like you think.”
Seeing Lily Thorne’s displeased expression, Evelyn hesitated for a moment. Though reluctant, she eventually got into the car.
Yvette sat in the front passenger seat, keeping an eye on the back seat’s happenings.
She needed to ensure Evelyn’s safety.
“Your bodyguard is quite loyal, isn’t she?” Lily Thorne’s tone was indifferent, “Caden even got a woman to protect you. Seems like he doesn’t want any men around you?”
Evelyn was embarrassed, unsure of what to say, so she just nodded slightly.
“Does he already have such a strong sense of possession over you?” Lily Thorne asked.
Evelyn kept nodding slightly, feeling like a fool.
She was on pins and needles, wondering when Caden Lockwood would come to rescue her.
“Don’t you have anything you want to say to me?” Lily Thorne asked displeased, “Or do you think now that you’ve won Caden’s heart, my thoughts as a mother-in-law don’t matter at all?”
“Of course not!” Evelyn quickly shook her head and refuted, “It’s just… I’m not good at talking, afraid I might accidentally say something inappropriate.”
