Yun Yiyou watched the five people on the large screen. If the five of them hadn’t blundered their way in, that "Young Master" might have actually pulled off his conspiracy.

But now that he knew about it, there was absolutely no way he would let him succeed.

Yun Yiyou stood up from his chair and looked at the others. "General Zhang, send another elite team over."

He then turned to Beisang. "Chief Bei, you’ll go with them this time."

"The rest of you, prepare yourselves. When the time comes, you will also lead troops into the field."

"We will raze this research institute to the ground," Yun Yiyou declared. Though his words were delivered in his usual tone, they made everyone’s heart tremble.

The King was angry.

Yun Yiyou walked out of the viewing room, Captain Li following behind him.

"Why didn’t you report this sooner?" Yun Yiyou had no intention of letting him off the hook, starting his interrogation the moment they left the viewing room.

Captain Li’s back stiffened at the question. He quickly replied, "When I first heard about this from the five of them in the cooking squad, I didn’t dare report it rashly. I had no concrete proof."

Now that everyone knew, he had finally submitted the report.

Once they reached Captain Li’s office, Yun Yiyou plopped down in a chair. Captain Li rushed to pour him a glass of water.

"Those people from Hong Fei Park—are they dead, or were they taken away for experiments?"

"That’s currently unknown. The one who went into that passage back then was Gu Fei," Captain Li answered.

The questioning continued until Captain Li was unable to answer, at which point Yun Yiyou finally let him be.

The live broadcast continued. On the screen, the group had passed through the long corridor and stopped in front of a door.

The five of them stared at the sealed door, their gazes finally settling on Lin Jingjing. "Sister Lin, can you open it?"

"I don’t think I can," Lin Jingjing said bluntly. "This door is just too Advanced."

After speaking, her eyes fell upon Shi Feng. "How about we let Shi Feng try?"

Shi Feng froze when he heard that.

"I’m just a vase!" Shi Feng protested, and as he spoke, he promptly struck a pose like one.

Gu Kaiwen slung an arm around his shoulder. "Shi Feng, go give it a shot."

"Don’t hold back your power."

Shi Feng shoved him away and retorted, "Why don’t you go? You’re so strong, can’t you just go up there and smash this door with one punch?"

"Me? Strong?" Gu Kaiwen was incredulous. "Who are you trying to fool?"

He couldn’t even do a thousand push-ups in two hours—and he was supposed to be strong?

"Let’s each give it a try," Mo Xuan said.

At Mo Xuan’s suggestion, Gu Kaiwen grunted. "Alright, fine."

He rolled up his sleeves and stood before the door. The other four quickly moved aside to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.

"If I break my hand, Feng He, you have to save me," Gu Kaiwen said. He then clenched his fist and smashed it into the door with all his might.

He was incredibly strong. The punch caved the door inward.

Looking at the dented iron door, Gu Kaiwen’s confidence surged.

He hammered it with a few more forceful punches, and with the final blow, the door burst open.

The door crashed to the floor with a loud BANG. Seeing this, the other four burst into applause.

"Incredible!" Shi Feng exclaimed. "Six punches and you sent the whole door flying!"

"So strong."

The group didn’t hold back their praise, showering Gu Kaiwen with compliments.

Gu Kaiwen, a little embarrassed by their praise, raised a hand to scratch his head and chuckled. "No, no, I’m not that strong."

"Look out!" Just then, Lin Jingjing saw several pitch-black, crawling creatures suddenly charge out from inside. They were incredibly fast. The word "look out" was on her lips, but her spiritual power was faster.

She instantly threw up a large, golden barrier, sealing the creatures off.

Mo Xuan had already yanked Gu Kaiwen back from the doorway, even as he called out a warning to Feng He, "Feng He, stay safe!"

"Got it."

The group immediately drew their laser guns, their senses on high alert.

The monsters crawled on all fours, their eyes were blood-red, and the hearts in their chests pounded audibly.

These were Steel Beasts.

"Be careful, they’re Steel Beasts," Lin Jingjing said, having gotten a clear look at the mutant beasts charging them.

"Understood," they replied, gripping their laser guns tightly.

The sudden appearance of the Steel Beasts gave the online viewers a huge scare. The camera drone had been flying in the lead, so when the first Steel Beast lunged out, it was like it was attacking the viewers face-to-face.

With its cavernous maw, white fangs, and ferocious appearance, it scared the daylights out of many of the more timid viewers.

[AHHHH, THAT SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME! IT POPPED OUT OF NOWHERE AND I FELL RIGHT ON MY BUTT!]

[I got scared too! My mom asked me what I was yelling about in my room, boo hoo hoo.]

[You guys are such wimps. That was nothing.]

The comment section was in chaos, but the group couldn’t see it. The five of them were completely focused on the Steel Beasts hammering against the golden barrier.

"What do we do now?" Feng He asked, watching as more and more Steel Beasts piled up against the barrier, like a human pyramid.

The view into the room was completely blocked; all they could see was a writhing mass of Steel Beasts.

"Don’t tell me the whole room is full of Steel Beasts," Shi Feng asked, his voice laced with fear.

"I think it is," Mo Xuan chimed in.

As everyone was at a loss, they all turned to Lin Jingjing, hoping she could come up with a plan.

Lin Jingjing, however, just stood there with her gaze fixed on the Steel Beasts. The creatures were creating a deafening racket, endlessly pounding on the golden barrier that blocked the doorway.

Lin Jingjing took a step forward, and the other four immediately tensed up.

"I know how to handle this," Lin Jingjing said calmly.

She raised her hand and laid it against the barrier.

A faint smile touched Lin Jingjing’s lips. Instantly, innumerable golden needles erupted from the barrier’s surface. The needles were large, thick, and razor-sharp.

Not only that, but Lin Jingjing also controlled them, making them branch out as they extended. Any Steel Beast pressed against the golden barrier was impaled by the needles until it looked like a pincushion.

Lin Jingjing pulled back her hand, and at that moment, the extended golden needles slowly retracted.

Feng He rushed forward to support her, asking nervously, "Are you alright? Is your spiritual power nearly depleted?"

Lin Jingjing shook her head. "No."

Soon, all the Steel Beasts were dead. The scene inside the doorway was once again visible to the five of them.

It was a circular corridor. It seemed the base extended even further down.

Mo Xuan and Gu Kaiwen moved forward to carefully inspect the fallen Steel Beasts, making sure every single one had been killed by the golden needles.

The golden barrier could only be removed once they were certain all the creatures were dead.

After making sure Lin Jingjing was fine, Feng He glanced at the Steel Beasts on the ground. Seeing no signs of life, she announced, "They’re all dead."
