Sorry, Our Captain Is a True All-Rounder
Chapter 133: Monster
Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Monster
Lin Jingjing walked over, put an arm around her shoulder, and pulled her against her chest to comfort her. "Yes," she said. "They will all go to hell."
"If the people from the Empire don’t send them to hell, then we will."
’Having a large population doesn’t give anyone the right to waste lives like this. It doesn’t mean people can be treated this way.’
’Everyone has the right to decide how they live in this galaxy. Only they can decide whether they live or die.’
’No one has the right to make that decision for someone else.’
In the quiet room, the only sound was the sniffling of the small group.
It was clear they were all deeply grieved.
CRACK—
The sound of shattering glass rang out, followed by water splashing onto the floor.
The loud noise immediately drew their attention.
The five of them looked over to see a nearby glass container shattered, its fluid spilled across the floor. The woman who had been inside was now standing outside the broken vessel.
The young woman stood perfectly still, her head bowed. Her long hair clung to her cheeks, completely obscuring her expression.
The woman just stood there quietly, completely still. After one container shattered, the glass containers beside it also slowly began to break.
One after another, the women inside emerged.
Watching this unfold, the group instantly grew tense.
They tightened their grips on their laser guns, their eyes filled with wariness.
Soon, the young women began to move. Their arms shifted mechanically, like rusted joints grinding into place.
The creatures within their swollen abdomens started to stir. The moment they moved, the thin skin of their bellies, unable to withstand the thrashing, was torn open.
Bloody fluid poured out. Then, all the women slowly turned to face the five of them. Their heads were tilted, and the corners of their mouths were split open to their ears.
The gentle, serene look they’d had in the containers was gone. They bared rows of fangs, their eyes were completely black, and their abdomens gaped open to reveal the hairless mutant beasts within.
The bodies of the mutant beasts were fused with the women; the two were inseparable.
The beast’s head was small, but its arms were long and thin. It used its arms to brace itself on the floor before slowly advancing on the five of them.
As they advanced, they forced the human hosts to speak: "I’m so scared..."
"Save me..."
The voices were grating, hoarse and aged, as if their throats had been scraped with thorns.
Seeing so many of these creatures advancing on them, the five began to panic.
’Are these even mutant beasts?’
’They’re not mutant beasts anymore. They’re some kind of human-beast hybrid... disgusting and hideous.’
They gripped their laser guns, and as the creatures charged, they pulled the triggers and opened fire.
But the monsters were incredibly fast, moving at speeds that were almost impossible to follow with the naked eye.
"You’ve got to be kidding me! How are they this broken?!" Shi Feng exclaimed in shock, watching the mutant beasts move so fast it looked like they were teleporting.
Not only that, but their arms could also extend and grow larger.
They were also incredibly strong. A single strike of a hand was enough to shatter the steel-plated floor.
"Ghhh..." the creatures rasped, lunging at the group once more.
Lin Jingjing hastily erected a barrier, but these monsters were nothing like the mutant beasts they had fought outside.
Dozens of monstrous hands slammed into the barrier, shattering it instantly.
The backlash from the barrier’s destruction caused Lin Jingjing to violently cough up a mouthful of blood. She weakened and staggered, and the others immediately rushed to her side to support her.
"Where are you hurt?" Feng He asked anxiously. "Is it your spiritual power or physical?"
’No one ever told me it would hurt this much when something made from spiritual power was destroyed!’ Lin Jingjing felt like her head was going to explode.
Gu Kaiwen, Shi Feng, and Mo Xuan formed a protective circle around the two women, using their laser guns to continuously fire upon the swarming arms to beat them back.
"My spiritual power," Lin Jingjing answered. She felt terrible, and her face paled instantly.
Feng He asked, "Is your head in a lot of pain?"
"Yeah."
"I understand." Feng He pulled Lin Jingjing into an embrace, then looked at the three men. "You three, hold them off!"
"Got it," Mo Xuan replied.
Feng He’s singing could heal spiritual power. She cleared her throat and began to sing.
She only knew a few nursery rhymes from her childhood, so she began to sing one she had sung many times before.
As the gentle, beautiful melody reached her ears, Lin Jingjing, whose head had been hurting so badly she’d wanted to smash it against a wall, slowly felt her brow unfurrow.
After finishing the verse, Feng He quickly asked, "Any better?"
"Much better," Lin Jingjing replied. The pain in her head was gone.
"I’m almost out of ammo!" Shi Feng shouted.
"I’m already out," Gu Kaiwen said, squeezing the trigger repeatedly. Not a single Laser Bullet fired.
Seeing the monstrous hands still swarming toward them, Gu Kaiwen gritted his teeth, took a step forward, and threw a punch.
He didn’t know when it had started, but his strength had been gradually increasing. The force of his punch completely obliterated the arm lunging for him.
The monster let out a piercing shriek of pain. "GAAAAH—"
The sound was so sharp it made them all cringe.
Lin Jingjing raised her laser gun and fired a shot at the monster’s head.
The monster that was hit in the head immediately stopped moving. The host body also froze, standing as still as a statue.
"Aim for their heads!" Lin Jingjing shouted to the others, having discovered their weakness.
Now that they knew the weak point, things became much simpler. Lin Jingjing reached into her Space Ring, pulled out several energy packs for the laser guns, and tossed them to the others.
With their laser guns reloaded, they resumed their attack on the monsters.
This time, they stopped wasting shots on the monsters’ arms and aimed for their heads.
It didn’t matter if it was the host’s head or the beast’s—they shot them both.
But there were simply too many. Their ammunition was running low again, and they still hadn’t killed them all.
For every batch that emerged from the containers, a second and third would follow.
The room was massive, and it was filled with nothing but these monsters.
If they didn’t find a way out soon, they were all going to die here.
"This way! Run!" Mo Xuan shouted, spotting an elevator in the distance. "To the elevator!"
Hearing his call, the group broke into a run toward the elevator. But whoever was watching the monitors wasn’t about to let them get away so easily.
They closed the elevator doors remotely, trapping them on the floor.
Seeing the elevator doors slowly slide shut, the group skidded to a halt.
"Fuck!" Shi Feng cursed, staring at the closed doors. "We can’t die here!"
