’Well, I can look forward to that.’

"Alright, we’ll look forward to it," Lin Jingjing said, which served as her answer to Captain Li.

They would wait and see. If things didn’t go their way, they’d just wash their hands of the whole thing and walk.

Shi Feng just felt incredibly hungry. He raised a hand and rubbed his stomach, which felt completely hollow.

He glanced at the Nutrient Liquid in his hand. He didn’t want to drink it. He wanted real food!

And so, he looked up at Captain Li with a grin and said, "Captain Li, are you done talking?"

"Just about. What’s up?" Captain Li asked.

Shi Feng started making his demands. "In that case, could you whip something up in the kitchen for us? Maybe some noodles?"

"The five of us haven’t eaten in days. Our stomachs are totally empty."

Hearing Shi Feng’s words, Captain Li chuckled.

’This kid, honestly. He’s already starting to order me around.’

Captain Li raised a hand and ruffled Shi Feng’s head, messing up his already disheveled hair even more.

"You little brat, ordering me around now, are you?" he grumbled at Shi Feng, but he was already walking toward the kitchen.

Watching Captain Li head into the kitchen, the others gave Shi Feng a thumbs-up. Only Shi Feng could get away with that, thanks to how much Captain Li doted on him.

"Hmph, hmph." Shi Feng lifted his chin proudly, looking incredibly pleased with himself.

Once in the kitchen, Captain Li started boiling water. When it was ready, he dropped in the noodles. Considering how long it had been since they’d last eaten, he put in a lot of noodles, along with vegetables, eggs, and meat. Soon, a huge pot of noodles was ready.

The five of them were already waiting on the side, each holding a large bowl. They were swallowing their saliva frantically. Shi Feng, in particular, kept asking, "Captain Li, are you done yet?"

"We’re starving to death here."

"Almost, just be patient for a little longer," Captain Li called back, stirring the noodles in the pot with a spatula.

A short while later, Captain Li shouted, "It’s ready!"

The five of them charged forward like a pack of starving wolves, grabbing noodles directly from the pot with their chopsticks. Seeing them like this, Captain Li shouted, "Slow down!"

"There’s more if you run out, I’ll cook another batch."

The five of them acted as if they hadn’t heard him, scrambling for the noodles in the pot as if they’d miss out on a meal if they were even a second too slow.

Captain Li watched from the side. He knew they were truly famished.

With so many people crowded together, it was hard to get at the noodles. Mo Xuan scooped some for Feng He before filling his own bowl.

After they had all filled their bowls to the brim, they carried them outside the back door to eat. The group squatted there, heads down, devouring their noodles.

"These noodles are so good."

"Yeah."

"Here, have this meat." Mo Xuan picked the meat from his own bowl and put it in Feng He’s. "And this, too."

Feng He didn’t respond, just kept his head down, shoveling noodles into his mouth.

After finishing their dinner in no time, they sat there looking up at the pitch-black sky. No one said a word.

Perhaps they were too tired, and no one felt like talking.

Or perhaps they were just full, sitting and digesting their food.

Now that they suddenly had free time, none of them knew what to do.

"I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow," Gu Kaiwen said. No one had assigned them any tasks.

"Let’s go shopping then," Lin Jingjing suggested. "We’ve been so busy for so long, we deserve to relax a bit."

"Tomorrow, we’re going to have a blast!" Shi Feng shouted, jumping to his feet.

His shout made everyone nearby turn to look. Not wanting to be stared at by so many people, the others shyly covered their faces.

"Will you shut up?" Lin Jingjing whispered, tugging on his clothes. "This is kind of embarrassing."

"What’s there to be afraid of? It’s my face to lose," Shi Feng said, unfazed.

"Haha..." The others laughed awkwardly. ’But since we’re all squatting here together, you’re embarrassing all of us.’

"Alright, let’s head back," Gu Kaiwen said, getting up with his bowl. "I’m going to go work out."

"I’m going to train until I can kill a giant monster with a single punch!" Gu Kaiwen was constantly thinking about training and improving his strength.

"Give yourself a day off. Don’t push yourself so hard," Shi Feng said, patting his shoulder comfortingly. "Being too tired is bad for you."

"I don’t feel tired. I’m full of energy right now!" As he spoke, Gu Kaiwen clenched his fists and flexed his muscles.

The group chatted and laughed as they left, put their bowls away, and returned to their dorms. Once back, everyone went about their own business.

Lin Jingjing let out her little animals one by one to groom their fur, while Feng He sat nearby, reading a medical book and taking notes. Perhaps because they had slept so much before, none of them slept that night. When dawn broke, they were still wide awake and full of energy.

When they checked with the guys, it turned out the three of them were the same.

In that case, it was time to get up and go have some fun!

Before leaving, Lin Jingjing even checked the traditional Chinese almanac. She only felt at ease after seeing it was a "favorable day for travel."

The group put on their backpacks and hats and set off. Leaving the First Corps behind for the big city, they were ecstatic as they sat in the levitating car.

They had left rather early. By the time Captain Li sent them a message, the five of them had already arrived in the big city.

After they disembarked, they once again took in the sight of the metropolis, its streets bustling and packed with people.

They couldn’t be happier. Having spent so much time at the First Corps, it had been a long while since they had seen such a prosperous city.

Just as they stepped into the most luxurious shopping mall, Lin Jingjing’s Star Ring suddenly chimed.

She glanced at the caller ID. It was Captain Li.

"Who’s calling?" Feng He asked from the side.

"It’s Captain Li." After replying, Lin Jingjing accepted the call. Captain Li’s stern, handsome face immediately appeared on a large blue screen. "Good morning, Captain Li," Lin Jingjing greeted with a cheerful smile. The other four gathered around, also grinning and greeting him, "Morning!"

But when Captain Li saw the background behind them, he knew exactly where they were. He frowned and said, "Why didn’t you tell me you were going out?"

"Well, we didn’t have anything to do, so we came out to have some fun."

"When are you coming back?"

Lin Jingjing shook her head. "Not sure. We just got here. Maybe tonight."

At that moment, Captain Li glanced at a few people in the distance, his eyes signaling that there was nothing he could do.

Yun Yiyou frowned, then turned and left without a backward glance. The Army Commanders behind him hurriedly followed.

Only after they were gone did Captain Li speak again. "Alright, just come back early."

"OK." Lin Jingjing made a hand gesture and hung up. Then she said, "Someone was looking for us."

"Who would be looking for us?" Mo Xuan asked, confused.
