Soul Emperor Awakening
Chapter 608 - 606: No Difference Between One and Two
With a flash of black light, Hei Xianyun, a genius disciple of the Black Dragon Race, descended from the sky. He slammed heavily into the spot where Lin Xuan had just been standing. A deafening BOOM echoed as the impact gouged a massive crater in the ground, sending a black shockwave sweeping out in all directions.
Fortunately, Lin Xuan was on high alert and dodged it in an instant. But judging from the terrifying force of the attack, his opponent had clearly been aiming for a one-hit kill!
Lin Xuan was stunned by his appearance. ’So, I’m not the only one in this forest. There are probably quite a few others here, and I’ve finally run into one.’ To be more precise, this disciple of the Black Dragon Race had deliberately come for him; this was no chance encounter.
"A disciple of the Black Dragon Race. It seems you really refuse to let me go!" Lin Xuan swiftly retrieved the Soul Slayer Rod from his Storage Ring, bracing for a major battle. His opponent was a disciple at the Peak of Spirit Pill Stage, his strength truly astonishing.
"Let you go?" Hei Xianyun cracked his knuckles and squinted at Lin Xuan, not having expected his attack to miss. "You killed our Young Master. Did you think the Dragon King would let you go so easily?"
"Then enough with the pointless talk. Let’s make this quick!"
Lin Xuan sneered. Gripping the Soul Slayer Rod, he charged toward Hei Xianyun. With a forceful stomp, he kicked up a vortex of Flame and lunged forward. In an instant, the "Soul" inscription on the Soul Slayer Rod filled with a red glow, igniting its power amplification.
"Extreme Point Inch Light!"
He wasted no more words, swinging the Soul Slayer Rod and thrusting it at Hei Xianyun. To avoid creating a commotion, he had to use a more controlled technique—one that could concentrate all his power into a single point and detonate it violently upon his opponent.
Hei Xianyun had some understanding of Lin Xuan’s power, so he didn’t dare to be careless. He rapidly circulated the black Elemental Power within him, and black Dragon Scales erupted to cover his entire body.
"Dragon Devouring Spirit!"
A black glow emanated from Hei Xianyun’s palms as the black Elemental Power within him poured out. It surged toward the charging Lin Xuan, seeking to envelop him and seal off every possible escape route.
’Another one of those attacks that can invade the body? It’s useless against me!’
Lin Xuan gave the Soul Slayer Rod in his hand a slight twist. The red-filled "Soul" inscription was instantly flooded with an azure glow, and in the blink of an eye, the Yulan Sacred Fire enveloped the entire rod.
HISS!
The Soul Slayer Rod plunged into the surging black mist. Wherever it touched, the mist was instantly frozen solid, allowing him to pierce through with ease. In just a few breaths, he was standing before Hei Xianyun, the dual red and blue glow of his weapon stabbing viciously toward the man’s chest!
A terrifying sense of crisis welled up in Hei Xianyun’s heart. He had thought he was already overestimating Lin Xuan’s power and had attacked with his greatest strength, yet it had been instantly frozen and shattered by the Yulan Sacred Fire!
"Soul-Devouring Claw!"
Hei Xianyun roared, a dragon’s cry erupting from his throat. His right hand instantly transformed into a massive black dragon claw, and he swiped at the incoming attack. The tough claw possessed a hardness on par with a Divine Artifact Level weapon!
"Hmph!"
A mocking glint appeared in Lin Xuan’s eyes. ’Trying to block my attack with his physical body? He’s simply asking to die!’
The two attacks collided heavily. Amplified by the inscriptions, the terrifying power stacked layer upon layer. His Bloodline Power also exploded outward, concentrating a force of tens of millions of pounds at the rod’s tip as it struck Hei Xianyun’s hand!
BOOM!
The terrifying force blasted Hei Xianyun backward. The black mist he had released was scattered, and he was sent flying into the approaching Parasol Tree Monsters. He was moving so fast that before the monsters could even attack, his rock-hard body slammed into them, snapping several in half before he finally came to a stop.
Hei Xianyun’s body was as hard as a Divine Artifact. Propelled by Lin Xuan’s attack, he became a living cannonball, so it was no surprise that he instantly killed these Essence Pill Stage Level Parasol Tree Monsters on impact.
"Cough, cough..."
Hei Xianyun struggled back to his feet, coughing up several mouthfuls of black blood. He stared at Lin Xuan in the distance, his eyes wide with disbelief. His own desperate, all-out attack was completely dwarfed by Lin Xuan’s power. He was utterly outmatched!
That absolutely Heaven-Defying power had shattered his dragon claw. The Dragon Scales were pulverized, and a layer of frost now covered the limb, rapidly seeping into his arm. A bone-chilling cold pierced him to the marrow.
’My right arm is ruined...’
Hei Xianyun’s expression darkened. A single move had ruined his right arm. The memory of that terrifying power still made his heart pound with fear. ’If that had struck my chest,’ he thought, ’I’d have lost half my life, at least.’
His body was swaying, on the verge of collapse, but he managed to stand firm.
"Truly, you are the human who defeated our Young Master. I never imagined your power would be this great. This was our oversight..." Hei Xianyun’s face was grim. He already knew it was impossible for him to defeat Lin Xuan alone.
The human wielding that long rod filled him with a dreadful fear. Most importantly, his own techniques were completely useless against him!
"Oh? You can still stand?" Lin Xuan twirled his long rod as he looked at him, then said coldly, "Then it’s time to end this. I don’t have much time to waste on you!"
With another casual swing of his rod, he lashed out at Hei Xianyun. The red and blue lights intertwined, converging into a single, brilliant point that shot forward, carving a deep scar in the earth as it flew.
Just as he was about to press his attack, a streak of black light suddenly shot out from the nearby forest, aiming straight for him. Without hesitation, Lin Xuan converted his thrust into a swing, redirecting his rod to intercept the incoming black light.
BOOM!
The streak of black light was easily shattered by his rod, but it writhed like a snake, rapidly coiling around the Soul Slayer Rod. With a slight twist, the "Soul" inscription on the rod flared with blue light. FWOOSH! The Yulan Sacred Fire erupted, instantly freezing the coiling black light, which then shattered into ice shards and fell to the ground.
’Another one?’ Lin Xuan glanced over. The attack had merely been a distraction. When he looked, he saw another disciple of the Black Dragon Race standing beside Hei Xianyun, quickly feeding him an Elixir Pill to help him recover from his injuries.
"You’re a little late," Hei Xianyun said to his companion with a weak smile.
"I was a bit late. This forest is pretty big... But now, it’s time to end this." Hei Xianfeng turned to look at Lin Xuan, his smile brimming with confidence, as if the two of them together could easily defeat him.
Lin Xuan paid no mind to their knowing smiles. He just gave his rod a light swing and chuckled, "One opponent or two, it makes no difference."
’If I can’t even beat two of them,’ he thought, ’then I’ve wasted all these years!’
