Chapter 1364: Star-Eating Entity_4

  • Next Chapter

Even though a star’s extreme heat was terrifying, the Armor of the biological fleet possessed the ability to isolate Plasma.

And a star itself was a gigantic mass of Plasma.

As long as they didn’t directly enter the interior of the star, the temperature in the outer layers alone could not yet threaten the Insect Race Fleet.

The Insect Race Fleet was still, as before, composed purely of Hercules Level bio-ships, two hundred in number.

It was not a large number, because this first wave of attack was still only a probe.

Ever since the last time Chen Ming launched an assault on the Plane Nightmare, and the Plane Nightmare unleashed some kind of ultra–large-scale attack, Chen Ming had already made up his mind.

In any engagement with this type of enemy, he had to probe first, to avoid meaningless losses.

Although for Chen Ming, losses were in themselves meaningless, he still chose to maintain this habit.

And the Insect Race Fleet, just like last time, had prepared a large number of different types of Weapons, to test how much damage the Star-Eating creature itself would take from different classes of Weapon.

Just as the Star Eater had finished its beam attack and turned, preparing to return into the star,

that diverse barrage of Weapons from the Insect Race Fleet fell upon the body and tail that had not yet completely sunk back into the star.

That tail was directly severed, the regular icosahedral head was blasted straight through, and countless wounds were left all over its body.

Vast amounts of Stellar Material sprayed out from the Star-Eating creature’s wounds, scattering into space, spilling back toward the star.

The results from all the Weapon tests were immediately relayed in full to Chen Ming.

It was clear that, when facing a creature capable of dwelling inside a star, neither Solid Bullet Weapon nor Energy Weapon performed particularly well.

Solid Bullet Weapon would be melted by the horrific high temperatures, and Energy Weapon would be offset by the star’s high-level Energy.

But the Arc Weapon remained highly effective; this concept derived from rad-energy, a damage type that struck directly at the essence, had consistently good results against any enemy.

Both the pierced head and the severed tail were the achievements of the Arc Weapon.

At this moment, the wounded Star-Eating creature did not immediately slip back into the star, but instead crawled out of it.

The light along its body was flickering at an extremely high frequency, as if it were roaring in rage through that intense radiance.

The wound on its icosahedral head rapidly healed, the severed tail regrew at a speed visible to the naked eye, and all of the tail tips simultaneously aimed at Chen Ming’s Insect Race Fleet.

Chen Ming’s gaze had only just swept over the live-combat Weapon data and the enraged Star-Eating creature,

when his attention was drawn away by the condition of the star itself.

Because he suddenly realized that some of the Fleet’s attacks had not directly struck the Star-Eating creature, but had instead landed on the star.

This in itself was very normal, but what was not normal was that those attack methods which fell into the star seemed to have pierced some sort of barrier.

They allowed the Energy from within the star to radiate out through the breached barrier.

This allowed Chen Ming to see that the material inside the star still maintained high Energy.

Although it was certainly weaker than before, compared to the almost “cold” stellar surface, the Energy contained in the star’s interior was still barely sufficient to sustain a normal cosmic environment.

Chen Ming understood.

The Star-Eating creature had not truly drained the star’s Energy dry.

It had indeed siphoned off a great deal of the star’s Energy, but at the same time it secreted or Manufactured a certain substance that coated the star’s surface.

This substance restricted the outward dissipation of the star’s Energy, concentrating it in the interior for the Star-Eating creature’s own use.

It was like a Dyson Sphere.

This had once been nothing more than a purely theoretical concept for collecting the entirety of a star’s Energy.

Now, some part of it had been realized by such a Giant Beast lurking in the depths of the starry void.

There was no time for Chen Ming to think any further.

Because at this moment, the Star-Eating creature’s counterattack had already arrived at the Insect Race Fleet’s front.
