Chapter 73 | My Life Has Been A Waste!
Chapter 73: 73 | My Life Has Been A Waste!
[WARNING.]
[LORD-BOSS ENEMY DETECTED.]
Andrew’s expression shifted and his face changed drastically.
He had seen elite, bosses but he had never met a lord-boss monsters. He didn’t even know BOSSES could be classified!
"Lord-Boss," he breathed.
A massive crater yawned open, sending chunks of rock flying like shrapnel.
And from that crater, something enormous began to rise.
Andrew stared silently with perched throat.
It was gigantic, nearly fifteen meters tall, it looked like a massive house.
Even bigger than his dormitory.
Its body was forged from what seemed like obsidian steel, plates of natural armor layered so thick they appeared impenetrable. Its muscles bulged grotesquely, each one the size of a small vehicle.
And above that monstrous body, seven enormous rhinoceros heads moved independently on long, serpentine necks,
A new notification appeared.
[Five-Star Lord Boss — Five-Headed Rhino Tyrant.]
Andrew’s eyes traveled upward. Above the seven heads, floating, were its health bars.
HP: 20,000
He let out a slow breath. "Alright, big guy. Let’s see who breaks first."
---
Meanwhile, inside the observation room, the atmosphere was thick enough to cut.
Nobody dared breathe. The three suited officials stood frozen in front of the floating holographic screens, their faces pale. Sweat dripped down Kellan’s temple, but he didn’t seem to notice. He was too busy staring at the health bars of the Lord Boss and the tiny, lone figure standing before it.
"This... he actually reached the S-Tier in Hell Mode," he finally choked out.
The older woman with silver-streaked hair, named Mira, shook her head slowly. "I’ve worked here twenty years. I’ve seen this happen exactly twice. Once was a Level 20 prodigy from the capital. The other..." She trailed off, unable to finish.
The third official, a stocky man named Bors, muttered under his breath, "What kind of freak reaches this stage at Level 7? Is this how crazy ’Maryland Academy students are?"
Principal Constant remained silent. His arms were folded, but his fingers were tight against his sleeves.
Even he, the old man who had seen countless geniuses was shocked.
Andrew had hidden his strength, sure, but this? What sort of freak was this guy.
---
On the battlefield, Andrew stared at the gigantic creature. For the first time since entering the trial, his expression grew changed.
The silver sword felt small and useless in his hand. Even with Flowing Phantom, even with Violent Strike, victory wasn’t guaranteed against something with five health bars and that kind of raw speed.
Then the beast roared.
’ROOOOOOOOOAAAAARRRRR!!’
The sound hit him like a physical blow.
The ground beneath Andrew’s feet splintered, cracks racing outward in jagged lines. Without warning, the monster moved.
’BOOOOOOM.’
The air behind it exploded. One moment it was fifteen meters away; the next, it was already on top of him. Andrew’s pupils shrank. Fast.
Far too fast.
If he had relied on his normal eyesight, all he would have seen was a blur of darkness before getting crushed.
But he wasn’t using his eyes.
His Omniscience Perception had already mapped the creature’s trajectory the instant its muscles tensed.
He saw the arc of the enormous claw descending toward him, a claw with enough force to flatten a building.
He saw exactly where it would land.
He saw everything.
And Andrew smiled he knew what exactly to use.
In the real world, that skill had a cooldown of seven days. A trump card held in reserve for life-or-death situations.
But this was virtual reality. Cooldown restrictions meant nothing here.
Andrew slowly clenched his right fist. The air around his hand began to warp.
A terrifying pressure gathered, invisible but undeniable, like the weight of a storm about to break.
Tiny fractures appeared in the space around his knuckles, hairline cracks in reality itself, glowing with a faint white light.
The sound that followed was a low, whine, as if the world was crying out in protest!!!
Then Andrew punched forward. His voice echoed across the battlefield, calm but carrying an authority that made the very air still.
"Heaven Shattering Punch."
"RUMBLE!!!"
The moment his fist extended fully, reality shattered. The air in front of him imploded, collapsing inward like a crushed can before exploding outward in a cone of pure, white destruction.
Space itself cracked.
Tiny tears spread from his knuckles, black veins against the gray sky, and for a split second you could see something beyond the, it was the void.
The fist touched the Lord Boss’s descending claw.
And there was silence. Just one fraction of a second where the world seemed to hold its breath.
Then—
"KA-BOOOOOOOM!"
The monster’s gigantic claw shattered instantly.
Fragments of obsidian armor and flesh exploded outward like shrapnel. The destructive force didn’t stop. It climbed. The arm disintegrated, the shoulder burst apart, the chest caved inward, and all five heads roaring in defiance, exploded simultaneously.
In the next second, the entire 15-meter monster was nothing but millions of glowing motes of light, drifting upward like a swarm of dying stars.
Andrew stood with his fist still extended, the white cracks in reality slowly sealing shut. The wind from the blast ruffled his hair, and then everything was still.
’DING.’
A notification appeared, soft and almost gentle compared to the chaos that had just unfolded.
[Congratulations.]
[S-Rank Ultra License Acquired.]
[You Have Completed The Lord Trial.]
[Would You Like To Continue to SS-Rank Arena?]
Andrew stared at the screen quietly, then let his fist drop. He was mentally exhausted after so many battles. Even if his body recovered immediately after every battle due to the virtual rule he was atill quite tired.
Moreover, he didn’t need to show off so much. Sometimes the tallest trees gets uprooted by the wind.
He shook his head and rejected the system prompt.
"No."
He had already revealed far too much.
Continuing meant exposing even more hidden cards, and that wasn’t happening.
He spoke to the void. "End simulation."
The world instantly faded into darkness.
---
Inside the observation room was total silence.
"My life has been a waste, I can’t work here anymore."
