Chapter 72 | LORD-BOSS!
Chapter 72: 72 | LORD-BOSS!
Meanwhile, inside the observation room, no one was breathing normally.
The holographic screens showed Andrew’s transformed figure, wreathed in crimson energy, standing among five colossal boss monsters.
The officials stared with wide eyes. One of them, a thin man with a clipboard, actually stumbled backward and bumped into a table.
"T-This..." he stammered. "He has a bloodline transformation ability with his monstrous strength?"
Mira, the older woman, shook her head slowly. "It’s a primordial-type bloodline. You can tell from the energy signature. Those are incredibly rare. I’ve only seen records of a handful in the whole country."
Kellan’s voice was barely a whisper. "So he’s not just an S-Rank candidate... he’s got an ancient bloodline on top of it? What is this kid?"
Principal Constant stood with his arms folded, watching the screen in silence. But the slight curve on his lips betrayed his amusement. He had known about the bloodline, of course. He had seen it during the assassination attempt. But seeing it fully unleashed, even in a simulation, was something else entirely. The old man said nothing, just watched.
---
On the battlefield, the countdown hit zero.
[BEGIN.]
The five boss monsters roared at the same time.
"ROOOOAR!"
The sound was like thunder cracking inside a small room. The ground shook. The air vibrated. Any normal person would have been stunned, frozen in place by the sheer noise and pressure.
Andrew vanished without a trace.
There was no blur, no afterimage, just empty space where a five-meter giant had been a heartbeat before. The nearest boss barely had time to register the disappearance before a cold voice echoed across the battlefield.
"Violent Strike."
Andrew reappeared in the air above the first monster, the silver sword raised high. But this was no ordinary slash.
The blade erupted with destructive force, crackling with red and silver energy that twisted together like a drill.
The air around it screamed.
Then he swung.
A single slash cut through space itself. The arc of energy didn’t just hit the first boss, it expanded, tearing outward in a crescent wave that caught all five monsters at once.
"BANG!"
The battlefield trembled. Cracks spread wider. Dust clouds erupted. The health bars above the bosses flickered wildly as the damage registered.
His muscles coiled like springs. Energy surged down his arm and into the silver sword, making the blade hum with a dangerous, high-pitched whine. His lips moved, barely a whisper.
Then he moved.
’BOOOOOOM.’
The ground beneath his feet cracked as he launched.
Hundreds of afterimages exploded around his body as countless slashes erupted in every direction at once.
’SHING! SHING! SHING! SHING! SHING!’
The blade struck the five colossal Rhino Bosses simultaneously. It was like a wave of silver lightning crashing against five mountains of flesh.
Deep cuts tore through their hardened gray hides, massive sparks flying where steel met bone-like armor. The air itself screamed under the sheer speed of the assault, a continuous shriek that echoed across the empty wasteland.
Damage numbers flickered above each monster.
-1000
-1000
-1000
-1000
-1000
His attack blinding and fast they the monsters couldn’t even react to him. When they reacted, he used Flowing Phantom to shift and then move elsewhere to attack.
The numbers ticked down to 9,000, and the monsters barely stumbled.
"
The five Rhino Bosses roared in frustration.
The battlefield instantly descended into chaos. Gigantic fists smashed downward, each impact creating craters that spiderwebbed across the already ruined earth.
Massive horns tore through the air with enough force to split steel.
Shockwaves exploded everywhere, kicking up dust clouds.
His Omniscience Perception stretched across the battlefield like an invisible web, every strand a line of information.
He could feel the shift of weight as a monster prepared to swing. He could map the trajectory of a horn before it even started moving.
It was as though he stood above reality itself, observing the chaos like a god watching chess pieces slide around a board.
And in this game, he was the player and the piece.
Andrew tilted his head. Just a few inches. The horn rushed past so close he felt the wind scrape his cheek, but it touched nothing.
A second beast attacked from the side, claws like scythes slicing horizontally. Andrew twisted his torso, bending at an angle that seemed to ignore human anatomy. The claws sliced through empty air, and he was already moving again.
The third beast decided to end it with both fists. It slammed them down together like a living hammer, aiming to pancake him into the dirt. Andrew vanished. Flowing Phantom.
His body dissolved into an afterimage, a wisp of motion, and the fists smashed into nothing but a fading shadow.
’SHING.’
He reappeared behind the creature instantly, sword already carving through the thick hide at its leg. -1200 flashed above the wound.
Another beast charged, head lowered, horns aimed to impale. Andrew disappeared again, reappearing above it this time.
He slashed downward with both hands, the blade biting deep into the base of a neck. -1400.
A fifth beast thought it had him, claws descending from the blind spot behind.
But Andrew’s perception painted its every move in his mind. He vanished, reappeared directly behind that one too, and his sword traced a silver line across its throat. Blood-red particles sprayed. -1300.
Minutes bled into each other. The Rhino Bosses’ health bars chipped away. 8000. 6000. 4000. The constant slashes, the unending pressure, the total inability to touch their target—it was wearing them down.
Finally, the last beast let out a deafening, desperate roar. It swung wildly, both claws sweeping in a blind rage. Andrew appeared directly before it, calm as a frozen lake. His sword flashed once.
’SHIIIIING.’
The blade traced a vertical line from its chest to the top of its central head. The massive body split apart, two halves sliding in opposite directions before they dissolved into countless glowing particles of light.
With Flowing Phantom, Omniscient Perception, Violent Strike and eventually activating, Berserk skill, he killed his way till he reached the S-Rank arena.
...
The entire battlefield trembled as if the world itself was growling.
A warning notification blazed red before his eyes.
[WARNING.]
[LORD-BOSS ENEMY DETECTED.]
