When the portals leading into the true outlands had combined into one, everyone’s attention had been turned to the phenomenon.

Their whole focus placed on the rare occurrence.

There was no way the army was going into the true outlands at this moment, was there?

Even if the army had been mobilized, what could they do in the face of this world-ending event.

Go fight demons?

Powerful cultivators watched with interest as the combined portal hurled out not only the weak adventurers.

Even the SSS-Rank old monsters, their peers, weren’t spared.

All of them were hurled out of the true outlands.

The supreme formation couldn’t be bothered to afford them any dignity.

The powerful cultivators watching, might not have known what exactly it was that happened inside.

But they had their speculations.

Guesses that were sound.

Still, they were nothing but guesses.

They awaited the firsthand account they would receive from those who had witnessed what happened within the true outlands.

*

Not only the adventurers in all parts of the true outlands.

Even the people from the legacy space had been thrown out as well.

First, the immortal had thrown them out of the legacy space.

All of them, humans, had been together.

They had landed together somewhere in the true outlands.

All of them had still been reeling in the fact that they had escaped alive.

Then they had witnessed the bloodcurdling sight of the true outlands.

Their hearts shook with primal terror.

Before their minds could be assaulted any further, they had been snatched up by the Immortal World’s supreme formation and hurled out of the true outlands.

All of this was something they would never forget their whole lives.

Then an even more shocking sight occured.

It might not have been too surprising to those from the families, powers, and those evicted from the Immortal World.

But to the ordinary F-Rank adventurers, it couldn’t have been more shocking.

They saw people take into the air, and fly off into the distance.

Disappearing beyond the horizon.

They saw others running off into the distance.

With every step they took, they slowly disappeared from sight.

All of the adventurers realized one simple fact.

These were people beyond the F-Rank.

Those who had known what it meant to rank up.

*

In the mortal world.

When the first quake occured.

Its effect had been devastating to the common people.

Unlike The Outlands where a lot of powerful people were gathered.

These people were just mortals with little to no cultivation.

Their towns and villages had no powerful protector.

There was no way for them to survive the effects of the quake unscathed.

The quake might not have destroyed the sky and the earth, like it did in the true outlands.

But there was no way for the mortal world to go through this with no consequences.

Rivers shifted.

Mountains collapsed.

The earth was overturned, and the sky was clouded over.

Numerous villages and small towns were buried by natural disasters that resulted from the quake.

If not for the supreme formation working hard to quell the aftereffects.

Even more people would have died, more homes buried and lost.

All because they lacked the strength to protect themselves.

All because in the presence of immortals, they could do nothing.

This was just the aftermath of a clash between two supreme beings.

Even after layers of buffers.

A disaster like this could not be avoided.

The mortal world might have just gone through a catastrophe, but it would survive.

*

Naturally, these towns and villages belonged under somewhere.

There were the kingdoms, the city-states.

The powers that managed these populations.

All of them had numerous villages and towns under them.

Observing as the world around them went through violent changes.

They did their best to protect their domain.

Their strength was focused on their more prosperous cities.

They knew there was little they could do for the towns and villages under them.

Everyone would have to depend on themselves for survival.

Everything else could be settled after this catastrophe passed.

*

Family.

Home.

What to do after all this?

Everything could only be decided after their survival.

The hearts of everyone in the mortal world was filled with only the thoughts of their safety.

And for those who still had the heart to spare.

They wished for the safety of their families.

The strong protected the weak.

It wasn’t entirely out of the magnanimous feelings that filled their hearts.

The bonds of family.

The desire to preserve all that they held dear to their hearts.

There was also the fact that those with enough strength weren’t too affected by the quake that had its intensity continously reduced by the supreme formation.

The Adventurer Guild also hadn’t slacked off.

They issued all sort of disaster relief missions to their members.

Those who had just come out of the true outlands.

Those already in the mortal world.

All of them were tasked with protecting the people.

Everyone chose their mission carefully.

They chose their missions to be as close to home as possible.

Everyone strived to provide the little protection they could.

They rushed to save the people.

Their people.

The army which had been mobilized, hadn’t been rallied to go fight demons or confront immortals.

They had been mobilized to go protect the people of the mortal world.

It was the reason for their existence after all.

Demons might have been the only enemies they ever fought.

But they had never been the reason for their existence.

Now, it was time for them to answer their true purpose.

There was only so much the supreme formation could do.

There were even more important places that needed its attention.

It was up to the high ranking cultivators of the mortal world to protect the people.

But everyone of them had one thought.

The immortals would definitely not let the mortal world perish.

The Families, the Adventurer Guild, the military and every power in the mortal world knew one fact.

The immortals up there were the only ones who could quell this trouble.

*

The Immortal World.

The grandest height that could possibly exist for human cultivators.

The whole world might have been suffering the effect of the quake.

But the Immortal World remained calm and serene.

Everything proceeded the same as normal.

The quake also reached this place.

But it was only the immortal rank cultivators who felt it.

The mortal rank cultivators continued with their day as normal.

Even the SSS-Rank cultivators were unaware.

Only the Ex-Rank cultivators might have felt some sort of disturbance.

But it was still beyond them to determine what it truly was.

Every immortal had their attention turned towards somewhere beyond the Immortal World itself.

To a place that existed between the Immortal World and the Demon World.

It wasn’t a place that could be perceived through normal sight.

The intersections between the world.

The true outlands.

But the battle that caused this quake wasn’t actually happening in the true outlands.

It was somewhere on an even deeper level.

A space only immortals could perceive.

The residual impact from the fight between the two supreme beings was the cause of all the troubles everyone had gone through.

Most immortals only watched.

They knew this was far beyond them.

The ones who might be able to somewhat intervene also stood back.

They hesitated.

They waited for something.

Even the tiniest leak of aura.

But nothing came.

When they made their minds up to go and plead the two supreme beings to move their fight away from the world.

The Immortal World went silent.

It wasn’t an illusion.

The supreme beings of the Immortal World had awakened.

When everyone thought that was all.

Mighty presences of equal weight also came from the Demon World.

It seemed the supremes of these two worlds already had enough of the troubles caused by these two immortals.
