Chapter 2145: The Human King (I)

On the other side.

Su Yu was exchanging blows with Calamity. His book of civilization was formidable and kept the four corners in check. Calamity wasn’t weak either, however, even though he wasn’t in peak condition. He managed to force Su Yu into a constant retreat.

On the other hand, the dao master of life and death could not overcome the group of Myriad Realms powerhouses. There were a lot of heavyweights in that group.

There was the master of dead spirits, the Human Emperor, the Civil King, the Martial King, the Martial Emperor who was the reincarnated Disorder, the Myriad Saint, Lan Tian...

The dao master of life and death was caught on the back foot as he tried to match them. He was completely surrounded and unable to do anything until another ninth rank joined the fray. That managed to even the two sides.

Myriad Realms was preoccupying three ninth ranks by themselves. New Martial was handling only two. Spring Autumn fought two by herself, and Chaos Sky went toe-to-toe with four ninth ranks.

There were the most number of people around Skyward—a full five ninth ranks. There were another two attacking the Silver Moon faction.

Three more had split off to Li Hao’s side.

Apart from two ninth ranks still hesitating off to the side, twenty-two of them had entered the battlefield. This included Skyward as well.

When counting the dead Five Elements and Disorder, that accounted for all twenty-six ninth ranks who ventured into the depths of the chaos a million years ago.

Twenty-seven ninth ranks had been born in the chaos a million years ago. Order died a very long time from present day. His had truly been a golden age.

And today, the greatest battle ever erupted. It drew in almost all of these august personages. The commotion hadn’t been this great even when they killed Order.

The Human King and Emperor Yu started faltering. It was immensely tiring to fight a ninth rank. However, one of them remained berserk as before and the other continued to be calm. They fought with a tacit understanding and didn’t say anything.

They seemed to be waiting for something and focused only on defense, as well as keeping an eye on the two remaining ninth ranks.

Dao strength filled the void. Everything was in shambles!

The Human King looked over to see that Supreme Zhang and the rest were having a very difficult time. When the supreme looked at Fang Ping, he saw the man remain as unmoving as a mountain. He simply hacked wildly like a berserk demon, forcing the dao master of yin and yang to take a defensive position.

Although the Human King wasn’t the strongest, his infallible style made him conscious on the battlefield.

The two ninth ranks on the sidelines exchanged glances, but still hesitated. They turned to consider the mad Human King.

How about... we take care of this guy? Of course, we don’t need to split up to do it. Why don’t we... annihilate New Martial first?

Three of them had already gone to Li Hao’s side. There were another three with the Myriad Realms powerhouses. New Martial was a veteran world among the three factions and there were only two ninth ranks handling them...

Since the Human King was so ferocious, he could do with some more pressure!

The two hesitating ninth ranks called out, “Yin Yang, we’ll come help you!”

“Fuck you!” swore the Human King. “Do you think I’m an easy target?!”

What right do you have to think that??

There are so many fights all over the battlefield! You guys can hang back and watch the show. Why come to my side?!

What is the basis of your decision??

I don’t know you and haven’t offended you guys, Li Hao has though! The newly arrived Emperor Yu blew up time, so you should want to kill him instead.

Fang Ping raged against the injustice!

“Don’t you guys force me to integrate with New Martial!” he roared! “If I do that and you guys aren’t at full strength, do you honestly think I won’t be able to kill you then?!”

The two ignored him. They had many reasons for choosing the Human King.

Chaos Sky and Skyward were so strong that everyone was a bit wary of them. Meanwhile, Spring Autumn’s side clearly did not need any help. The ninth ranks didn’t want to be involved in the fight between Calamity and Emperor Yu since Calamity was not a good soul either.

Yuan Shuo led the bunch of weaklings that comprised of Silver Moon. They teetered on the edge of disaster as they fought two ninth ranks, so there was no need for additional attention there.

Three ninth ranks had headed to Li Hao. The young man himself was also vicious and devious, so the remaining two ninth ranks were also wary of him.

After a round of analysis... New Martial was the weakest.

Well, not the weakest, but that they only commanded impulse and frenzied brashness. They didn’t seem to have any other major trump cards up their sleeves apart from that. What else did the Human King know to do, other than assimilate New Martial?

With how valiant he was fighting and actually suppressing the dao master the yin and yang, who were they supposed to pick, if not him? Those who stuck their heads out always got beaten down first!

The two ninth ranks quickly joined the fray. Fang Ping grew frantic when he noted the development. Those bastards!

“You guys go too far!” he roared furiously. How shameless were they in fighting three against one?! “How dare you?!”

“......” No one bothered to explain. There’s no reason, alright?

You’re too cocky and don’t seem as underhanded as those other two. Is that reason enough?

The Human King rapidly backed away, wanting to get closer to Emperor Yu. Su Yu registered his movement with a raised eyebrow and backed away in another direction as he fought.

Don’t even think about it, don’t get near me. I’m not interested in being your meat shield!

This guy was not a benevolent soul. Su Yu had observed all of the cultivators that’d risen from New Martial. He was no fool. The Human King was up to his dirty tricks even now.

Come off of it.

Su Yu didn’t know Li Hao that well, but the Human King...

One had to say, the dao of time was a really nice dao. He’d once journeyed through New Martial, much like Li Hao had. He’d then observed the rest of the powerhouses in the chaos with New Martial as a baseline.

He knew New Martial all too well.

“Would it kill you to give me a hand?” griped the Human King. “Many of the daos in Myriad Realms hail from New Martial!”

That was true enough, but Su Yu continued to back away as he fought.

“Please be patient, Human King,” he responded weakly as he coughed up blood. “I will certainly help New Martial as soon as I kill this person. It’s just... cough cough cough...”

Blood sprayed everywhere.

Su Yu was a sorry sight after a thunderbolt smote him. His white robes were gray with dust. “It’s a pity that I do not have the ability to back up my intentions. My people have encountered such a disaster right upon exiting our world. This is the tribulation of Myriad Realms...”

Oh shut up!

The Human King nearly spat aloud. Cut the act!

This kid is not a good egg. Look at him spitting up blood and pretending to be weak! I used this trick a lot back in the day, he’s copying me!

How shameless!

The Human King suddenly flew backward, vomiting blood and breaking bones. Flesh and blood flew everywhere. He was a much sorrier sight than Emperor Yu!

“Damn it... three against one...” he declared tragically. “How dare you guys bully New Martial! Do you think there’s no one among us who can take a stand? Am I trash?! Come at me mano-el-mano if you dare!”

He raged impotently. The three ninth ranks didn’t give him any breathing space before flinging themselves at him!

Su Yu and Fang Ping were suddenly the epitome of misery. Spring Autumn gasped for breath amid her desperate defense and suddenly celebrated that she was a bit better off than them. Just look at the Human King! He was so pitiful!

I mean, that brute is also way too arrogant. Thank goodness those two ninth ranks aren’t coming for me.

She was much happier after the comparison and fought with renewed vigor. Countless past selves surfaced and integrated into her body. The seasons withered and flourished—her past selves seem to come back to life.

Spring Autumn found a second wind after seeing how poorly the Human King and Emperor Yu were doing. A cicada croon echoed through the void.

The seasons passed.

Her opponents abruptly seemed frozen in place, but shook that off moments later and charged her again. They beat Spring Autumn back, but the cicada grew more spirited as she fought.

“Everyone, hold on! This overlord will come help after I slay my enemies...”

A massive explosion rang out after those words and she flew backward. Her mess of injuries immediately healed, as if demonstrating how strong she was.

Don’t despair! Don’t fall apart! I’m still here!

Falling apart would be the greatest danger of all.

The incredibly pathetic Human King looked over and goggled to himself. You... are in the worst state and have lost countless replicas. What’s with the tough act? What’s the point of this?

Whether it was the Human King or Su Yu, both seemed to be waiting for something. They looked into the distance again!

Li Hao was still ramming chaos dao when he looked back at the two with a sigh. Damn it! What’s with these two?

Li Hao slumped with resignation. Is there a point to putting on this act at a time like this?

The three ninth ranks reached him at this moment. The young man focused and realized they were familiar people. It was the trio that’d protected him last time!
