Chapter 2144: Pitched Battle (IV)

Skyward frowned faintly and disappeared, but a ninth rank immediately appeared after him, as if they’d locked onto Skyward. The spirit of the ninth rank’s great dao shook to the point in which the entire chaos universe trembled.

These people seemed to have long brainstormed and plotted on how to handle Skyward. Incredibly thick dao rules appeared in the void. The power of sealing drifted through the vicinity.

Not only that, but strong chains pierced through space.

Skyward reappeared with a raised brow. “It looks like you guys planned to kill me quite a while ago!”

“Who doesn’t know that Brother Skyward is the first among the chaos? If we didn’t have any safeguards in place after working together for so long... then we would be the real fools!”

“The chains of order...” Skyward sighed. “I hadn’t thought that you guys would keep this in your back pocket after killing Order!”

“You spurred everyone on to kill Order back in the day, so it would seem that you are very wary of that dao. In that case, we use the chains of order to lock down the void. Let’s see if you can break the encirclement!”

Chains had materialized in all of their hands at almost the same time. Each of the chains were astonishingly formidable. They seemed to have been crafted from the rules of order. They fully suppressed the four corners of the void!

Skyward looked around without a word. And so battle had commenced. These people had all lost their minds after time shattered. He wasn’t surprised by the development. The only startling detail was... what was Li Hao doing?

His master was in grave danger.

Yuan Shuo had just absorbed a portion of the five elements and currently faced one ninth rank. Although he wasn’t weak, he would certainly be defeated if another ninth rank or two joined the battlefield on his side.

And there was still no sight of Li Hao to be found!

Where had the young man gone?

“They’re fighting!” Li Hao laughed in the distance. They really were fighting amongst themselves.

This outcome could be foreseen as soon as time was no more.

Although the ninth ranks had been sealed away for many years, thus giving off the impression that they were afraid of death, they would still erupt with full force when things came down to the wire.

Thankfully, Su Yu had emerged from Myriad Realms and had brought a few more helpers with him. Things would be truly dicey otherwise.

Li Hao looked at the chaos dao, at how it seemed to spread throughout the entire universe. Countless dao rules shook madly. One could make out the shape of a dog swimming furiously upward in the void.

Panther!

Although there were many ninth ranks present, none of them were in peak condition. However, they swiftly recovered their battle strength when they ignited their spirit. If this continued, Silver Moon martial masters led by Yuan Shuo would be the first to collapse, to say nothing of the rest.

Spring Autumn’s side was also in similar straits.

The Human King and Su Yu’s sides were a bit stronger. Chaos Sky was growing stronger at a rapid clip and Skyward had more aces up his sleeves than anyone could anticipate. None of these people would go down that easily.

It was Spring Autumn and Silver Moon’s sides that were most in danger.

Li Hao tilted his head for another look. The Human King was fending off the dao master of yin and yang with difficulty. Su Yu was locked in combat with Calamity. The remaining Myriad Realms cultivators were jointly facing the dao master of life and death, as well as a few others.

The fights were arduous, but Li Hao didn’t pay them much attention. These guys probably all had some trump cards that they were yet to play.

No casualties had appeared yet, after all.

The young man looked at chaos dao again and laughed. He stretched toward it, making all of the fighting powerhouses pause with shock!

Chaos dao shook madly!

Immense dao strength surged out of it. Ninth rank voices could be heard from it.

“That damned bastard wants to fish in muddy waters!”

“Don’t court death, Li Hao! It’s one thing to watch the battles, but you’re dreaming if you want to venture into the depths of chaos dao at this moment!”

“Do you really think we’ve forgotten about you killing Five Elements?!”

“......” No one overlooked Li Hao’s existence, even when they were in the thick of things. That little bastard had previously taken advantage of the confusion to kill the dao master of the five elements!

And now he wanted to draw near the origin of the chaos?! He could easily sever a portion of their dao rules in a moment of carelessness. Whoever that happened to would become the next Five Elements.

Hence, everyone was highly on guard against him.

Li Hao didn’t say a word as he continued to fly upward. Chaos dao shook madly as currents of dao strength swept over him!

It had the effect of weakening the battle in the distance. Countless great daos lashed at Li Hao like they were whips!

The young man shook his powerful arms and balled his hands into fists. Some of the great daos vibrated after he struck them, but they stood staunchly in his way and refused to let him continue!

Such delusions of grandeur!

There were even some ninth ranks that disengaged from the battlefield so they could rush Li Hao. All of them wore frosty looks of killing intent in their eyes!

They’d originally planned to kill the others first before coming for Li Hao. But since this guy insisted on tempting death and revealing his presence, then they would kill him first!

Did he really think that he was invincible?!

As for why Li Hao had been able to recover such a vast amount of battle strength, the answer to that remained unclear. But no matter how strong he was, he hadn’t reached the point of being able to strike down ninth ranks. Five Elements had died such an unworthy death!

Several figures quickly rushed over. Meanwhile, Li Hao was still grappling with those great daos and showed no inclination of backing away.

He looked into the distance out of the corner of his eye, ultimately settling on Skyward. If the man still had secrets... then they should all reside within the depths of the chaos. Only that spot could bury his secrets.

Li Hao was actually a bit confused at what that guy intended to do. Whether it was him, the Human King, or Su Yu, they all bore traces of Skyward’s help in their rise. This person and War had always seemed to be on their side.

What had they spoken about when they met a million years ago?

Perhaps that would be revealed today.

Li Hao had been ramming chaos dao the entire time. Multiple ninth ranks charged him in response.

Battle had broken out everywhere. Immense presences crisscrossed the void. There were more powerhouses compared to last time and almost all of them were equipped with the peak battle strength that Chaos Sky had commanded in the previous engagement.

New Martial, Silver Moon, and Myriad Realms were participating in full. The Human King, Emperor Yu, and Yuan Shuo were individually fighting ninth ranks. Spring Autumn, Chaos Sky, and Skyward were also doing the same.

Two dozen ninth ranks were scattered throughout space. They were the biggest faction and had made their own plans after all these years, but hadn’t put many into motion since their leader was Skyward.

Now that time had been destroyed and could not be recovered, they were likewise unable to return to their peak and fully recover their spirit. All of them completely lost their minds!

Some were truly berserk, others were playing the part. There was also a group of ninth ranks that hesitated and didn’t immediately plunge into battle.

They were conflicted. What should they do now?

Even Skyward had been labeled as part of the enemy’s camp now, even he was someone they should hunt down. But they normally enjoyed good relations with Skyward.

They suddenly didn’t know which side to help.

“Li Hao!” The Human King backed away as he fought. “The hell you doing, man? You’re not going to break through chaos dao by ramming it yourself. You’re better off coming here and working with me. Once we take down Yin Yang, I’ll help you with someone else!”

Li Hao smiled without a word. He continued his barrage, violently shaking chaos dao.

Ninth ranks flared with spirit in response, further unsettling chaos dao. Even the Skyward master couldn’t help but growl from his encirclement, “Li Hao! Chaos dao supports the chaos universe. The others have chosen to go down in a blaze of glory because the end of their lives is at hand, but what is your reason for doing so?

“No matter what, the young should not choose to destroy chaos dao...”

It was understandable that the ninth ranks had chosen to annihilate what they could not participate in. But what was Li Hao doing, acting as the vanguard?

“I want to resurrect a few people, so let me into the depths of chaos origin!” Li Hao laughed meaningfully. “I’m not interested in your battles. What does it have to do with me who reigns supreme?”

No one responded. That was even more impossible.

The origin of the chaos was also immensely strong, so Li Hao might not be able to destroy it. However, they needed to be careful. Although the ninth ranks spoke of everyone going down together, that really would come to pass once someone destroyed the origin of the chaos.

They would be without the last bit of hope.

The ninth ranks didn’t have much lifespan left, but they still had some, right?

A massive explosion sounded as the verbal exchange finished.

Spring Autumn was the first one to reel back among all the battles. Countless replicas had broken and a cicada hovered in the void. She looked on with some madness, fury, and resignation!

“Fuck all of you gnats and worms!” she cursed. I’m not ready!

Logically speaking, this final battle shouldn’t have happened so quickly. These assholes did nothing useful but continue to push things forward. It resulted in her not having enough time to set foot into ninth rank and now had to face more than one ninth rank!

How could she measure up to them?!

Even though she was strong and fought with multiple major monster spirits by her side, she was still in incredible agony as her replicas were constantly torn apart.

For a moment, she really wanted to say that ninth ranks... let’s work together!

I’m not really on the same team as Li Hao.

But now, she’d been forced into the same team. Who would believe her if she claimed anything otherwise?

And it didn’t actually matter if they believed her or not. These ninth ranks wanted to kill anyone with different opinions and from different camps. They just wanted to clean the battlefield!

The cicada was showing signs of losing her fight.

Chaos Sky shouted loudly. His presence climbed to a peak as he recombined order and disorder. He beat back all of the ninth ranks surrounding him and looked around with a cold snort!

He and Skyward were the strongest in all of the vast chaos now. They were mobbed by several ninth ranks. The Human King and others were on par with the ninth ranks, yet still showed signs of losing because they were up against multiple opponents.

Three ninth ranks had rushed to Li Hao as well. With the young man’s strength, he would not be able to handle three of them.

Chaos Sky was retreating as he fought. He really didn’t want to clash with these people yet. In his opinion, it was far, far too early.

Now was not the time!

This was so unlucky. Li Hao’s group had greatly moved up the timeline when it came to the return of the ninth ranks. That’d resulted in everyone not being at peak strength. Even Chaos Sky needed a bit more time before he grew stronger.

What a pity!

Li Hao was the true shit stirrer at the end of the day. None of this would’ve happened had he not established his own chaos.
