Chapter 2148: Birds of a Feather (I)

In the distance, Skyward looked sharply at the Human King when he realized something. He sighed after a long moment.

So it turns out... you’ve discovered it!

“Li Hao, I said a long time ago that it’s most reliable when father and son fight together.” The Human King cackled, his laughter piercing through the void. “I may be old, but I’ve got a son! Do you? Hahaha!!”

His brazen laughter rang through the premises.

Li Hao blinked, then looked around dazedly. The son of darkness... The darkness circling New Martial back in the day... He seemed to understand something as well.

“Human King...” the young man burst out laughing. “The world is the playground of the young. You’re old!”

“Fuck you, you little piece of shit!” snarled Fang Ping. The vicinity turned into his domain of absolute dominance!

Trapped within, the two dao masters paled with horror.

“Help me!” they shouted.

This was all going south!

They weren’t afraid of a singular Fang Ping, but they did fear the addition of an existence that rivaled Fang Ping. This would mean their doom!

“Too late!” A long blade pierced through everything and transformed into boxing gloves at the same time.

The Human King delivered ten thousand punches in the blink of an eye and beat one of the ninth ranks back. Darkness descended at the same time and a palm slammed through the reeling ninth rank!

The smaller size Human King leered, as if boasting or seeking acknowledgment from the Human King.

“Not bad! You’ve done something with all of these years!” The Human King grinned widely.

The last ninth rank remaining finally realized something and looked incredulously between the two of them. “No... this isn’t possible...”

Kaboom!

The worlds seem to fall apart as father and son blew the ninth rank to pieces!

“Nothing is impossible!” cackled Fang Ping.

“Nothing is impossible!” The little Human King imitated the laugh. “My father is invincible!”

Rumble!!

A loud detonation rang in all directions. The Human King had completed killing his three opponents.

“Well done, son!” Fang Ping roared with laughter and furiously devoured the dao strength left behind by the three ninth ranks.

Shock reigned in all directions. How could Yin Yang and the others have actually died?!

Where did the Human King get a son from? And such a strong one at that!

That simply wasn’t fathomable. How could such a premier powerhouse be born out of thin air? It didn’t make any sense whatsoever. The newcomer was almost on par with the Human King!

One had to know that the Human King had participated in so many battles and devoured endless worlds to reach his current stage. He’d consumed almost all of the eighth rank worlds in the eastern region!

But in the end, it was his son who’d quietly developed to his level. That simply did not obey the laws of the chaos universe!

All of the ninth ranks looked on with incredulity.

Skyward shot a sidelong glance at the Human King and didn’t say anything. He avoided encirclement from the others and sank into deep contemplation.

In the distance.

Li Hao sank into deep thought and suddenly smiled after a while.

“How shameless!” he murmured.

A son?

Where would the Human King get a son from? He was the definition of shamelessness at times.

The dao master of shadow had extended his senses to assess Fang Ping’s supposed son. His face twitched as he suddenly looked over. The one who called himself Fang Wushuang met his eyes.

He grinned with the same face as the Human King!

The ninth rank paused and muttered, “No... this is... the yin side... This is yin and yang...”

“What?” Decay and Galeforce asked hurriedly.

The dao master of shadow looked over again and ignored even Li Hao, thanks to the shock of his revelation. “These are the sides of yin and yang... they actually exist! How could... how could the Human King have actually found it...”

He sank into temporary confusion, leaving his two compatriots waiting impatiently. What did Shadow mean?

Skyward evaded another round of attacks and said softly, “Human King, who would’ve thought that you’d actually find it? It looks like this accomplishment has something to do with War, doesn’t it?”

“Eh? Skyward, are you complimenting how fierce my son is?” Fang Ping threw his head back with laughter. “My son is unparalleled in the universe! How about it? I’m deeply gratified that my descendant has turned out even better than me!”

“It’s just two sides of the same coin, Human King,” Skyward chuckled softly. “I’m just a bit curious... can you fully integrate with yourself?”

“What are you talking about?” hooted Fang Ping. “Do you think I devour just anyone? This is my son! What can I devour?”

Skyward didn’t say anything else. He’d simply concluded that Fang Wushuang was not the Human King’s son.

At the same time.

Su Yu continuously backed away and kept after Calamity. Meanwhile, Calamity’s expression shifted again and again.

“Two sides of the same coin... War... time... daos of two extremes...” he murmured to himself, as if knowing something too. His face flickered through a variety of emotions.

What dao was the strongest in chaos dao?

No one knew.

Did time really reign over all?

Not necessarily!

Was someone as strong as Skyward invincible simply because they possessed spatial dao?

Not necessarily!

The other ninth ranks were just of a different level. If they were all like him and possessed a myriad daos, who dared claim that theirs was invincible?

It was publicly understood that daos of two extremes could help many enter ninth rank. Or rather, daos that opposed each other.

Those were daos such as life and death, yin and yang, order and disorder, emptiness and revitalization, light and dark...

It was also commonly held that cultivating daos of two extremes would make one stronger. Among the major worlds, which ones were the strongest?

Ones with twin dao universes, such as New Martial and Silver Moon!

Su Yu’s eyebrows rose when a new thought occurred to him. There had been a world named Underworld in the later days of New Martial. It’d been used to host powerhouses that’d fallen. Or rather, it housed powerhouses who still retained their spirit and core origin.

After they died, yin and yang reversed to place them in another world. But later on, the Human King went to the depths of depleting endless yang qi to resurrect them.

It was the direct cause of there being too much yin qi in New Martial!

New Martial’s Underworld seemed to fully disappear after those people came back to life. No one mentioned it anymore, thinking that there was no need for that world to exist once the occupants were alive again.

Su Yu had observed it for a while, finding that Underworld was nearly completely disposed of after that. No one entered it anymore. After New Martial’s Yin and Yang major world became one, there was no longer a division between yin and yang!

Inspiration struck.

Two sides of the same coin! They’re both Fang Ping! This guy gave his yin side a new name. Fang Wushuang is the master of yin!

He’s devoured all of the yin qi in New Martial, which is also the key to why those people could come back to life and quickly absorb yang qi. The Human King... took in all of the energy of the dead and created Fang Wushuang!

This is the other side of the Human King!

And the Human King... actually comes from Underworld. War, the Sun God, and others used special methods to pull him out of it. Underworld is connected to the Sun God and War!

The Human King isn’t actually from the yang side of New Martial!

Some people grasped the implications that Fang Wushuang represented, but were also further confused. Why could the Human King nurture such a strong side of yin?

Even if New Martial’s Underworld still existed, it’d been locked in the Human King’s internal world all this time. Logically speaking, Fang Wushuang should just be a replica and not this strong.

Unless...

Some other developments had happened as well.

These two daos of the extreme would be very strong if they fully combined as one. Why did the Human King want to split them apart and call the other his son? Why did he not combine with that one?

As confused as the ninth ranks were, they focused on the panicky repercussions of three of their own being killed and how the Human King was furiously absorbing their dao strength. Who would’ve thought that it would be his side to fall first! And three ninth ranks at that!

Some changes appeared in the situation.

Calamity furiously pummeled Su Yu, throwing the youngster back. However, an ugly expression was on his face.

There were a lot of ninth ranks around, two dozen of them, but the situation had changed dramatically after three were killed in a heartbeat. None of them had been able to subdue their opponents.

Instead, Skyward and Chaos Sky were able to preoccupy the nine fighting them instead.

And on Li Hao’s side... while Shadow and the other two had the upper hand, they hadn’t overpowered the young man.

This was a disaster!

These people were stronger than anticipated and the Human King was being fortified by the absorption of yin and yang. Fang Wushuang was also taking in that energy. Both of them would grow stronger at this rate!

“Two sides of the same coin...” murmured Calamity as he looked at Skyward in the distance.

Skyward was as coolly composed as usual, even with five formidable opponents surrounding him. Even though he was just a little bit stronger than the ninth ranks since no one had recovered to peak strength, he was still unflappable when facing five.

“Skyward!” he bellowed. “We have been sealed away together for a million years! Are these newcomers more trustworthy than us in your eyes?!”
