Starting Out As The God of Beasts
Chapter 261: Uriel’s Report [2]
“The God of Beast?”
Ra’s golden eyes narrowed, a visible frown marring his pristine, youthfully divine face.
The pleasant, relaxed atmosphere of the solar garden instantly grew heavy, the air around them warping slightly under the sudden dip in his divine mood.
“Who is that?” Ra questioned, his voice losing its casual warmth, carrying an icy edge of absolute authority.
“And why haven’t I heard of that title before? Every registered deity within the game falls under the surveillance of our Pantheon’s registries. Where did this entity crawl out from?”
Uriel remained bowed on one knee, his armor clanking softly as he kept his three heads lowered.
He stayed completely silent for a long, heavy moment, carefully choosing his words before responding.
“There are no records, Lord Ra,” Uriel explained solemnly, his six storm-grey eyes fixed on the marble floor. “I have personally dug deep into the divine archives, cross-referencing Adminstrator’s Records, dimensional registries, and pantheon logs spanning back three epochs. Yet, I was entirely unable to figure out who or what this ‘God of Beast’ truly is. It is as if the title materialized out of thin air.”
“Hmmm…”
Ra gently stroked his chin with his slender fingers, turning his back to the archangel as he stared into the crystal pool reflecting the lower mortal plane.
The liquid light rippled gently, showing vague, distorted shadows of continental landmasses.
“A True God operating without a registered footprint… impossible for a lower entity,” Ra murmured softly, his molten eyes flickering with sharp, calculating intelligence. “Or perhaps… one of the Absolutes is shielding him?”
Ra turned his head slightly, looking over his shoulder at the three-headed archangel. “Who do you suggest may have a hand in this?”
Uriel exhaled a deep, heavy sigh, his broad shoulders rising and falling beneath his sun-forged shoulder plates.
“If truly one of the Absolutes is shielding this God of Beast,” Uriel began, his central head speaking with gravity, “then that must mean the God of Time has a hand in this.”
“The God of Time?” Ra frowned deeply, his golden hair shifting around his shoulders.
Uriel nodded his three heads in unison.
“Indeed, my Lord. The God of Time, being one of the ten Absolute-tier True Gods, dictates how time within this grand game is perceived and recorded across the dimensions. With his absolute authority over temporal strands, he could easily deceive every other deity, alter historical perception, and shield his target from divine detection without leaving a single trace behind.”
The archangel paused before continuing in a lower, more cautious tone. “Or… perhaps the God of Information himself may have a hand in this as well, using his hidden connection with the lower continent to obscure this entity’s true identity from our eyes.”
Uriel raised his main head, his grey eyes flashing with lethal resolve. “Lord Ra, grant me permission, and I shall personally descend into the other Divine Realms to—”
“That won’t be necessary.”
Before Uriel could complete his statement, Ra interrupted him with a cool, nonchalant wave of his golden-robed arm.
“Lord?” Uriel blinked, surprised by the sudden rejection.
“Makane is merely a Lesser-tier True God,” Ra stated plainly, walking slowly toward a blooming golden orchid. “He is a minor pawn on this vast chessboard, completely irrelevant to my grand plan. Since we do not know enough about this mysterious God of Beast, we should stay still and watch. Now is certainly not the right time to carelessly provoke or anger one of the Absolutes.”
Ra turned around fully, his golden robe sweeping smoothly over the marble as he looked down at his archangel with absolute, cold pragmatism.
“Until our grand plan is finalized and the final pieces are set,” Ra commanded, “we must act as watchers. Nothing more.”
Uriel bowed his heads low, conceding immediately to his creator’s logic.
“Understood, my Lord.”
Ra raised a hand, shifting the topic casually.
“Speaking of Makane’s crusade… how many angels did the God of Dawn deploy to aid him in this religious war?”
“Only one, Lord Ra,” Uriel answered promptly.
“And the Angel of Dawn that was deployed to the lower continent is Mauresis.”
“Mauresis…” Ra nodded thoughtfully, his molten eyes flickering with an unreadable, subtle light.
A faint, sharp smile returned to the Sun God’s lips. “Inform the God of Dawn that if his angel dies in this conflict, he must not make another move. He is to cut his losses and retreat immediately.”
Ra paused, his smile widening slightly into something more mischievous. “However… I am quite curious to see how far this little religious war is going to go. So, tell him he has my blessing—the God of Dawn is free to let his angel go all out!”
Once the absolute order was given, Uriel bowed his three heads low to the floor, his heavy armor clanking against the pristine stone.
“Your divine will shall be done, Absolute One.”
BZZZZZZT.
With a sudden, blinding flash of golden radiance and a soft gust of wind, the three-headed archangel vanished from the garden entirely.
He was gone, leaving behind only a few stray, glowing feathers that dissolved into dust before touching the ground.
Ra stood alone in the vast, quiet expanse of his divine estate.
The Sun God exhaled a long, deep sigh that rustled the golden leaves of the surrounding trees.
He slowly raised his head, staring up into the vast, colorless sky above the Sun Heaven—a sky devoid of clouds, stars, or warmth beyond his own.
The playful, divine demeanor drained from his face for a brief second, replaced by a strange, ancient exhaustion.
“Supreme Masturbator…” Ra mumbled softly under his breath, a faint, bitter smile touching his lips as he uttered the bizarre, private moniker.
He closed his eyes, remembering a time before pantheons, before thrones, and before this endless, divine game.
“If only the Rank 0 Player had transmigrated with us…” Ra murmured into the empty air, his voice trailing off into the quiet breezes of the Sun Heaven.
“Things wouldn’t have been this boring.”
