Chapter 776: Chapter 773 Business

A hint of confusion flashed across Muller’s face, followed by a slightly embarrassed expression. "Whispering Dawn? To be honest with you all, this is the first time I’ve ever heard of this."

He considered himself someone who had tasted many fine liquor, some not inferior to Fragrant Wheat Ale, but he had never heard of something called Whispering Dawn.

Most importantly, this Whispering Dawn was far superior to any liquor he had ever tasted before.

Dahlia chuckled lightly and said, "This is a specialty from Sedona City in the Siacan Kingdom. It’s a newly brewed fine liquor that hasn’t fully spread yet."

"The Siacan Kingdom, Sedona City?" Muller’s eyes flickered imperceptibly.

"If you have the chance in the future, Your Lordship should visit Sedona City. It will thoroughly surprise you," Dahlia said with a faint smile, her eyes shimmering with a look of longing. She was starting to miss Sedona City a bit.

"Since there is such fine liquor there, I must naturally go see it for myself if I get the chance." Muller nodded, beginning to take a serious interest in the matter.

"It’s not just fine liquor there. There are all sorts of delicious delicacies and plenty of rare and amusing things—things you won’t see anywhere else," Dahlia chuckled softly.

"I haven’t yet asked for your esteemed names, ladies," Muller suddenly inquired.

"I am Dahlia, and these two are Elisa and Mira." Bearing the demeanor of a high-born lady, Dahlia briefly introduced the group.

Splash... The observant Kasi stepped forward and refilled their empty glasses.

"Thank you." Muller stared intently at the liquor in front of him. He picked it up, took a sip, and continued, "Lady Dahlia, from your tone, it sounds like you are extremely familiar with this Sedona City!"

"To tell you the truth, we actually came from Sedona City," Dahlia chuckled lightly, picking up the liquor in front of her and taking a delicate sip, appearing extremely elegant.

"Oh..." Muller nodded in realization. His pupils flickered as his gaze swept over Dahlia and the others.

He casually asked, "Lady Dahlia, did you come to the Deepstone Kingdom to do business?"

"Yes," Dahlia nodded, but didn’t elaborate further. Some things had to be done step by step; if she let him keep asking questions like this, it would seem too deliberate.

"Oh, are you in the liquor business?" Muller asked, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly. The Whispering Dawn held a massive appeal to him, and this liquor could absolutely be presented as a tribute to the King.

"Not just the liquor business. We have other things as well," Dahlia said calmly.

"I see..." Muller nodded slightly, but before he could continue his questioning...

"Kasi, go settle the bill. It’s getting late, we should find a place to rest," Dahlia instructed Kasi to pay.

"Yes, my lady," Kasi said respectfully.

"Viscount Muller, we will take our leave first," Dahlia said, standing up.

Seeing Dahlia stand, Elisa and Mira seamlessly followed suit and stood up as well.

"Alright." Muller was slightly taken aback. He then looked toward the liquor bottle and hesitated, "This liquor..."

"Viscount Muller, consider this bottle a gift to you," Dahlia said softly.

"Thank you," Muller’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Step, step, step...

Dahlia led Elisa and the others out. Kasi, having settled the bill, picked up the glass cups from the table, leaving behind the ceramic jug that still contained half Whispering Dawn.

"Excuse me, is this Whispering Dawn your absolute best liquor?" Muller suddenly asked Kasi.

"Of course not... uh..." Kasi paused, then quickly shut his mouth in a fluster and hurried away.

"..." Muller turned his head, watching the retreating backs of Dahlia and her group. His eyes flashed, and the corners of his mouth curled up. He muttered to himself, "There’s a liquor even more delicious than Whispering Dawn?"

Gulp...

Muller swallowed hard, looking at the jug on the table that was still more than half full. Suddenly, he desperately wanted to know what a liquor better than Whispering Dawn could possibly taste like.

He spoke in a low voice to the waiter beside him, "Go find out their background. Don’t alarm them."

"Yes!" The waiter nodded and went to make the arrangements.

Step, step, step...

Watching the waiter leave, Muller ignored the stares of the surrounding patrons. He picked up the bottle of Whispering Dawn and strode out of the tavern.

He wanted to take it back for his father to taste. After all, his father was an even bigger alcoholic than he was! If his father found out he had hoarded such fine liquor for himself, he would probably beat him to a pulp.

Perhaps his father might know the name of this Whispering Dawn, as well as this mysterious Sedona City.

...

On the streets of the Deepstone Capital, Dahlia and her group were looking for a place to stay.

"Dahlia, why did we just leave? Wasn’t that a perfect opportunity just now?" Mira asked in confusion, looking at Dahlia, who was slightly tipsy.

"It’s called playing hard to get. We must hold the initiative to secure the greatest benefits." Dahlia’s face was a bit flushed at the moment.

A flash of astute wisdom crossed her eyes as she continued, "If we are to collaborate, he has to be the one to bring it up first. That is the only way it works in our favor."

"I see!" Mira exclaimed in realization. "You mean he’ll come looking for us to cooperate?"

"Just wait and see. I have a lot of confidence in the Whispering Dawn," Dahlia said, a confident smile on her face.

Because this Whispering Dawn came from Sedona City—it came from the hands of Lucas.

Soon, the group found an inn called ’The Great Furnace’ and booked a few rooms.

As soon as they entered the room, Dahlia collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep. Not having a high tolerance for alcohol, she was naturally a bit drunk after downing two cups of Whispering Dawn today.

Although she was the daughter of a merchant, and theoretically should have attended many banquets and drank plenty of alcohol—meaning her tolerance shouldn’t have been poor...

The truth was, growing up, Dahlia’s father, Joe, rarely let her drink. Joe had always said that if a business deal required his daughter to drink to close it, then he’d rather not do the business at all.

Aside from Dahlia’s trio, Number Seven from the war wolves was also in the room.

Number Seven had been assigned by Lucas to protect Dahlia and the others. After all, Number Seven was from the war wolves, having undergone all sorts of intense training. He was perfectly equipped to handle special situations and, naturally, gathering intelligence was a piece of cake for him.

Elisa instructed Number Seven, "Go gather some intelligence on this Muller, as well as information on the iron mines."

"Yes, ma’am!" Number Seven nodded. He changed out of his forged steel armor, threw on a simple disguise, and led his men out the door.

Step, step, step...

Creak!

"What do we do next?" Mira asked softly, looking at Dahlia fast asleep on the bed.

"We’ll wait until Number Seven returns before making any arrangements. Let’s see what Dahlia says when she wakes up," Elisa replied. She trusted Dahlia completely; when it came to matters of business, the other woman was far more adept.

Mira nodded and said quietly, "She truly lives up to her reputation as one of the Five Extraordinary Women of the Royal Capital. She’s a natural-born master of business."
