Chapter 222: Chapter 222: Finding a Place

Even without asking, Hua Buwan could tell by the undisguised joy on the faces of the Ling family that they were extremely satisfied with the transaction.

Smiling, she stepped forward with a light gait and greeted them warmly, "Congratulations! It really is an auspicious start to your business today!" Seeing the Ling family off to such a great start genuinely warmed her heart.

Before she even finished speaking, a petite, lively figure fluttered over like a little bird. Skipping to Hua Buwan’s side, Ling Yunge affectionately linked arms with her. A radiant smile bloomed across her tanned, freckled little face, as vibrant and charming as a spring flower.

"Sister Buwan, you were right about this shop!" Ling Yunge cheered, eagerly sharing her joy. "The Shopkeeper is so honest and sincere. Selling our goods went incredibly smoothly!"

At that moment, Ling Qianfan trotted over to join them. In his excitement, he lost his footing and stumbled. Hua Buwan’s heart leapt into her throat, terrified that he would fall and hurt himself. Fortunately, he reacted quickly and managed to catch his balance.

Standing upright, he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment and offered Hua Buwan a sheepish smile. "Hehe... Sister Buwan, if we ever get our hands on more seafood or other good catches, let’s bring them straight to this shop. The Shopkeeper here is incredibly reasonable, which saved us so much trouble! At the end of the day, we have your keen eye to thank for this!"

Xu Panqing and Ling Qianjun then slowly walked over. Though neither said a word, their gazes landed on Hua Buwan in unison, their eyes brimming with profound gratitude.

Now that they had successfully sold out of all their seafood, it was time to sell the goods Hua Buwan had brought along. Since today was merely a trial run, they hadn’t brought much inventory—everything piled together only filled a single bamboo basket. At this moment, that fully loaded basket rested securely on Ling Qianjun’s broad back.

Prior to this, Hua Buwan had already inquired about the local rules from the nearby vendors and the staff at the seafood shop. As it turned out, setting up a stall along this street was quite simple; one only needed to pay a nominal fee.

In truth, government officers constantly patrolled the area to maintain order. However, there were no strict demarcations for the stalls. It operated on a first-come, first-served basis—whoever claimed an empty spot first got to use it. The only catch was that the closer a stall was to the bustling commercial center, the higher the fee would be.

There were also a few unwritten rules: if a vendor operated from the same spot for a long period, it would eventually be recognized as their designated stall by default, and others would generally avoid encroaching on it. If a newcomer accidentally occupied a regular’s spot, the neighboring vendors would kindly remind them of the custom.
