Stockpiling for an Exiled General Through My Store's Back Door
Chapter 244: Looking Out for Each Other
Chapter 244: Chapter 244: Looking Out for Each Other
Hearing Ling Qianfan say this, everyone’s eyes invariably turned to him. His chubby face wore a goofy smile, and paired with his large, innocent eyes, he looked exactly like a silly boy. The group was stunned for a moment before bursting into loud laughter, as if their funny bones had been struck. Their joyous laughter quickly filled the surrounding area.
Hua Buwan thought to herself, "I didn’t expect Ling Qianfan to be so self-aware, let alone boldly admit that he looks foolish! Somehow, hearing him judge himself like that makes him seem uniquely adorable."
Ling Qianjun frowned deeply, his gaze fixed on Ling Qianfan’s goofy, husky-like expression. Unaware of the strange looks the others were giving him, Ling Qianfan just continued to smile foolishly.
Seeing this, Ling Yunge quickly covered her mouth, but laughter still slipped through her fingers. Her eyes narrowed into thin crescents from smiling as she mumbled, "Oh my, Qianfan is just too funny! I can’t believe he called himself foolish!"
Even the usually composed Xu Panqing couldn’t help but chuckle. However, after her laughter subsided, she touched her forehead with a hint of melancholy and sighed softly, "Alas, how did I give birth to such a handful of a child?"
Ling Qianfan hadn’t felt anything wrong with what he had just said. It wasn’t until he noticed the weird looks from his family that he suddenly realized something. He quickly dropped his smile and grew somewhat fidgety.
Hua Buwan spoke up to break the slightly awkward atmosphere. "Well then," she said slowly. "Since what you said makes sense, let’s arrange it this way. You guys can take turns finding time to accompany Ling Qianjun into the village for a thorough investigation, trying to figure out the situation of the villagers. Interact with them more in your daily lives. If you encounter any difficult characters, you’ll be able to look out for each other."
Ling Qianjun had no objections and nodded. "Let’s do as Buwan says."
Xu Panqing, Ling Qianfan, and Ling Yunge nodded firmly. In their minds, they were already thinking about the upcoming visits to the village and figuring out what to say to draw out the villagers’ true circumstances, personalities, and moral character.
Since it was getting late, they left the beach and returned to the stone house. Hua Buwan stepped through the Any Door and returned to the modern world.
Her mind was currently a mess, entirely preoccupied with images of the impending typhoon. She had previously posted on a forum asking resourceful netizens for advice on how to survive a super typhoon on an ancient beach. She had skimmed some comments when she had the time, but back then, most people were just joking around and spouting nonsense, so she hadn’t read them carefully. Now that she was free, Hua Buwan planned to go online and properly sift through the responses. There might be some experts leaving comments, and finding them would be a huge gain.
Without missing a beat, Hua Buwan sat down at the counter, turned on her computer, and scrolled through her post. To her surprise, it had gained quite a bit of traction over time. There were many replies, numbering in the hundreds by now. Her eyes widened as she scrolled through them one by one, hoping to find a useful response.
