STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 1067: Returning to the Special Base
Sunset Hotel
Jeremy Night returned to his room. The first thing he did was take a shower. He spent 20 minutes in the bath before coming out.
Next, he put on comfortable clothes and went to the sofa to lie down. He then picked up his device and turned on the big screen.
The words of the cab driver echoed in his mind. The big screen was on. A news anchor was reporting on the wilderness.
Jeremy Night raised his eyebrows and continued to watch the news channel. The driver had given him some information, and now he was getting more from the broadcast.
The news anchor reported that Beast Tamers had reached the various hotspots successfully and were engaged in combat right now.
Most of the Corrupted Beasts were between Tier-4 and Tier-6.
Tier-7 Beasts were reported to be few in number. Seeing that, Jeremy Night felt that there would be no immediate trouble.
He learned the names of the City Governors in the city. He didn’t know whether there was any Tier-9 Beast Tamer among them.
Because the 4th Zone was larger than the 5th Zone, including the cities, the land area and wilderness of this place were massive.
Slowly, he grew sleepy. He turned off the device and fell asleep. Tomorrow was his last day, and he wanted to be in peak condition the next morning.
The following day,
After getting ready, he left the hotel for his last day of training. He traveled by cab and noticed less traffic in the air lanes.
Because of it, the cab driver was driving faster. The majority of the Beast Tamers were fighting in the wilderness, while the locals were quite relaxed.
He observed their reactions through the window. He guessed it could be related to the large population, meaning they didn’t have a shortage of Beast Tamers.
The City Governors here must be exceptionally strong.
A few minutes later,
The cab reached the Beast Taming Association. He exited the cab and paid the fare to the driver. He looked toward the building again. It was going to be his last day here.
"Stella, how long do you think it will take to come out?" he asked.
[It’s soon. I can feel it.]
Jeremy heard Stella’s voice in his mind. To be honest, he got the same feeling from their bond. She wasn’t lying. Her hatching day might not be that far off.
He then entered the association and came across the admin staff. He greeted them before heading toward the special practice room.
One of them suddenly called out behind him and reminded him that it was his last day. Hearing that, he turned around and nodded.
Jeremy then turned back and went toward the elevator. He took the elevator to the special practice room floor, then entered the nearest room using the golden card.
The door shut automatically.
Natural energy began to fill the room. It didn’t take long for the space inside to fill with white mist.
Buzz!
Stella started her work inside the mental zone. The pure, rich white natural energy was disappearing into the egg.
Seeing that, Jeremy didn’t waste any time. He went to the middle of the room and sat cross-legged on the ground.
He started running the inner healing method. The natural energy moved toward his body as well.
When the energy entered his body, he began to guide it through the passages. As the natural energy traveled along the route, his cells became activated.
They began to digest the natural energy. Seeing that, Jeremy Night continued to repeat the process.
Time passed.
The city operated as usual. The situation outside didn’t seem to bother the citizens; they trusted that their Beast Tamers could handle the trouble.
They didn’t see any threat of the corrupted beasts attacking the city, but the families of the Beast Tamers were worried.
Though reports confirmed that only Tier-4, Tier-5, and Tier-6 Beasts had been spotted, they were afraid that Tier-8 beasts might make an appearance.
City Governor Evelina watched from the City Lord’s office. She was receiving reports nonstop. The Beast Tamers were fighting against the corrupted beasts across more than ten hotspots.
They were holding their ground successfully. The corrupted beasts had crossed the border and entered their territory. She wanted to know whether the same Tier-9 Hybrid Tiger was behind it.
Garran and Corvin were going through the reports in their offices as well, but so far there was no sign of the Tier-9 Hybrid Tiger Beast’s appearance.
It brought them relief, but they knew it was not the time to be complacent. Things could change at any moment.
Midnight
Jeremy Night exited the special practice room. He was feeling better than before. His time here was over; the one-week training had been well spent.
He came to the lobby and met the staff. He informed them that he was leaving for the base, and they wished him well.
Next, he exited the association building and headed to the main street. He hopped inside a cab and started heading toward the hotel.
He still needed to retrieve his things before going to the airport.
Soon, he reached the Sunset Hotel. He told the driver to wait for five minutes because he needed to go to the airport. The driver agreed.
Next, he entered the hotel and went toward his room. After reaching his room, he looked around the place. He hadn’t left anything behind.
A few minutes later,
He left the room and returned to the lobby. He came to the front desk and spoke with the staff to check out.
The staff knew that he was from the special base. After returning the room card, he exited the hotel and traveled in the same cab toward the airport.
He thought about the wilderness during the drive. Just as he had fought in other zones, he too wanted to go up against the corrupted beasts here, but he found that the locals treated it like a daily routine.
10 minutes later,
He reached the airport. After arriving, he exited the cab and paid the fare to the driver. Next, he went inside the airport.
He had already bought his ticket online, so he went to the counter for his boarding pass. The flight to the special base would arrive in 15 minutes.
Until then, he waited in the lounge. The waiting area was not very crowded. He sat down in a seat, his gaze falling on a big screen.
There were many big screens in the waiting area, and they were broadcasting the live news, all covering the wilderness situation.
[Beast Tamers are fighting hard. They have killed many mid-tier beasts. So far, no Tier-8 beasts have been spotted.]
It brought relief to the families who were watching the news. The passengers in the seating area sighed in relief as well.
Jeremy Night watched the broadcast, but soon an announcement sounded that the special flight had arrived on the runway.
After hearing the announcement, he got up from his seat and started heading toward the gate. Other passengers were heading to the same gate as well.
They walked through the gate. He exited onto the tarmac and saw the special flight parked a hundred meters away.
Jeremy Night and the others walked toward the aircraft. After arriving at the boarding area, they waited for the cabin door to open.
Creak!
The cabin door opened a few minutes later. The flight attendants allowed the arriving passengers to disembark.
Seeing that, Jeremy Night understood that the passengers were leaving the flight. About ten people exited the aircraft.
Next, it was time for them to board. One by one, the passengers showed their boarding passes before stepping inside the aircraft.
When his turn came, he showed his ID before boarding. He went to a window seat and sat down in his place.
It didn’t take long for the others to settle into their seats.
10 minutes later,
The special flight departed. The aircraft climbed into the air, heading toward the special base.
Jeremy Night looked through the window. He saw the city’s infrastructure illuminated in the night lights. It looked beautiful.
He then collected his thoughts. He didn’t know when he would return. Closing his eyes, he rested as the special flight left the airspace of City A.
Several hours later,
The special flight arrived at the special base and landed on the runway. When it came to a complete halt, the flight attendant opened the door.
Creak!
Jeremy stood up from his seat, ready to leave. He saw that no one else was getting up; the destination for the others was the 5th Zone.
Jeremy then exited the aircraft and stepped onto the ground.
[We are back.]
He heard Stella’s voice in his mind. Hearing that, he smiled and said, "Yes. We are back."
Next, he started heading back towards the administration building. He don’t know what’s going on right now. He thinks the leader board rankings must have changes.
