Chapter 1068: Mission Time

Special Base (4th Zone)

Jeremy Night headed back to the accommodation building. After going back to his room, he shut the door. He was jet-lagged. He then went back to sleep.

On the other hand, Stella began to absorb natural energy. She was not wasting any time.

The following day,

Jeremy Night woke up from his sleep. He got out of bed and started his routine right away. His morning routine lasted for an hour.

He then went to the practice room. He spent a few hours in the practice room. Stella, meanwhile, was absorbing the natural energy non-stop.

Seeing that she was working hard, he decided to enter mission mode. He entered the bathroom and spent 20 minutes in the bath.

After coming out, he put on his uniform. He then began to get ready, leaving the room a couple of minutes later.

Jeremy came out of the accommodation building and began heading toward the administration building.

This morning, he came across other members as well. The number of Beast Taming Groups was high.

After reaching the administration building, he walked inside. His gaze swept across the place. He was greeted by bustling noise.

There were Beast Taming Teams standing in queues. More than 20 teams were present, but he headed toward the leaderboard.

He arrived at the leaderboard. He raised his head, trying to find his name on the board. Then, he found it.

His name was currently ranked 45th. His credit points and leaderboard points had been credited, so his rank had shot up into the top 50.

A bright smile appeared on his face. Elder John hadn’t lied; his rank had indeed risen into the top 50. Next, he shifted his attention to another matter.

He picked up the device and checked his messages. He saw some unread messages and thought they must have arrived yesterday.

He had been jet-lagged the previous day. He went to the mission desk and stood in the queue.

As time passed, he noticed that his presence drew attention. Everyone was discussing his sudden rise in the leaderboard rankings.

They were curious about the mission. They didn’t know whether Jeremy Night had done multiple missions or a single mission.

Many of them believed it had to be multiple missions, because they had not seen Jeremy Night over the past week.

They thought Jeremy Night was busy doing missions, but they didn’t know that he had been in City A rather than here. Moreover, he hadn’t completed multiple missions, but a single one.

Time passed.

It didn’t take long for his turn to come. He looked around at the elders.

However, he didn’t find Elder Smith; only other elders were present. So, he turned toward the elder in front of him and asked for the device.

A middle-aged elder nodded his head. He recognized Jeremy Night. Everyone had been shocked by the sudden rise in Jeremy Night’s ranking earlier.

They didn’t know what type of mission he had completed to earn that many Leaderboard Points.

So, he wasn’t surprised that Jeremy Night had come again to take on missions.

Jeremy Night took the device and began going through the mission list. He saw many missions on the screen. Finally, an interesting one caught his eye.

It was a mission to hunt Tier-6 Corrupted Beasts. The rewards for the mission were not that great, but they were not that low either.

[Mission: Kill Tier-6 Mutated Stone Foxes. Requirement: 3 Corpses. Time Limit: 4 Days. Credit Points: 600. Leaderboard Points: 800.]

Jeremy Night confirmed the mission. He then handed the device to the elder. The middle-aged elder accepted it, but when he saw the mission details, he was shocked.

"Are you sure about this?" the elder asked.

The mission requirement was to kill Tier-6 Corrupted Beasts. He knew Jeremy Night could fight across tiers, but only against Tier-4 and Tier-5 beasts.

He had never heard of him going against a Tier-6 beast. He didn’t know whether Jeremy Night was being overconfident or acting under the pressure of the upcoming recruitment.

"Yes, I’m sure," Jeremy replied.

Hearing that, the expression of the middle-aged elder shifted dramatically. He was not going to process it without getting permission from Elder Sandra.

"You are at the peak of Tier-3 as a Beast Tamer. You will die facing a Tier-6 beast," the middle-aged elder said with concern.

The Beast Tamers standing behind him all grew curious. They had overheard the conversation as well.

"What happened?" a Tier-6 Beast Tamer asked. He was a second-year student.

The faces of the others behind him changed as well. Everyone recognized Jeremy Night, and they had overheard the mention of Tier-6 Corrupted Beasts.

"Elder, what’s going on?" a female member asked.

Jeremy Night furrowed his eyebrows. He hadn’t expected the middle-aged elder to make things difficult. Now, the seniors were raising questions.

The middle-aged elder shook his head. It was not permitted to discuss mission details openly. He then called another elder from the office and asked him to handle the mission desk.

When the new elder arrived from the office, he took over assigning tasks using another device.

The middle-aged elder took the device with him and placed a call to Elder Sandra. Seeing this, the expressions of the onlookers changed drastically.

They really wanted to know what was going on. Meanwhile, Jeremy Night kept his attention on the middle-aged elder.

The middle-aged elder successfully reached Elder Sandra and told her everything. When Elder Sandra heard the details, she was shocked. She hadn’t expected Jeremy Night to select such a mission.

Yet, she wasn’t completely astonished. Jeremy Night had completed the mapping mission, which had instilled great confidence in her. So, she told the elder not to worry and instructed him to register the mission.

The elder was stunned upon hearing that. He didn’t want to question her further, so he ended the call. Sandra smiled; she had received news about the golden card.

She thought Jeremy Night might attempt to break through to Tier-4. If that happened, it would become feasible to fight against a Tier-6 beast.

Meanwhile,

The elder ended the call and returned to Jeremy Night. He smiled and said, "You can do the mission. Elder Sandra has given the green signal for it."

His voice sounded serious. But he was still in disbelief. He didn’t know on what basis Elder Sandra had given permission to him.

"Thanks," Jeremy Night replied.

Then in front of him, the middle-aged elder completed the process.

Buzz!

Jeremy Night received the notification a few seconds later on his device. After checking it, he nodded to the elder before leaving the place.

On the other hand, the Beast Tamers who were standing in the queue didn’t know what was going on. They were watching the small drama for some time.

So they knew something had happened. But they were not going to ask the elder. They understood the issue was related to a mission. It was not allowed to be shared with others.

Everyone watched Jeremy Night leave the place.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night sent a message to Elder John. He had not met him once.

Buzz!

Next, he immediately got a reply back. He took his device and checked it. He read the message. Elder John wanted him to do the mission.

But he also advised him to be careful of the Tier-6 Beasts. If he was going for a breakthrough, then he should find an isolated spot first.

After reading that message, Jeremy raised his eyebrows.

Now he understood why Elder Sandra had given him the green signal. She misunderstood that he might try to break through.

If he got Tier-4 Strength, then he could slay the Tier-6 Corrupted Beast. He then put away the device. Next, he started heading towards the exit.

Soon, he exited the premises and headed towards the vast wilderness. On the way, he checked the notification on the device. There was an attachment of the map with the mission details.

He began to study the map. The location was actually a couple of hundred miles straight from the special base.

He had been to the place before. But he hadn’t gone to the deeper area of the wilderness. It was going to be his first time.

He closed the map and resumed going towards the woods. Soon, he reached the woods and disappeared into them. He didn’t plan on stopping anywhere.

Stella felt the presence of the wilderness. She stopped absorbing the natural energy for a second.

["Where are we going?"]

He heard the voice of Stella in his mind. He was a bit surprised. He didn’t expect her to be awake. With her help, he could cover the distance without problems.

Jeremy then explained the mission details to her. He then asked her for help.

[Alright. I will help you. You will reach the location faster.]

Hearing that, Jeremy sighed in relief. As time passed, he began to cover more distance with the help of Stella.

Stella is finding the easy route for him.
