Chapter 1159: Desert Lizard and the Parasite Beast

Wilderness (City A)

Stella spread her mental power. In the blink of an eye, her consciousness spread over 500 metres.

She saw a small, dense black cloud hovering above the shade tree.

She looked closer and observed that the beasts were over half a metre in height.

They were densely packed together. The number of beasts was over fifty. She then understood that this single beast was from the same pack as before.

[You are right. The insect beast is from the same swarm,] Stella said to him.

Hearing that, Jeremy sighed inwardly. He ignored the beasts and moved towards their destination.

A few hours later, he reached the border. From here, he could go to the unknown lands faster. The size of the core area was smaller.

That was why the corrupted beast horde used this place to escape. He was standing on top of one of the tree branches.

He used his vision power to scan the surroundings.

His senses alerted him to danger. This time, the warning didn’t come from the surrounding environment, but from the ground itself.

He used his secondary eye ability to scan the surroundings. There were numerous tree roots underground.

They were now moving upwards. The expected spot was right below the shade tree, but the shade tree was not a mutated tree beast.

It was something else. Jeremy Night continued to scan underground.

He could not find the main body of the tree, so he doubted whether it was a tree beast or something else.

"Stella, there is something wrong with the underground beast," he said to her in his mind.

He thought Stella could see it better than he could.

But he didn’t know Stella was already watching the beast.

She saw the roots were over 100 metres long. When her mental power went further, she saw that the roots were latched onto a brown, four-legged beast.

The four-legged beast was over 5 metres tall at the shoulder. Its body size was 12 metres, and its tail length was 5 metres.

Stella recognised the beast. It was a four-legged desert lizard, and it was a Tier-8 beast. The tree root latched onto the back of the desert lizard was a parasite beast.

The strength of the parasite beast was Tier-7. She could not believe that a Tier-7 beast was living on the body of a Tier-8 beast.

For a second, she didn’t know what to say. She was looking at this beast combination for the first time.

"Stella, what happened?" he asked.

Jeremy felt her emotions as well. He felt she was a bit surprised.

[Let me share my vision with you,] Stella said to him.

The next second, he felt changes in his vision. He shared her vision, and he saw what was going on in reality.

He saw the size of the root, which extended over 100 metres. When he saw the main body, it was on the back of the four-legged beast.

The appearance of the beast became clear. It was a lizard-type beast.

He saw the head of the beast and its appearance. He recognised the beast as well.

It was a rare, desert-type lizard beast, but he was looking at the roots for the first time.

"Do you know what it is?" he asked her.

[It’s a parasite root beast. It’s not a typical tree beast. The main body is buried inside the back of the desert lizard.]

Jeremy heard her voice. His eyes flashed with understanding. He didn’t expect it to be like this.

Boom!

Right then, the desert lizard felt something was wrong.

The parasite beast communicated with it. It felt the presence of the human Beast Tamer above.

There were no other beasts or Beast Tamers above the ground. It was a good chance for them to hunt down the human Beast Tamer.

The desert lizard beast tried to move upwards. It was 100 feet below ground right now, making it harder for other beasts or Beast Tamers to sense it.

[You should stay in a safe spot. It’s a Tier-8 beast, and the parasite on its back is a Tier-7 beast,] Stella said to him before ending the shared vision ability.

Jeremy’s vision returned to normal. He then jumped off. He landed on the ground with a heavy thud.

Thud!

His feet touched the ground. The next second, he could feel a tremor coming from the earth. The desert lizard was going to attack.

"Feathered Steps."

Jeremy used his footwork to get away from the place. Right then, he could feel something moving underground. It was coming at him.

"Stella, I think I need your help." After saying that, he summoned her.

Swoosh!

A six-winged butterfly appeared. Right then, she covered her wings in starlight power. Both beasts were going to be tough opponents.

Jeremy Night, who was running, felt the root moving underground stop chasing him. Instead, it was going to attack her now.

Boom!

Stella was in mid-air, but the root split open the ground to appear above the surface. The root went shooting towards the six-winged butterfly.

Meanwhile, the desert lizard was right behind the root.

Swoosh!

Stella was ready. She anticipated the attack and vanished from the spot. The root missed and struck empty air.

She appeared a few hundred metres away from her previous spot.

Boom!

The Tier-8 Desert Lizard appeared above ground, breaking the surface. The shock force spread outward.

It uprooted the green patches and surrounding vegetation.

The massive frame of the 5-metre-tall desert lizard stood on the ground. It was a 12-metre-long beast with a tail length of 6 metres.

It was brown in colour. Not only that, but there was a big lump on the back of the beast. The big lump was the body of the Tier-7 parasite root beast.

Boom!

The parasite root was now extending like another tail, reaching over 100 metres. The tree roots were thick and brown in colour.

If one forgot to pay close attention, they would fail to notice that the two of them were separate beasts, not a single one.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Night was already standing 200 metres away from the spot. When the Tier-8 beast appeared, he had used his speed ability to cover the last 50 metres.
