Chapter 763: The 7 Gods (3)

And this led to a problem.

In this world, one was not allowed to use their own power.

One could only start by following this world’s Extraordinary path.

And a Sequence One Main God would definitely possess uniqueness.

When that time came, one thing would be inevitable.

Confronting a Sequence One as a Sequence Two would be the best-case scenario.

If the source of the Sequence only went up to Sequence Two,

then he would be stuck at Sequence Three.

Killing a Sequence One as a Sequence Three was fundamentally impossible.

At this moment, after understanding all this, Hu Qi finally grasped the most difficult part of completing the mission.

Fighting beyond his Sequence.

Or, he could take it step-by-step: investigate, obtain information on the other gods,

and through scheming, incite conflict among them to profit from the chaos.

In an instant, these thoughts flashed through his mind.

‘If the few Managers could cooperate, success wouldn’t be impossible.’

Unfortunately, that was destined to be impossible.

Thus, in a way, this only increased the difficulty of Main Quest One.

Afterward, Hu Qi asked a few more questions.

Once the man had written down the information on the Shadow Walker Professional path,

Hu Qi waved a hand, dismissing him.

Dick breathed a small sigh of relief at the command.

His entire body melted back into the shadows.

But in Hu Qi’s perception,

the wisp of the Fire of Sin belonging to him rapidly receded into the distance.

The reason Hu Qi had been able to sense his presence was partly due to his own keen senses,

but mostly because of the unique perspective his Fire Torturer Ability granted him on the Fire of Sin.

This rendered the man’s Disguise almost useless against him.

…

「In the room.」

Hu Qi leaned back against the hard chair.

A flame ignited at his fingertip.

He casually burned the two books, worth Ten Dragon Crowns, letting the Ashes fall through the cracks between his fingers.

Then, Hu Qi’s gaze grew distant as he fell into deep thought.

‘Based on the information I have now, completing Main Quest One by hunting a Main God is nearly impossible.’

‘The source of these Professionals is the very beings I’m supposed to hunt. To follow the paths they created only to kill them… that’s a fool’s errand.’

‘Therefore, the best method is to deduce and create a new Professional path, one that transcends these gods.’

‘For the people of this world, achieving this would be nearly impossible.’

‘They’ve never seen an Extraordinary System from outside this world.’

‘Everything they know is inextricably linked to the gods.’

‘Even the most secret Professional paths trace their origins back to some high-level being.’

‘And as for the power of these beings, they aren’t even as powerful as the Seven True Gods. The pinnacle of their paths is likely only Sequence Three, the level of a Demigod.’

‘With that kind of power, killing a Sequence One Main God is utterly impossible.’

But that didn’t apply to Hu Qi.

As a True God, with his own powers of deduction and a little help from Crimson, he could very well make the impossible a reality.

But before that, he first had to collect more information on Professionals to use as a blueprint.

Although those books recorded a few Professional paths, the information was fragmented and incomplete.

They only contained crude descriptions for two or three Sequence Nine paths, without a single word on how to advance to Sequence Eight.

This information was of little use for his deductions.

He needed more detailed data on Professionals: complete advancement systems, the core Abilities of each Sequence, and the connections and differences between the various paths.

After all, this world’s rules were extremely hostile toward other Extraordinary Systems. If he wanted to create an independent Professional path, he had to use the native Professional system as a foundation and build upon its framework.
