Chapter 775 Tide God (Part 1)

She was a young woman with pale skin and emerald-green eyes.

From the memories of the Tide Cultists, Hu Qi had learned that she was the direct descendant of the Priest of this Sea God Church, and also its designated successor.

Her power had already reached Sequence Seven, ’Sea Demon’.

The moment their eyes met,

a cold glint flashed in the woman’s eyes. She didn’t waste a single word.

She lifted a slender hand, and the air around them instantly grew thick and humid.

WHOOSH!

Three violent water tornadoes materialized out of thin air, forming a triangle to surround Hu Qi.

The currents were mixed with sharp ice crystals, letting out a grating shriek as they spun rapidly.

Even more terrifying, a bone-chilling cold spread with the splashing mist, threatening to freeze Hu Qi solid.

However,

the very next moment,

the three water tornadoes exploded, collapsing into seawater.

Before she could even react,

the woman felt a sharp pain shoot through her body.

Her limbs detached from her torso like building blocks.

Hu Qi appeared directly in front of her,

his hand clamping around her neck.

Before the Godslayer’s Demon-Breaking Traits,

Professionals who followed a Caster path like this were undoubtedly the easiest to deal with.

"No matter who you are, for daring to slaughter my Lord’s believers, my Lord will not forgive you!"

The woman, now a human stump, stared daggers at Hu Qi.

In response,

Hu Qi couldn’t be bothered to pay her any mind.

He used the Heaven-Seizing Technique.

However, considering she was a believer of that Sea God,

there was no telling what hidden dangers might lie within her power.

To be safe, Hu Qi only seized her memories.

He did not directly take the power of her Extraordinary Path.

A moment later,

a desiccated corpse was tossed to the ground.

Without pausing, Hu Qi swiftly departed,

heading in another direction, toward the Governor’s Mansion.

...

Meanwhile.

Outside.

In the dark corners, damp alleyways, and abandoned warehouses of Night Crow Harbor... all the hidden Tide Cultists suddenly looked up in unison.

Their pupils abruptly contracted, then violently dilated. Bloodshot veins crawled across the murky whites of their eyes, and their lips twisted into a maniacal grin.

"It is our Lord... The great Tide God is calling!"

Amidst hoarse roars, the cultists unhesitatingly drew their daggers and viciously slit their own wrists.

Blood gushed out, yet strangely, it hovered in the air as if pulled by an invisible tide, slithering across the ground to form twisted Runes.

The sound of the dripping Blood Beads gradually synchronized with the frequency of the distant ocean waves.

Low murmurs echoed throughout Night Crow Harbor. The patterns drawn in blood began to glow with a faint, eerie blue light, as if countless eyes were opening in the abyss.

The scent of the tide suddenly became suffocatingly strong.

Not long after,

a fisherman living near the sea went out to relieve himself.

Suddenly, he heard a rumbling sound approaching from a distance through the wind and snow.

He looked up.

But what he saw made him freeze on the spot.

After a long moment, he finally processed it.

The color drained from his face in an instant.

A terrified scream then erupted from his mouth.

"Oh no! Run! A tsunami is coming!"

In the distance, on the surface of the sea,

the water that had receded reappeared.

It was no longer retreating. Instead, it began to surge forward in a bizarre manner.

On the horizon, a black line gradually materialized, accompanied by a low roar like the bellowing of an ancient beast.

The black line grew closer and taller, finally transforming into a colossal wave hundreds of meters high—a black wall pressing down on Night Crow Harbor.

Wherever the great wave passed, the air seemed to be torn apart, letting out a deafening howl.

Snowflakes danced before the wave, swept high into the air by the violent currents.

The wooden pilings of the docks were like fragile matchsticks before the great wave, instantly snapped and swallowed.

Moored ships were tossed into the air, shattering into countless pieces at the crest of the wave.

Warehouse roofs were torn off, and brick-and-stone walls collapsed with a thunderous crash under the water’s impact.

The great wave mercilessly crashed into Night Crow Harbor, and the narrow streets were instantly flooded.

The seawater, carrying splintered wood, chunks of ice, and debris, surged through every door and window.

Countless people screamed in terror.

However, what no one noticed was that,

riding atop the monstrous tsunami, a massive, dark figure stood upon the waves.

It looked down indifferently at the city being submerged by the sea.
