Chapter 1140: Risky Fusion

"I'm ready to go!" Sebastian shouted with a smile as he saw Kyle's six Avatars in front of him. "We can finally have some excitement again!"

Kyle could very clearly see that Sebastian was just putting up a front. Others might not notice, but Kyle could tell that Sebastian felt hollow and broken. He knew that Sebastian was just masking his pain with excitement. He was trying to distract himself.

"It'll be like the good ol' days!" Kyle answered with a smirk. "Just the two of us, trying to make a name for ourselves in the Immortal Dimension."

Kyle knew that it wasn't his place to solve Sebastian's problems. Even more, Kyle probably couldn't even help him. He wanted to help Sebastian by listening to his pain and worries, but he wouldn't force it. If Sebastian wanted to distract himself, Kyle would help him do just that.

"So, what's the plan?" Sebastian asked. "Do I undergo my Fusion right now, or do I wait until we're in the Supreme World again?"

"I've talked to Swamp Dragon," Kyle answered. "He can suppress the signs of your breakthrough. It's better if you undergo your Fusion right now. Then, you'll make your Avatar, and we'll leave afterward."

"Sure thing," Sebastian said as he pulled out his spear.

He had thought about changing his Imposing Law to one about his body when he had been in the Domain Realm. After all, only these kinds of Imposing Laws could reach 100% quality. However, he decided it would be better to keep his current Imposing Law, since he might need it to advance. Then, when he had heard about Kyle condensing a weapon as an Avatar, he had decided that he would never change his Imposing Law. He would follow Kyle's path.

Sadly, since Sebastian had no hope of reaching the Unique Fusion Realm, he wouldn't have Kyle's advantage. His weapon would count as a full Avatar. Since his weapon and body would always be together, this meant that Sebastian would practically only have one Avatar, but that one Avatar would have amazing power.

Sebastian closed his eyes, and then he thrust his spear forward.

Reality warped as images of lightning beasts appeared and disappeared.

When the strike ended, a wave of Energy washed over the surroundings. Luckily, a mysterious barrier stopped the wave. Naturally, Swamp Dragon had intercepted the wave.

Sebastian's Refined Law became complete with this strike, and in the next moment, a storm of Energy appeared around him.

As expected, Sebastian's Refined Law had reached the power of a Level Eight Law.

The storm of Energy was contained within Sebastian's immediate surroundings as Swamp Dragon took some Energy from across the world and dumped it around Sebastian.

Within a couple of seconds, Sebastian finished his advancement and officially entered the Major Fusion Realm.

Afterward, Sebastian summoned his Immortal Lightning Elemental and looked at it with determination.

"Kyle, I've thought about this long and hard," he said in a serious voice. "I want to try fusing with my Elemental."

Kyle's brows furrowed when he heard that.

"That's insanely risky," Kyle commented. "You're supposed to fuse with your Core Spark, not with your Elemental. Your Elemental is not part of your existence. It's something external that you simply control. This could kill you."

"I know," Sebastian answered with conviction. "As I've said, I thought long and hard about this."

Kyle looked at Sebastian with a bit of worry. He didn't think this was a good idea, but...

'Seriously, if I were in his shoes... I would probably do the same thing.'

"Then, I hope this works out," Kyle said.

Sebastian nodded, and moments later, his Immortal Lightning Elemental shot into his body.

Almost immediately, Sebastian's Energy became chaotic. Even though he could control his Elemental and his existence was attuned to it, the Elemental was still a different existence. Sebastian could only control it.

Kyle watched as Sebastian's body burned and broke in several places. Death was not the only bad outcome. During Fusion, one's Spirit was vulnerable. If the Immortal Lightning weakened one's Spirit, it was possible that the world would believe that the Seeker was supposed to be this weak. This could permanently reduce Sebastian's maximum Energy capacity.

Sebastian grew weaker as his Aspects combined, and then the most dangerous moment arrived.

Sebastian's Core Spark liquefied, which meant it lost its hold over the Elemental. This meant that the Elemental had turned into a regular Elemental again, and right now, it was inside Sebastian's body.

Lightning exploded out of Sebastian's body, but he only sustained some injuries.

'The worst-case scenario won't happen,' Kyle thought when he saw that. 'If it had truly turned into a wild Elemental, he would already be dead.'

The Immortal Lightning within Sebastian rushed towards the liquefied Core Spark, and as it came into contact with it, the Immortal Lightning turned almost harmless. It still had the power of Immortal Lightning, but it didn't hurt Sebastian anymore.

Within moments, the battle within Sebastian stopped. The lightning around him didn't vanish, but it also didn't hurt him any longer.

Eventually, all of the lightning retreated into Sebastian.

BANG!

A storm of Energy appeared, but Swamp Dragon suppressed the commotion it tried to cause.

Sebastian was becoming an Advanced Ascendant, which meant that his Fusion had succeeded.

Kyle looked at Sebastian as he waited for the result. He wasn't entirely sure of Sebastian's condition.

Some seconds later, the storm of Energy vanished, and Sebastian opened his eyes. For a while, he only inspected his body.

"So? How did it go?" Kyle asked.

"I'm not sure," Sebastian answered. "The good news is that I didn't really change. I'm not some kind of Elemental, and I can't just turn myself into one. I'm still a regular human, as far as the world is concerned."

"That's good to hear," Kyle commented. "How much Energy do you have?"

"I don't know how much I'm supposed to have," Sebastian answered. "I don't have a reference value."

"About 120%," Swamp Dragon transmitted to them.

Sebastian's and Kyle's eyes widened in shock.

120%?

Didn't that mean that Sebastian could technically become a Legendary Ascendant, assuming he had access to a perfected Imposing Law?

"It worked!" Sebastian shouted. "I took a risk, and it worked! The Red Witch told me that she didn't know how the Fusion would work, but she also said that she believed it might increase my Energy storage!"

"My Immortal Elemental had a lot of Energy, but most of it dissipated during the Fusion," Sebastian explained. "My Core Spark could only fuse with so much of its Energy, and I wasn't sure if I made a gain or a loss."

Sebastian smirked. "Turns out, it's a gain! Who would've thought?"

Kyle smiled as he saw how excited Sebastian was. This time, it was genuine.

"Make your first Avatar," Kyle said. "I want to know how your Energy acts."

"Sure," Sebastian said as he created a ball of Energy, which quickly turned into a spear.

Swamp Dragon suppressed the storm of Energy, and everyone waited until Sebastian's Energy had fully recovered. Then, they saw the result.

"Ah, it's not a fixed amount of Energy but a relative one," Kyle said with a sigh. "Yeah, well, it's still better than nothing."

Sebastian's Energy had recovered to 108% of the Energy, which meant someone needed to spend 10% of their Energy to create an Avatar, not 10% of the Energy a Fulfilled Ascendant should have.

It wasn't as amazing as Kyle's situation, but it still was better than normal.

Sebastian made another human Avatar and another weapon Avatar, bringing his total to four Avatars.

Each Avatar had 84% of the Energy a Fulfilled Ascendant should have, which wasn't bad. He had four Avatars, but each of his Avatars had more Energy than the Avatars of someone who had created three.

Practically, Sebastian only had two Avatars since they acted as pairs, but since they could work together, one could say Sebastian had two Avatars with 168% of the Energy of a normal Seeker.

Based on Energy, Sebastian's Avatars had access to 8% more relative Energy than Kyle's Avatars. After all, his Avatars only had 80% plus 80%.

However, Kyle had six pairs, while Sebastian only had two.

As Kyle looked at Sebastian, he felt some excitement.

'I don't think I have to worry about his power. With his current setup, he's pretty strong.'

Then, Kyle looked at Ayuvar.
