Chapter 616: Chapter 397: Pole Star

At that moment, Li Miaoyi approached Wang Yi again. "Wang Yi," he said softly, "there’s an important place within this Beidou Mini World called the Intelligence Market. Barring any surprises, Liu Wanshi should be there right now. Come, I’ll take you to see it. You might even be able to buy some crucial information regarding the Pole Star there!"

"The Intelligence Market?"

The name piqued Wang Yi’s interest. He followed Li Miaoyi into a city, where the two of them traveled on the subway just like ordinary mortals. They soon arrived in front of a commercial building named the Ten Thousand Worlds Mansion. The structure towered at a hundred stories tall, its exterior completely encased in glass, exuding a strong modern aesthetic.

"The Intelligence Market is hidden right inside this Ten Thousand Worlds Mansion. Follow me!"

Li Miaoyi took the lead. Just as he was about to enter the building, a security guard in a black uniform blocked his path.

"Hold it right there! Who are you?" The guard was a towering, burly man, though he was merely an ordinary mortal. He stared warily at Li Miaoyi and Wang Yi, eyeing their strange attire. "We got an important gathering inside the building today. No invite, no entry! If you wanna go in, cough up your invitations!"

"Invitations?" Li Miaoyi froze. Where was he supposed to get an invitation?

While he was still trying to figure out how to explain their situation, Wang Yi softly uttered a single word. "Freeze."

He cast the Body Stabilization Technique, instantly paralyzing the mortal guard.

"Why make it so complicated to enter a building? Let’s go," Wang Yi said. He no longer had the time or the patience to play dress-up as a mortal. His only desire was to acquire useful information about the Pole Star as quickly as possible.

Sun Miaoshan stared in shock. He rubbed his chin, a troubled look crossing his face. "Ah, my apologies, I didn’t explain it clearly. You aren’t supposed to reveal your abilities here. You have to disguise yourself as a mortal, otherwise the intelligence merchants will refuse to trade with you!"

"Oh? Who made that rule?"

"Liu Wanshi himself!"

"He’s quite the eccentric character," Wang Yi remarked. "But what’s done is done, so let’s just keep moving. Where is he?"

"The sixty-sixth floor!"

"Then to the sixty-sixth floor we go."

Wang Yi took a massive stride, compressing the earth beneath his feet. He reached the stairwell in a flash. With his second step, he arrived at the second floor. With his third, he reached the third floor...

A few mortals caught sight of him and shrieked in terror, as if they had just seen a ghost.

Li Miaoyi, on the other hand, walked over to the elevators and squeezed in alongside the ordinary mortals. "Excuse me, coming through! Sixty-sixth floor, please and thank you!"

His honest and good-natured demeanor drew quite a bit of attention. After all, he was dressed in a traditional long robe, while everyone else in the elevator wore sharp suits and leather shoes, looking like the absolute elite of society.

By the time Wang Yi arrived at the sixty-sixth floor, Sun Miaoshan’s elevator was still slowly making its way up.

The entire floor was a sprawling, open-plan space. The moment Wang Yi stepped inside, he could tell this place was extraordinary. Not only was the spiritual energy incredibly dense, but there also seemed to be the hidden power of a formation array at work. As for why he could sense this so clearly? He had simply experienced and witnessed too much over the years, naturally developing an intuition and perception far beyond that of a normal person.

"Who might you be? Entering uninvited is quite rude."

A voice suddenly rang out. Wang Yi didn’t panic. He calmly followed the sound and spotted a white-haired elder dressed in a loose, white martial arts uniform.

The old man was surprisingly trendy. He wore tinted sunglasses, fingered a sandalwood beaded bracelet, and sported slicked-back hair that practically gleamed. He sat properly beside a tea table.

[Liu Wanshi: Level 703 Chaos Lord. Original name: Ye Beidou, Lord of the Beidou Royal Court. ?????]

Wang Yi had already sensed the elder’s presence, so he wasn’t particularly surprised. However, upon seeing the man’s identity information, he immediately lost his composure.

"The Insight Divine Techniques couldn’t possibly be wrong," Wang Yi thought. "This guy’s level is actually as high as Level 703! On top of that, he is Ye Beidou, the Lord of the Beidou Royal Court. He didn’t perish after all. Instead, he took on the alias Liu Wanshi and became an intelligence merchant here?"

Wang Yi quickly weighed his options and decided not to expose Ye Beidou’s true identity. He cupped his hands respectfully. "I am Wang Yi. I wish to find a safe passage to the Pole Star!"

"The Pole Star?" The elder raised a brow slightly. "As far as I know, the Pole Star is currently blockaded by the Primordial Magnetic Divine Country and the Cosmic Energy Company. They want to transform the planet into an energy base. Sneaking in there won’t be easy!"

"Which is exactly why I’d like to ask for your help, old Mr. Liu!"

"Hmph!" Ye Beidou’s expression turned icy. "You casually showed off your divine abilities in my domain, breaking my rules, and you still expect me to help you?"

"I can offer compensation!"

"Compensation? Forget it," Ye Beidou sneered. "What kind of compensation could a rule-breaker like you possibly offer?"

"You should take a look at it first before making a decision," Wang Yi replied.

As he spoke, Wang Yi opened the Chaos Realm, retrieved a Scroll from within, and casually tossed it toward Ye Beidou. The Scroll flew over and hovered motionless right in front of the elder. Ye Beidou cast a nonchalant glance at it, but his spirit instantly jolted.

"This... this item..."

A look of absolute ecstasy gradually spread across his face. He carefully tucked the Scroll away. "This is an enormous favor. Speak. How exactly do you want me to help you?"

"I need all available information on the Pole Star, as well as a direct passage to enter it!"

"Deal! Wait here for a moment."

Ye Beidou’s attitude had improved drastically. He stood up and walked over to a bookshelf. While it looked entirely ordinary, it actually concealed a hidden mechanism and housed a massive collection of Jade Scrolls. With a faint CLINKING and CLATTERING, Ye Beidou immediately and meticulously began sorting through them.

As for the item Wang Yi had gifted him, it was an enhanced object he had obtained from opening a Chaos Blind Box. It was a system prop known as the Territory Repair Scroll. True to its name, its function was to repair a territory, capable of completely reshaping mountains and rivers. Because the Scroll had been enhanced, its power was even greater. Even if a territory had been entirely eradicated, it could still rebuild it from scratch.

Given that Ye Beidou was the Lord of the Beidou Divine Country—and that his kingdom had already been destroyed—recreating his divine country was now entirely possible with this item in his possession.

A moment later, Li Miaoyi finally reached the sixty-sixth floor. He had evidently been here more than once and was acquainted with Ye Beidou. However, he probably had no idea that the man known as Liu Wanshi was actually Ye Beidou, a super existence whose level exceeded 700.

Soon enough, Ye Beidou presented a Jade Scroll to Wang Yi. "Everything you need is right in here."

He then pulled out a token. "This is a teleportation keepsake. Crush it on the eighty-eighth floor, and a beam of rainbow light will automatically transport you to the Pole Star! I’ll warn you one last time: the Pole Star is no ordinary place. It connects to countless voids. It’s best if you don’t try to fly while you’re there."

"Thank you for the warning!"

Wang Yi cupped his hands in gratitude. The moment the Jade Scroll landed in his palm, he naturally understood how to use it. Simply by pressing it against his forehead, he could instantly absorb a vast amount of information. The data was entirely focused on the Pole Star, ranging from ancient legends to the most up-to-date reports on its current state. After a brief skim, Wang Yi couldn’t help but marvel. Ye Beidou truly lived up to his reputation as an intelligence broker; the information he collected was remarkably comprehensive!

"The purpose of this trip has been fulfilled!" Wang Yi turned to Li Miaoyi. "Miaoyi, I won’t be journeying any further with you. Thank you for your assistance this time. Consider this item a gift. If you ever need a favor in the future, I absolutely won’t refuse!"

"Very well!" Li Miaoyi cupped his hands toward Wang Yi. "Safe travels. I’m sure our paths will cross again!"

"Until we meet again!"

With those parting words, Wang Yi strode off. He quickly made his way to the eighty-eighth floor of the Ten Thousand Worlds Mansion.

The eighty-eighth floor was decorated exactly like a modern gym. It was packed with various workout equipment and bustling with numerous gym-goers breaking a sweat. Wang Yi frowned slightly. He stepped into the room, pulled out the token Ye Beidou had given him, and applied a bit of pressure.

With a sharp CRACK, the token immediately shattered.

In a flash, a small cat trotted right up to Wang Yi and let out a soft MEOW. The kitten was incredibly adorable and clearly well-loved in the gym, treated like a precious mascot by the patrons. However, as Wang Yi’s eyes flashed, he could clearly see its true nature. It was actually a Chaos Spirit Beast known as a Seven-Colored Cool Cat, and its level was a staggering 650!

"Well I’ll be," Wang Yi muttered to himself. "True masters really do hide in plain sight, huh?"

The little cat simply raised its right paw toward Wang Yi and gave it a gentle wave. Instantly, Wang Yi felt a massive force yanking at him. He didn’t resist. In the next second, a spatial rift tore open before him. He stepped inside, and a brilliant beam of rainbow light manifested beneath his feet, carrying him swiftly into the void.
