Chapter 617: Chapter 398: Tianji Ecosystem
The streaming light faded, and suddenly, a bright expanse unfolded. Wang Yi landed steadily. He knew he had arrived at the Pole Star.
Observing his surroundings, Wang Yi realized the Pole Star had no World Lines. Looking up, he saw the Starry Sky right above him, graced by a Seven-Colored aurora resembling a flowing ribbon. To his eyes, this aurora was clearly a boundless Starlight River.
The land was vast, with distant mountains outlined like pale ink strokes. A black, grass-like plant grew across the ground, stretching out like a carpet to the edge of his vision. Wang Yi crouched down and plucked a blade of the black grass. He found it as hard as cast iron—it was actually a bizarre metallic plant.
Using his Insight Divine Techniques, Wang Yi learned it was called Pole Grass. It was an alloy plant primarily composed of starlight black iron and possessed biological activity. Its growth rate was agonizingly slow; after hundreds of years, it could evolve into a mobile Pole Spider. According to the information provided by Ye Beidou, the Pole Spider was a ferocious beast with exceptionally tenacious Life Force. They were social creatures, much like the Insect Race, possessing strong territorial instincts and highly coordinated movements. However, in Wang Yi’s view, the Pole Spiders might have already evolved into Eco Earth Deities.
"Interesting. This Pole Grass covering the mountains and plains is a pretty good resource..." Wang Yi observed. "The ecosystem here is quite unique too. Perhaps an Eco-Dominator has already been born here!"
He tossed the Pole Grass away. The moment the small blade touched the ground, it took root—a clear testament to its tenacious Life Force.
Truth be told, Wang Yi had no real interest in the Pole Star’s unique resources and was only mildly curious about its ecosystem. His primary purpose for coming here was to enter the Void Heaven pocket world! A short while later, he discovered a lake. At its center lay a mass of glowing mist. This mist was bizarre, taking the shape of a lotus platform just large enough for a single person to sit cross-legged upon. According to Ye Beidou’s intel, that Light Mist Lotus Platform connected to a Void Heaven pocket world, acting as a Teleportation Gate.
The Pole Star connected to countless pocket worlds and housed numerous space-time passages. The Void Heaven pocket world, however, was unique. Ye Beidou’s intel had mentioned that it seemed only the soul could enter it.
"To be precise, it’s not just the soul entering, but the Heaven Soul!" Wang Yi muttered. "If the Heaven Soul is strong enough, the physical body can enter as well!"
This knowledge came from the Ninth Dimension, where the explanation of the soul was far more concrete and detailed, introducing the concept of the three ethereal souls and seven corporeal spirits. The three ethereal souls were the Heaven Soul, Earth Soul, and Life Soul. What was commonly referred to as the soul, or the Divine Soul, was actually the Heaven Soul! The Heaven Soul was the divine presence hovering three feet above one’s head, capable of roaming through the void. A complete set of three ethereal souls and seven corporeal spirits was tied to the profound mysteries of numerous Laws, such as the Void Heaven Law, Yin Death Law, Life Law, and Yang God Law. Wang Yi currently knew their names but didn’t truly grasp their inner workings.
He only knew that if he wanted to enter the Void Heaven pocket world, his soul—which resided high in the Ninth Dimension—would have to step in. This meant leaving the Ninth Dimension. Because Wang Yi hadn’t ascended to the Ninth Dimension through his own power, returning would likely be extremely difficult if he left. And if he couldn’t return, it meant losing the privileges of a higher-dimensional Player. However, to find Li Longyu, there seemed to be no other way.
Wang Yi’s current state was much like playing a virtual reality game. If he encountered something he didn’t understand in the game, he could check guides and information in the real world. Any danger his character faced in the game—even the character’s death—posed no harm to his true body in reality. This was the absolute advantage and privilege of a higher-dimensional Player.
Standing before the Light Mist Lotus Platform, Wang Yi hesitated for a moment, but that hesitation was swiftly replaced by resolve.
"I’ve fought my way here, victorious in a hundred battles, and I’ve never cowered," he murmured. "If I were to back down now, I would be losing my Dao Heart..."
With that, he took a step forward and swiftly sat cross-legged on the Light Mist Lotus Platform. The next moment, he felt his Divine Soul detach from his body as the world began to spin dizzily around him!
After a moment of trance, Wang Yi found himself in a resplendent world of light and shadow. This realm felt unreal, much like a dream. Various glowing mists drifted about, shifting rapidly. One second they morphed into humans, the next into beasts, and then they evolved into entire landscapes, projecting mirage-like images. His Divine Soul had descended from the Ninth Dimension to this place. Miraculously, the Inherited Immortal Hall had followed him here as well. The Immortal Hall stood majestic yet ethereal, resembling a mere phantom rather than something physical. The Bronze War Chariot was parked in front of its entrance, and the inherited convoy was lined up in formation. They, too, exuded the same ethereal, illusory feeling!
"The lines between illusion and reality blur so seamlessly. It truly is profoundly wondrous!"
Wang Yi clenched his fists, feeling his power. However, he couldn’t use many of his Divine Techniques since they lacked the physical support of his body. Many system items, equipment, and weapons were also rendered unusable. Looking back, he spotted a Light Mist Lotus Platform. This lotus platform acted as the Teleportation Gate. He realized that as long as he sat cross-legged on it, he could likely leave this Void Heaven world. As for whether his Divine Soul would return to the Ninth Dimension or back to his game character on the Pole Star, he couldn’t be certain yet.
"Since I’m already here, I should focus on finding Xiaoli. I just wonder if his Divine Soul is in this pocket world!"
Wang Yi gazed into the distance. Then, mounting the Bronze War Chariot, he began his exploration across this world of light and shadow. This Void Heaven pocket world was not small by any means; it spanned roughly several thousand miles in radius.
Three days later.
After exploring extensively, Wang Yi discovered a plaza situated on a central mountain. In the middle of this plaza stood a dilapidated divine statue. It was severely weathered, its facial features completely obscured. Yet, a trace of an imposing Realm still seemed to linger upon it, radiating an aura of sheer, majestic dominance.
