Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts
Chapter 1955: Nathan’s Goal
Mae used her power to hide everyone’s presence, allowing them to look around without anyone finding out about them.
Flora asked, "Is that... a kind of business? I mean, are they paying just to use the portals?"
"I don’t know whether they’re paying to enter the portals or they’re actually paying for bodyguards. I mean, it’s fine to pay the bodyguards when we’re facing those aliens, right?"
"That is true, but..." Flora narrowed her eyes.
She saw people paying without hesitation as though he was giving a charity.
More importantly, after paying, they received a ticket and simply stood there as if they were waiting for the sales to finish.
All those people didn’t seem to have good strength. Two of them were at most master class summoners, not even grandmasters.
While it was true that not all aliens were strong, the average was significantly higher compared to their original planet. So, it would be quite risky to enter there.
They waited for a bit and realized that Flora was actually the correct one. As soon as they finished, the one they called Mr. Kappolo was moving toward the nearby building. It was a building that was made to seal the portals so that no one could enter without permission.
Nathan narrowed his eyes when he saw Mr. Kappolo standing outside, retrieving the tickets.
The people who had bought the tickets entered the portal one by one. In total, there were 78 people entering the portal, but Mr. Kappolo himself didn’t actually enter. In the end, he wasn’t even that strong. He only had a big build that made him look menacing.
"..." Nathan narrowed his eyes. "I do want to learn about power here, but..."
"This does feel disgusting. They are being squeezed just to enter the portal. Are they going to pay again if they want to reach their destination planets?" Flora shook her head helplessly.
"Maybe..." Nathan took out his notes. "According to Catalith, this planet is known for its elementalists. They are basically the people who are utilizing elements. In a way, it’s similar to us, but there are no summoners."
"If they’re using their elements like that, how come there is no teleportation circle? I mean, on the battlefield, you definitely want something like that, right? Someone should be able to utilize a space element. Even in our world, if you don’t exist, there will still be Evelyn."
Nathan nodded. "That’s what confuses me as well. I’m assuming that they’re utilizing their power in a different way. Like Catalith is using a medium to transmute nature."
"Most likely. That’s why Lord Frost has an absolute ice element that is already close to absolute zero." Flora crossed her arms, contemplating. "What about the third planet?"
"That one? They are mostly using water. They have a high affinity for water, rather than anything else. Do you have any intention to go there?"
"If it’s just water, I don’t really want to go there."
"Then we don’t have to go there." Nathan nodded calmly. "In any case, let’s head somewhere else. I have heard from Catalith that there’s a zone quite interesting even from her perspective."
"A zone?"
"Yes. While she hadn’t visited this world because of the non-interference agreements to ensure that the three planets remain neutral and only help each other on the battlefield, she had heard about the zone from the delegations that used to visit this planet for negotiations.
"Apparently, there is a zone that has been plaguing this world with its sandstorms. I’m thinking about visiting that place and taking a quick look before leaving."
"Why is that?" Flora looked confused.
"I’m talking about you." Nathan smiled. "Right now, I haven’t given you all the absolute elements, not because I don’t want you to possess them, but because I want you to focus on what you currently have first.
"Right now, this zone might contain a catalyst for your absolute earth element. So, if there’s indeed a catalyst, I will give you the absolute earth element and have you nurture it in that zone or using that catalyst."
"Ohhh!" Flora gasped. "So, that’s the reason you brought me here."
"Technically." Nathan nodded, confirming it. "This is not the same as Lord Frost’s situation, where we can gain everything. We will just take half of that, so you can nurture your absolute element to a certain level. Then, we will let the rest nurture itself back so as to not steal the opportunities meant for the people in this world."
"Fair enough." Flora nodded. They would be stealing, but they weren’t going to be greedy. "But we have to confirm whether this world is Lord Frost’s hometown first, right?"
"Yeah. I mean, the confirmation is done since we already know the planet’s name. I’m just thinking that laying him down in his hometown, not just home planet, will be much more respectable."
Flora thought for a moment before agreeing with him. "Understood. Shall we ask some people? It’s better to ask someone smart and strong."
Nathan nodded. He first asked them to follow him to the top of the nearby building.
Then, Nathan closed his eyes and spread his energy as subtly as possible. His third eye appeared and opened, allowing him to read the surrounding energy.
His infinity eyes were watching the entire area from a third omniscient point of view. It looked like the Dragon Eyes were true to its name.
When he looked at the world again, it felt like he could read everything accurately.
Flora was just staring at his eye. On the one hand, the third eye looked sharp and cool. It didn’t match Nathan’s appearance, but if she thought of it as an accessory, it would make Nathan look cooler.
On the other hand, Flora felt sad about this. In pursuit of strength to protect them, Nathan had to take everything he could. This dragon eye might be the start, but he was going to be less and less human.
She was just afraid that Nathan would end up becoming a mutant. She felt a shame that Nathan had to sacrifice himself like this just to protect them. They wanted to help him, but they weren’t enough to share all that burden.
