Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts
Chapter 1975: Wary of Loki
Nathan observed Loki carefully.
From his legend, he could conclude three things about Loki. First, Loki created mischief just because he wanted to. It could be out of boredom, but in the end, he caused it out of his will.
Sometimes, he did it without thinking about the consequences to the surroundings. However, it was true that a lot of his mischief ended up in the gods benefiting from him.
Back then, Loki cut Sif’s golden hair and nearly lost his own head. At that time, Thor caught Loki and threatened to break every bone in his body unless he secured a replacement.
In the end, Loki visited the dwarves, who crafted new living golden hair for Sif. But it didn’t stop there. He ended up bringing back Odin’s spear, Gungnir.
Loki mocked the dwarf and bet his own head that the dwarves couldn’t craft treasures to rival them.
In the end, when the dwarves were about to finish, he transformed into a fly and bit one of them, repeatedly disrupting the bellows. As a result, Mjolnir had a short handle.
Still, Loki lost the bet, but when they wanted to claim his head, Loki pointed out that he had wagered his head, but not his neck, and the dwarves had no right to take any part of his neck.
Unable to cut the neck without violating the strict terms of the wager, they instead sewed his lips shut.
There was also another time when an unnamed giant demanded Freyja. Loki convinced the gods to accept the deal, assuming the building could never be finished on time without help.
However, it turned out that the giant could finish it. Terrified of losing Freyja, the angry gods threatened Loki with a gruesome death unless he fixed the mess.
In the end, he transformed himself into a beautiful female mare and lured the giant’s stallion away into the woods.
In the end, the builder chased the mare all night and missed the deadline. In the end, Loki became pregnant from the encounter and later gave birth to Sleipnir, whom he ultimately gifted to Odin.
In one way or another, there was a lot of mischief from Loki that ended with the gods receiving many wonderful things. Mjolnir, Gungnir, the wall fortifying Asgard and even Sleipnir.
In a way, he understood why the gods were having headaches because of Loki. At the same time, they were hypocrites. After all, they ended up receiving the extraordinary items that were created because of Loki’s prank.
Of course, there was a time when Loki pranked someone, which cost him his life. In the myth, Frigg exacted oaths from fire, water, metals, stones, animals, and plants. She skipped mistletoe.
Discovering the weakness, Loki disguised himself and questioned Frigg. The gods amused themselves by throwing weapons and stones at Baldur, knowing nothing could injure him.
Baldur’s blind brother stood outside the circle, unable to participate. Loki approached him, handed him a mistletoe dart, and offered to guide his aim.
In the end, the projectile pierced Baldur and killed him. That was what Nathan was worried about when summoning Loki.
He knew that the girls would never harm each other, but the same couldn’t be applied if other outside forces harmed them?
With his luck, Loki might end up thinking that he wanted to create a much worse situation than their current situation by pranking the girls. As a result, the situation, which was normally handled by them, suddenly became something beyond their power to solve.
And it might not be just one girl who died in the process. The entire group might end up dead.
Hence, Nathan didn’t plan to treat Loki like those gods. He would treat him strictly from the beginning.
The problem was that Loki seemed to have accessed his memories. His power would most likely be similar to Mae’s, so it was clear that Loki had already known everything about them.
Nathan took a deep breath before saying, "If you are expecting me to take care of you, I won’t. I’ll be very clear with my punishments."
Loki looked at Nathan while raising one finger, "Shouldn’t it be, ’I’ll be very clear with my rewards and punishments?’ not just punishments?"
"You personally should know why I say that. I’m not planning to play around with you. You can create your own reward by creating amusements for yourself, but if that amusement harms anyone here, the punishment will be clear. Don’t expect me to show any mercy." Nathan snorted.
Loki looked away. He had definitely never been treated this way before.
"It’s quite amusing. You sounded angry, just like Thor with his anger issues. At the same time, you are not as kind as Odin."
"I don’t intend to." Nathan shook his head. Since Loki had signed the Soul Contract, he could trust him a bit. Of course, out of a scale of 100, his trust in Loki was -90.
Nathan crossed his arms. "All right. I know that you have met the gods and other things. However, I need to know everything. You seem to be someone who knows a lot more than other gods, most likely having some sort of relationship with Nyarlathotep. So, speak."
Loki suddenly thought of something. "How about I do you one better? I will let you see it yourself."
A wooden wand began forming in his hand. Loki spun it twice and said, "Welcome to the past."
Suddenly, the scenery completely changed. Everyone had been pulled into the illusion as twelve people remained, while the rest of the familiars turned into spheres and floated around them.
More importantly, a lot of them suddenly started because Nathan wasn’t there. Instead, there was another peerless beauty with long black hair.
Her demeanor was different from Selena’s because she looked calm and collected, a bit cold. His body was comparable to that of Evelyn or Flora, but the others could feel some inferiority when they saw her.
This woman was none other than Nathan.
