Chapter 1518: Chapter 1508: Operation

"Hello? Who is it?" Jiang Cheng woke up groggy from his sleep and asked.

"Jiang Cheng, Jiang Cheng! It’s Mu Yu! Something bad happened! All those people we arrested in connection with the Mo Xiao case suddenly exploded and died today!" On the other end of the line came Mu Yu’s rapid, panicked voice.

"What? Their bodies exploded and they died?" Jiang Cheng was so shocked by the news that cold sweat broke out all over him. On one hand, he was horrified by the terror of so many people suddenly exploding and dying all at once; on the other, he was shaken by the fact that the Mo Xiao side would actually kill all these people just to stop them from leaking their secrets.

"Don’t panic yet. This has to be the work of Mo Xiao. They’re afraid these people will confess and give them up, so they’re killing them to silence them and destroy the bodies." Jiang Cheng said calmly to Mu Yu.

"Then what do we do now? The whole place is a complete mess because of this." Mu Yu anxiously asked Jiang Cheng.

"Calm down first. Wait till I get there." Jiang Cheng hung up, hurriedly threw some things together, put on his clothes, and rushed out the door.

After leaving the house, Jiang Cheng headed straight for the detention center at full speed. From Mu Yu’s tone, this was a matter of life and death; there was no room for carelessness.

Not long after, Jiang Cheng arrived at the detention center in a rush. Inside, Mu Yu and a group of team members were standing there, staring at the blood all over the floor. The scene was extremely horrific.

Because they had to preserve the scene, no one had been allowed in to clean up yet. Seeing Jiang Cheng arrive, Mu Yu strode over and spoke to him.

"Good. If the scene got destroyed, we wouldn’t have any clues left to follow." Jiang Cheng gave Mu Yu a brief nod of approval, then went straight to the crime scene.

Looking at the blood everywhere, even someone like Jiang Cheng, who had traveled far and seen a lot, couldn’t help the chill that ran through him. "Tsk tsk tsk tsk... This is insane." Jiang Cheng couldn’t help but sigh.

Wearing a mask, Mu Yu walked over to Jiang Cheng and said, "Except for that kid’s mother, all the suspects involved with Mo Xiao suddenly exploded. The time was about an hour ago." After reporting the situation to Jiang Cheng, Mu Yu frowned and pressed a hand over his own mouth.

Jiang Cheng pulled on gloves, slowly crouched down, and examined the ground carefully, trying to see if he could find the slightest clue.

Suddenly, in a pool of blood, he spotted an inconspicuous little object. He picked it up, wiped the blood off, and realized it was a small metal ball—looked like something from an explosive.

"Just as I expected. The people from the Ink Owl Organization saw that these people were no longer useful to them, and they were afraid they’d spill important information, so they killed them to shut them up." Jiang Cheng quickly analyzed, explaining to Mu Yu who was standing not far away.

"So ruthless." Mu Yu said.

"Ruthless or not, that’s just how the Ink Owl Organization operates. Once you’re no longer useful, keeping you alive is a liability. A bunch of inhuman scum." Jiang Cheng muttered darkly.

Thinking of this, Jiang Cheng had Mu Yu call people in to clean up the scene. Since they had already found a lead, preserving the scene no longer served any purpose.

"Time for me to pay this Ink Owl Organization a visit." Jiang Cheng said.

He sat down at a computer and booted it up at high speed, trying to establish contact with the Ink Owl Organization. His fingers flew over the keyboard, inputting a string of code. A short while later, Jiang Cheng suddenly stopped his rapid typing.

"Ah! Finally breached it. Hmph, let’s see just how impressive this organization really is." Jiang Cheng muttered. He had hacked into the organization’s network and was trying to make contact with Mo Xiao.

Before long, Jiang Cheng tunneled deeper into the organization’s network and quickly established a connection with Mo Xiao as well.

Jiang Cheng’s lips curled slightly. This organization’s network security system was just like the West District’s network security system—pathetically fragile. A few simple moves and he was already in.

A few minutes later, Jiang Cheng suddenly froze. "Got through!" he said, then quickly put on his headset, listening intently to whatever came from the other side.

"Keke, kid, if I’m not mistaken, you’re also the one who hacked into the West District network, right? I’m telling you, we’ve already started our operation. You’d better get ready to die." A deep, resonant voice came through the line, clearly that of a middle-aged man.

"Not bad, you’re pretty sharp. Yeah, it was me. And your network security is about the same as theirs—paper-thin." Jiang Cheng replied indifferently.

Die? In this world, he had no idea how many people wanted him, Jiang Cheng, dead. Who the hell did this guy think he was?

"Don’t get too full of yourself! We’ve already traced your location! Once we find you, we’ll see how long you can keep running your mouth!" The man on the other end sounded a bit rattled, his voice growing louder.

"All right then, come kill me. Let’s see if you’ve actually got what it takes." Jiang Cheng said with a hint of mockery, deliberately trying to provoke Mo Xiao.

The connection was cut off.

"Ha, kill me? Try finding my real location first." Just thinking about how the address they traced was one he’d set up himself made Jiang Cheng want to laugh.

On the Ink Owl Organization’s side, after the middle-aged man ended the call with Jiang Cheng, he slowly walked over to the phone.

"Hey! Get in here. I’ve got an important assignment." With that, the middle-aged man slammed the phone down in anger.

Not long after, a tall man dressed in a tight black outfit, leather pants, and leather shoes walked in. "Boss, you wanted to see me?" the tall man asked.

...

"This guy—I don’t want him alive. At any cost, find someone to kill him." The middle-aged man handed over a file folder as he spoke. "Boss, you mean...?" The tall man asked, a bit hesitantly.

"We’ll use K." The middle-aged man clenched his fist and said.

The tall man was momentarily stunned by his words. "Understood. I’ll arrange it right away." With that, he left the room.

"Hmph, I’d like to see just how capable you really are." Boss Mo Xiao muttered under his breath.

On Jiang Cheng’s side, he had already guessed most of what was happening with Mo Xiao. Since they believed they’d locked down his real location, they would definitely send a killer after him. However—

"Ha ha ha, that’s assuming you can actually find me." The thought made Jiang Cheng laugh out loud. Mu Yu, watching him from the side, felt he was acting extremely strange and couldn’t figure him out.

"What are you laughing at? You look deranged." Mu Yu asked Jiang Cheng curiously.

"Nothing, nothing, it’s nothing." Jiang Cheng didn’t want to tell him and walked out alone.

In Boss Mo Xiao’s office, the boss picked up his phone and dialed a number.

"Listen, the same guy who hacked into your network system invaded ours today too, and he even made contact with me. I’ve already put the operation in motion. From here on out, leave it to me. I’ll make sure this man disappears from the face of the earth."

With that, Boss Mo Xiao was about to hang up.

"Hold on. We’ve crossed paths with this guy before—he’s not some ordinary person. I advise you not to act rashly. Wait until we’re fully prepared, then we move together. It’ll be safer." The voice on the other end said. "Safe? What’s unsafe about it? You think I can’t handle some snot-nosed punk? Enough. I’ve already set the hit in motion. Just wait for my good news." Boss Mo Xiao replied, his tone dripping with contempt.
