Chapter 2397: Chapter 2398: Practice

Borrowing the Sword Intent from Wang Hao’s cave, Lin Chen’s own improvement was extremely rapid, and he initially thought that his foundation was already solid.

However, after this experience, he realized there is no best, only better.

In this short time, Lin Chen gained a deeper understanding of the sword. He also understood where the gap between him and Wang Hao lay.

Like Lin Chen, even if he used his Tianyan Ancient Sword now, employing the same moves and strength, he might not be a match for Wang Hao. Even using the sword, Lin Chen’s sword skills were far inferior to Wang Hao’s, which was a matter of understanding Sword Intent.

But now that Lin Chen understood this point, it wasn’t too late either. Through the enlightenment here, although Lin Chen hadn’t made much progress in the control of Sword Qi, his understanding of Sword Intent had increased significantly.

It can be said that now, even if Lin Chen does not use the sword techniques Wang Hao just taught him, but uses the previously learned techniques, his strength has seen a rapid advancement.

"Still unable to handle it with ease, not as good as Master."

Only after a long time did Lin Chen slowly open his eyes, his head slightly lowered, sweeping his right hand with faint silver light, his gaze carrying a hint of helplessness.

After a long while, he stood up, walked to the last sword mark, and gently caressed the mark with his finger.

Within that sword mark, there was a stark difference compared to the Sword Intent Lin Chen emitted.

The Spiritual Energy Lin Chen wielded earlier cut through the rock quickly, but Wang Hao’s stroke was different. It weaved through the crevices, transforming into another move just as it was about to break the rock. If the previous move was a chop, in the next instant, it turned into an upward slash.

So, although this sword mark seemed shallow, it actually contained the basic essence of Wang Hao’s swordsmanship.

No wonder the rocks in that place were stubbornly carved out with a depression. To use such foundational sword skills so freely speaks volumes about the hardships behind it.

"Looks like there’s still a lot to learn."

After caressing the sword mark, Lin Chen whispered softly, his expression serious.

In the original world, he was a sword master, but upon arriving here, witnessing such sword moves and Sword Intent, Lin Chen couldn’t help but feel admiration.

Even though this place was imbued with Spiritual Energy, entirely different from the Earth where Lin Chen used to live, there was still common ground on the fundamentals of the sword.

Lin Chen couldn’t help but admire.

Soon after, Lin Chen gently rubbed his forehead. In the recent simulation of Sword Intent, his mind had also sustained some damage, which was why Lin Chen dared not continue.

After all, this kind of mental injury isn’t like physical wounds. If damaged, the trouble it brings is much more severe than physical wounds, as can be seen from the previous injuries of Chen Jie.

After feeling slightly better, Lin Chen exhaled deeply and walked out of the dark cave towards the outside.

Since he could no longer simulate the Sword Intent, Lin Chen didn’t want to stay in the cave any longer. The pressure of the Sword Intent inside was overwhelming, making Lin Chen slightly uncomfortable, so it was better to exit and relax a bit outside.

Outside the cave, the Milky Way was resplendent, a sky full of stars clustered around a crescent moon, together casting a silvery light over the landscape below.

Lin Chen greedily inhaled the air, savoring the serenity of the night, feeling a lightness and ease.

This was a rare pleasure.

For Lin Chen, such moments were precious. Ever since arriving in the Mystical World, it was always training, always struggling on the edge of life and death, with little time to leisurely appreciate such night scenes.

It’s just a pity that though the night is beautiful, no beauty accompanies him.

Taking a few steps forward, Lin Chen reached a spot.

There stood a towering ancient tree, lush and leafy, rising like a barrier, blocking out the chill and brightness of the night.

Lin Chen tapped gently on the ground, his feet floating upwards, like a great peng spreading its wings, quickly flying to the top of the ancient tree.

Lin Chen sat among the branches and leaves of the ancient tree, lazily raising his head to gaze at the crescent moon.

He remained motionless for a long time, like a statue, with only the slight sound of breath escaping his nostrils giving life to him.

In this leisurely spectacle, Lin Chen’s consciousness seemed to recover rapidly. Perhaps because of the relaxation, or perhaps because Lin Chen’s body was inherently strong.

After who knows how long, Lin Chen slowly stood up, then gradually closed his eyes, sinking his consciousness into his Dantian, where the Spiritual Energy was polarized into two extremes.

One was as clear as water, the other as dark as night.

Lin Chen ignored the dark side and focused his entire consciousness on the clear Spiritual Energy.

The four Spirit Pills, as Lin Chen’s consciousness invaded, seemed to be drawn, moving involuntarily. Streams of Spiritual Energy flowed inside Lin Chen’s Dantian, gathering along Lin Chen’s meridians, heading towards his right arm.

Though he could not simulate the intense Sword Intent of Wang Hao in his mind again, the ample Spiritual Energy in his Dantian provided Lin Chen the opportunity to perform the sword techniques Wang Hao taught in the afternoon.

He exhaled a long breath, as the breath filled the air, Lin Chen raised his hand. The raised right hand gathered a potent force, converging on the arm.

These waves of Spiritual Energy roamed along his meridians, splitting into two streams in Lin Chen’s arm. Like in the afternoon, as they traversed Lin Chen’s meridians, they clashed, the surging force accumulating in Lin Chen’s arm.

When the two streams of Spiritual Energy collided, some strands surged out from the two streams.

Lin Chen was neither alarmed nor fearful, for he knew clearly why this Spiritual Energy surged out. But now that Lin Chen had the explanation from Wang Hao previously, he did not disregard this Spiritual Energy as useless.

He divided a thread of consciousness, guiding this Spiritual Energy to circulate more swiftly within his meridians, abruptly halting at Lin Chen’s elbow.

They gathered there, forming a barrier of sorts, quietly awaiting the arrival of those two surging streams of energy.
