Chapter 594: Hello, I am Lin Chu

Lin Chu nodded, letting out a long, internal sigh.

‘This is… so bizarre.’

“I’m going to use the restroom. We can head out after that. I have a company meeting in half an hour.”

“Once you get home, please check with your family. If they agree, I’ll send the job offer over immediately. Is that okay?”

‘Just need to stabilize the situation, then I can slip away.’

Hearing this, Misha’s eyes showed a hint of reluctance to part, but she still nodded lightly. “Can I have your contact information? I’d like to chat with you whenever you have time.”

Tsk.

‘What a “humble” request.’

Lin Chu stood up. “Of course.”

He took out his phone and gave her his number, but she still wasn’t satisfied. Blushing, she asked to add him on WeChat… which she had even downloaded in advance!

‘What a headache.’

When Lin Chu came out of the restroom, he saw Misha already chatting with Rashid and his wife, her expression perfectly normal. Her every word and gesture was poised and graceful; she didn’t seem the least bit out of the ordinary.

“So, how did your chat go?”

“Was it love at first sight?”

“I say you should get married right here, right now!”

Rashid said, ever the pot-stirrer. Lin Chu couldn’t help but make a motion to kick him, then noticed the girl’s face had turned red again as she lowered her head deeply.

“Ahem… I have a meeting soon, so I need to get going.”

Lin Chu said, keeping his expression neutral.

“Alright, I’ll walk you out.”

Rashid said at once, then added with a teasing smile, “Go on, give her a hug. It’s a Western custom. Here’s to your next wonderful meeting.”

Misha froze on the spot. She glanced at Lin Chu, only to snap her gaze away as if she’d been zapped by an electric shock.

Beside her, Rashid’s wife was all smiles, clearly showing her approval.

Lin Chu was quite exasperated with this couple, but he didn’t let it show. He opened his arms, gave Misha a light hug, patted her on the back twice, and promptly turned to leave.

He started walking toward the door with Rashid.

“So? Are you smitten? I was tempted to eavesdrop on you two from outside the door, but my noble character prevailed.”

Rashid eagerly awaited Lin Chu’s feedback, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.

“I’m a little interested, but I’ll need some time.”

Lin Chu just shook his head and smiled, giving a noncommittal reply. Inwardly, however, he was thinking, ‘If I get the chance, I should really find an excuse to take her to a hospital. Get her head checked and see if there’s actually something wrong with her. I’ve heard that many conditions associated with genius, like Asperger’s syndrome, can manifest as behavior that deviates from the norm.’

‘Of course, something that could tarnish the dignity of the royal family would have to be done in secret.’

“Just a little? You cold-hearted man. Can’t you tell? Misha is really, *really* into you.”

Rashid, finding that answer less than satisfying, retorted with a grin.

“Do you believe in love at first sight?”

Lin Chu retorted with a smile.

Rashid said, “Of course. Women fall for me at first sight all the time. So many of them, from home and abroad… at least a few dozen, I’d say. From the very first moment we meet, they all start pursuing me like crazy.”

Huh?

Lin Chu couldn’t help but reach out to feel his forehead. “Are you sick? When does this happen?”

Rashid swatted Lin Chu’s hand away, rubbed his nose, and replied with a grin, “Whenever I’m wearing my white thobe and Kufiya.”

Lin Chu rolled his eyes at him but couldn’t help laughing out loud.

‘No shit!’

‘A cloth on your head makes you the richest man on earth. No wonder women get all woozy looking at you!’

“Well, I don’t have a white robe or a headscarf. Besides, I doubt she likes me for any of those things. It’s probably just my handsome face, don’t you think? Of course, that’s a privilege you’ll never get to experience in this lifetime.”

Lin Chu shot back with a grin.

Rashid froze for a second. When he recovered, he gave an exaggerated, pained smile. “No way. I don’t even think you’re *that* good-looking… Chu, you must have some kind of mysterious Eastern power. Teach me your ways!”

Lin Chu didn’t answer, simply waving a hand as he got into the car.

Gazing at the reflection of his own handsome face in the car window, he was struck by an indescribable sense of absurdity.

‘Damn, all this is about to make my ego explode!’
