Supreme Sword Exalt
Chapter 463 - So You’re the One Who Yelled 'Bring Me My Brush'?
Gu Han’s aura surged instantly, and he swung his sword onto the floor tiles. Immortal light flowed past, and a fierce rebounding force transmitted over. His sword bounced back heavily, and he was sent back a few steps.
Feeling his numb right hand, Gu Han marveled inwardly, It’s so hard!
With Mei Yun around, he only dared to use half of his cultivation. Moreover, without the Indestructible Sword Physique, even an ordinary ninth-stage Transcendent cultivator would have died long ago. And yet, the floor was spotless.
That was when he understood that immortal light was simply impenetrable. Obviously, that meant the others couldn't dig through the floor either.
He exchanged a glance with Fatty, capturing the regret and heartache in the other’s eyes. What a shame. Such a massive fortune, gone!
Just then, sounds echoed overhead, like a muffled clap of thunder. In the distant mountain ranges, endless immortal light gathered. They quickly transformed into dozens of clusters of dense, luminous mist. Scattering in all directions, they hovered above the plaza.
Two clusters arrived near Gu Han’s group. As the mist flowed, one could faintly see things inside. They were all dao artifacts! Everyone then realized this was the reward for the first pass.
Being no strangers to such things, Xiao Yang and Hua Xing were extremely surprised.
“True items!”
“Looking at their radiances, they are at least of supreme grade!”
The two explained. In the Ancient Cang Realm, unless someone had exceptionally deep foundations, even ordinary Saint realm cultivators only used true items. And if their spirit was sufficient, under the nourishment of the saint might, there was a slight chance they could evolve into saint items.
Recalling Chu Kuang’s dagger, Gu Han understood it as well. Although it had originally been an ordinary item, it became extraordinarily powerful after being nourished with saint might. Still, when it came to material, Chu Kuang’s dagger simply couldn’t compare to these true items.
For someone of Xiao Yang and Hua Xing’s stature, these things were only considered decent. For those of lower standings, they were already quite valuable. As for the five domains’ locals, they were the treasure among treasures, the kind that would make anyone who got one secretly grin.
In an instant, auras kept erupting one after another. Everyone made their moves to snatch the treasures. The somewhat calm situation shattered in an instant.
At that moment, several figures approached from afar, rushing toward the two clusters of luminous mist near Gu Han. Due to the distance, Mei Yun’s ability couldn’t affect them.
Suddenly, Fatty shouted furiously, “How dare you?!”
Enveloped in a golden light, he shot skyward, charging up all by himself. “Fu Yulin of the Central Continent is here! Who dares steal my treasures!”
His golden light expanded, transforming into a shimmering ancient bell that enveloped him as he charged straight toward those few.
Those few, who hailed from the Central Continent, trembled at the name. They instantly changed direction and ran away.
Gu Han was taken aback. Was that really necessary? They’re such cowards! You few are at the Transcendent realm too!
Yun Fan’s expression was strange. “Brother Gu, what they fear probably isn’t Brother Yulin’s strength, but his reputation.”
Gu Han was taken aback. Reputation? Since when did Fatty have any reputation?
Zhao Mengyou sneered. “Despicable, shameless Fatty.”
Xue Yu muttered quietly, “Thick-faced, black-hearted Heaven-Conquering Prince.”
Gu Han suddenly understood. No wonder Fatty had to announce his name earlier. The name Fu Yulin really does stink to high heaven in the Central Continent!
In midair, Fatty satisfiedly called out to everyone, “Come help! This restriction is a bit tough. Hurry up and break it so we can snatch others!”
Gu Han thought for a moment after seeing this. “You all stay here. I’ll look elsewhere.”
He soon left, rendering everyone speechless. Indeed, he’s the only one capable of being friends with Fatty!
They quietly shook their heads. Without any delay, they all rushed up to help Fatty break the restriction.
***
Gu Han didn’t leave because of the dao artifacts, but because of Feng Xi. Though he knew very little of Yun Tu’s matter, someone as powerful as Feng Xi went on a hunt for him for over a decade, but to no avail. That alone showed that this person’s ability and methods were certainly exceptional, hence Gu Han was a bit worried. Fatty was no longer of his concern, but everyone else’s!
This plaza was very large. Along the way, everywhere he looked, people were fighting over dao artifacts. Some were from the five domains, others from outside. Seemingly knowing that better things were yet to come, no one went for the kill. When they saw the situation was unfavorable, they just gave up the fight.
Just then, someone’s ruthless laughter came from overhead. “Hmph! With your meager cultivation, you can’t even break a restriction!”
Gu Han frowned slightly. He saw several young people hovering, retrieving a coldly gleaming sword from a cluster of mist. Though not as good as Sword Prince’s trusty companion, it was still a rare treasure. Over ten young people stood below, looking somewhat pale. They clenched their fists, obviously having lost to the other side.
Gu Han’s face lit up. “It’s you?”
They were all from the Great Flame Border Army.
He landed in front of those people below. Upon seeing Gu Han, the over ten people were first stunned, then overjoyed.
“V-Vanguard Gu!”
“Why are you here?!”
“Duh... Since you’re here, how could Vanguard Gu not be?”
“Hey, I’m just too excited!”
“Vanguard Gu, it’s been ten years since we last saw you. Where have you been?”
They immediately surrounded Gu Han, excitedly asking about his well-being. The sword went forgotten. Ten years without seeing each other, but Gu Han’s position in their hearts had never diminished.
Gu Han glanced upward. “You wanted that sword?”
The leading young man was a bit embarrassed. “Yeah... We just weren’t skilled enough. Didn’t win it from them, but it’s fine!”
Then, he grew excited again. “Seeing you again today beats any treasure!”
Gu Han smiled. To say he wasn’t happy would be a lie. Although he couldn’t even name these people, the fact that they had once fought side by side was enough. The feelings in the military were just that pure and simple.
He looked upward again and raised an eyebrow. “You look a bit familiar.”
The man holding the sword trembled, almost falling headfirst from above. The few beside him weren’t much better off.
Gu Han suddenly remembered. “Aah! It’s you!”
This sword-wielder was the one who yelled “Bring me my brush” earlier!
That man flashed over, handing the sword to the border army soldier without hesitation. “Look at you. With such low cultivation, how could you try to break the restriction by yourselves? How reckless! Lucky you ran into me, otherwise you’d exhaust yourselves to death! Here, take it...”
Gu Han didn’t forget to instruct the army, “Next time something like this happens, don’t be stubborn. Remember to call me!”
The group of Great Flame Border Army soldiers were completely dumbfounded.
