Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 466 - 465: That’s It?
Chapter 466: Chapter 465: That’s It?
On the glowing screen, her name was displayed for all to see!
[Holder of the Highest Score in the E-level Coliseum — Blacktiger Ford!]
[Record Status: Unbroken]
[Remark: This badass hasn’t shown up in D-level yet. We highly suspect she’s saving up for a big move.]
Seraphina Sinclair: "..."
The stands immediately erupted in discussion:
"The top-ranker is here?"
"The human top-ranker?"
"She’s the one who made the President fly into a rage last time?!"
"Shh! Keep it down! Do you want the President to hear you?"
"I don’t know, I just feel like she’s... different somehow."
"She is different... I remember the last time she was here, she wasn’t so..."
The speaker paused, seemingly deliberating what word to use.
"Intimidating," the person next to them chimed in. "She has an intimidating presence. She’s not even doing anything, just standing there, but my heart is pounding."
"Yes, yes! That’s exactly it! She definitely didn’t have this last time!"
The chatter in the stands grew louder, but everyone, without exception, kept their voices hushed as if they were afraid of being overheard.
Seraphina Sinclair stood in place, her gaze sweeping across the stands.
Those whose gazes met hers all averted their eyes, not daring to look directly at her.
Suddenly, a voice from somewhere in the crowd shouted, "Send in the top-ranker!" The cry was like a spark in a powder keg, and the stands instantly erupted.
"Send in the top-ranker!"
"Send in the top-ranker!"
"Send in the top-ranker!"
The chants grew louder and more synchronized until the entire Coliseum was submerged in the deafening, tsunami-like roar.
Seraphina Sinclair stood in place, listening to the shouts, her face expressionless.
’The last time I was here, these spectators looked at me with scorn and contempt. Now they’re all screaming for me to get in there, practically begging me to go fight to the death.’
’If it weren’t for the reward, I would never have come to this place.’
’Good thing I’m fighting monsters here. If it were humans...’
Seraphina Sinclair didn’t continue that line of thought, because the door in front of her suddenly opened.
The Coliseum’s operators had agreed to the audience’s request. She could now enter the arena.
Seraphina Sinclair didn’t rush out. Instead, she first gave the Gloom Hatchling a kick.
The Gloom Hatchling turned its head, its expression a little displeased, but it still obediently walked out.
Only then did the stands notice this little thing, and everyone immediately perked up:
"What’s that? A pet?"
"Wait! Wait! Am I seeing things? That’s a Gloomdrake, right? A juvenile Gloomdrake!"
As this shout rang out, the entire stands fell silent for a moment.
A timid voice piped up, "Is it really a Gloomdrake? Then doesn’t that mean this top-ranker is..."
"Extremes breed their own downfall. The brighter you shine, the faster you burn out. There’s some real truth to those human sayings."
"What a pity. I thought a new Demigod would rise from among the humans."
"Demigod? You think too highly of humans, don’t you?"
...
The moment Seraphina Sinclair walked out of the rest area, the voices from the stands became indistinct.
Standing before her was the first monster of this challenge—a D-level Bloodscorp Beast!
It was a full three meters long, covered in a thick, chitinous carapace. The surface of the shell was riddled with vicious protrusions and barbs that glinted with a greasy, dark sheen under the lights. Eight segmented limbs supported its heavy body, each leg covered in dense, stiff bristles that quivered with its every breath.
Its tail, a full two meters long, was arched high, the venomous stinger at its tip glinting with an eerie, green light.
A putrid stench washed over her.
Seraphina Sinclair frowned.
’This thing is disgusting.’
A transparent membrane separated them. Once the countdown finished, this membrane would disappear.
And now, the countdown had reached 4.

The instant the membrane vanished, the Bloodscorp Beast spat out a mouthful of venom it had been holding in reserve.
In mid-air, the venom atomized into a green mist that billowed toward Seraphina Sinclair, threatening to engulf her.
A wave of gasps arose from the stands.
The cloud of toxic mist was too large; there was nowhere to run!
But Seraphina Sinclair didn’t even move.
She simply took a rune from her Silver Moon Earrings and gently tore it. The D-level Moonlight Heart Protection Talisman materialized into a barrier of light, completely enveloping her.
The toxic mist slammed against the light barrier, making a SIZZLING, corrosive sound, but it couldn’t penetrate it in the slightest.
The Bloodscorp Beast’s eight compound eyes swiveled simultaneously, seemingly not expecting this human to have such a trick up her sleeve.
But it didn’t hesitate.
Its massive body charged forward at an unbelievable speed, its eight limbs pounding against the ground in a rapid CLATTER. Its tail whipped high, the venomous stinger aimed for Seraphina Sinclair’s throat as it stabbed down viciously!
Still, Seraphina Sinclair didn’t move. She just pulled the Gloom Hatchling in front of her as a shield.
The Gloom Hatchling: "???"
The Gloom Hatchling’s eyes instantly flew wide open, all sleepiness gone.
It looked back at Seraphina Sinclair in disbelief, its small eyes filled with an accusation that screamed, "Are you even human?"
Seraphina Sinclair returned its gaze, expressionless.
Her gaze clearly said: You’re the pet, aren’t you? Shouldn’t a pet take a blow for its owner?
The Gloom Hatchling was so angry its scales bristled.
But it had no time to protest, because the Bloodscorp Beast’s stinger had already arrived.
The eerie green glint shot straight for the Gloom Hatchling’s head, carrying enough force to pierce steel and a poison lethal upon contact.
A collective gasp was heard from the stands.
"Is that human insane? Using a Gloomdrake as a shield?!"
"If the Gloomdrake dies, does she think she’ll survive? The old Gloomdrake won’t let her off!"
"What are you all thinking? That’s a Gloomdrake! In front of a Gloomdrake, what’s a D-level Bloodscorp Beast?"
"No, but how can she be like this! A Bloodscorp Beast is so valuable, and she’s just going to let this happen?!"
In the nick of time, the Gloom Hatchling moved.
The lazy little Gloom Hatchling, which could sleep twenty hours a day and wouldn’t even walk two extra steps, finally opened its sleepy eyes wide.
It opened its mouth, and a deep dragon’s roar rumbled from the depths of its throat, like an invisible hammer smashing into the Bloodscorp Beast’s mind.
The Bloodscorp Beast’s body froze abruptly.
The high-arched tail froze in mid-air, its stinger less than a foot from the Gloom Hatchling’s head.
The eerie green glint on the stinger still flickered, but it could no longer advance even an inch.
The Gloom Hatchling yawned, then stretched out a claw and swatted it gently.
"CRACK."
The two-meter-long scorpion tail broke at the sound.
Dark green blood spurted out, splashing all over the ground. The Bloodscorp Beast let out a shrill scream, its huge body crashed to the ground, and its eight limbs twitched frantically.
The Gloom Hatchling looked down at its own claw, then at the twitching Bloodscorp Beast on the ground, and then turned back to look at Seraphina Sinclair.
Its small eyes seemed to say, ’That’s all you got?’
The corner of Seraphina Sinclair’s mouth twitched.
