Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 477 - 476: The Powerful’s Reward
Chapter 477: Chapter 476: The Powerful’s Reward
As the box opened, a pale cyan light shone out from the crack.
Seraphina Sinclair squinted, waiting for the light to fade before she could see what was inside.
Surprisingly, the box contained only a single item.
It was a card, looking a lot like a Navigation Card, or perhaps some kind of certificate.
She frowned, took out the card, and used Insight.
[Champion’s Commendation]
[Description: A special item with no grade. Upon use, permanently unlocks one sealed title slot.]
[Note: Those who truly stand at the pinnacle of the world, do they not all bear countless titles and legends? Dragon Slayer, Conqueror of the Abyss, Pilgrim of a Thousand Worlds, The Immortal King... Behind every title lies an epic tale, one worthy of being told for a thousand years to come! And now, you are one of them.]
’Unlock a sealed title slot?’
’Weren’t those the two title slots that have been grayed out since I first entered this world?!’
’Champion’s Commendation... what a fitting name.’
Seraphina Sinclair read the somewhat overly long note again, but she had to admit, the last sentence truly lifted her spirits.
This item, much like the Legendary Equipment Lottery Ticket, was highly collectible, but no one who got one would ever choose to collect it.
Seraphina Sinclair was no exception.
[Use Successful!]
[Title Slot Unlocked!]
[Current Available Title Slots: 3/4]
Seraphina Sinclair re-equipped the Pioneer title she had just taken off.
’Come to think of it, it seems like whenever I unequip the Pioneer title, I get an item that adds a slot, letting me equip it again.’
Seraphina Sinclair dismissed it as a coincidence and lifted the lid of the other B-level Supply Box.
Inside were two items: a short knife inlaid with gold, silver, and jewels, and a bottle of liquid.
Seraphina Sinclair picked up the short knife first.
The blade wasn’t long, about two palm-lengths, and was silver-white. The hilt was inlaid with red, blue, and green gems that refracted a fine shimmer under the light.
The sheath was also exquisitely carved with intricate patterns, clearly an artisan’s piece.
But Seraphina Sinclair frowned after just one glance.
’This knife is too ornate. A true combat knife doesn’t need so many decorations.’
She used Insight.
[Splendid Short Knife (B-level)]
[Description: A short knife whose symbolic value far outweighs its practical use. The blade is forged from ordinary refined steel, and the edge is barely sharp. The inlaid gems, while pretty, serve no practical purpose.]
[Note: This is a work of art, not a weapon. If you give it to a connoisseur, they might be very pleased. But if you take it onto the battlefield, good luck.]
Seraphina Sinclair fell silent.
’How could there be something like this in a Supply Box? And from a B-level Supply Box, no less!’
’Is this just here to fill up the numbers?’
Although Seraphina Sinclair couldn’t comprehend the item’s value, she still stored it away carefully in her Silver Moon Earrings.
’What if it becomes useful later? It came from a B-level Supply Box, how could I just throw it away?’
As for the bottle of liquid...
At first, Seraphina Sinclair thought it was a material for rune painting, but after reading the description, she realized it was compatible with Star Meteorite Iron.
[Starlight Body Tempering Liquid (B-level)]
[Description: An extremely rare tempering liquid, said to be collected from meteorite impact sites and containing the Power of Stars. It is specifically used to process extraterrestrial materials like Star Meteorite Iron, greatly increasing the material’s performance ceiling and improving the success rate of forging. When used with Star Meteorite Iron, it allows forged armor to gain the additional Starlight trait, which provides a chance to trigger Star’s Blessing when attacked, reducing damage.]
[Note: Stars fell to the earth and became iron. But their light remained in this liquid. When iron and light are reunited, a miracle will occur.]
Seraphina Sinclair’s eyebrows rose as she read the description.
She had just been wondering if she could give the Star Meteorite Iron to Little Mushroom. Now, with this liquid, she could rest assured.
Little Mushroom was quite skilled. Last time, it said its research on the Ebony Rune Parchment was almost complete. She wondered if it had finished making them yet.
Just as Seraphina Sinclair was thinking this, she looked up and saw a Lightgate appear in her mobile cabin.
For a long while, nothing came out of the Lightgate.
It felt as if someone had come to visit but was too socially anxious to enter, needing to first confirm if anyone else was home.
Seraphina Sinclair waited patiently for a moment, and sure enough, a cautious little mushroom cap peeked out.
Two feeler-like tendrils twitched slightly, as if sensing the surrounding atmosphere.
Its little eyes met Seraphina Sinclair’s gaze, then Luna Jacobs’s, and even the Gloom Hatchling’s, which was nestled in Luna Jacobs’s arms having its face squished with an expression of utter resignation.
The mushroom cap’s tendrils trembled more violently.
It retracted.
Two seconds later, it peeked out again.
This time, it only came out halfway, revealing one round eye that cautiously scanned every inch of the room.
Seraphina Sinclair: "..."
’It seems this Little Mushroom’s social anxiety has gotten even worse.’
"Come in," she said. "There’s no one else."
Once she spoke, Little Mushroom scurried out of the Lightgate as if it had received an imperial edict.
It looked the same as always: a round, plump cap, a slender stem, and two stubby little arms. It hopped and bounced as it walked. It bounced over to Seraphina Sinclair, tilted its cap up, and blinked its two eyes at her before slowly pulling a stack of something from behind its back.
It was rune paper.
The paper had an ebony base, with complex patterns engraved on it in silver lines.
"My lady, here are twenty sheets, made from one portion of Cloud Spirit Silk! And this production method is quite stable. As long as you can provide enough materials, my lady, I can mass-produce them for you!"
Seraphina Sinclair took the stack of rune paper.
Twenty sheets, perfectly neat, each one emitting a faint fluctuation of energy. The silver lines seemed to flow slowly across the ebony surface of the rune paper.
She used Insight.
[Ebony Rune Parchment (C-level)]
[Description: Rune paper meticulously crafted by Little Mushroom. It uses ebony wood pulp as a base, mixed with a trace amount of black mist energy, and can bear C-level and higher runes.]
[Note: A great craftsman has realized its worth at this very moment!]
’It can bear C-level and higher runes!’
That sentence in the description finally set Seraphina Sinclair’s mind completely at ease.
’Of the people under my command—the chef, the craftsman, the Traveling Merchant, the Engraving Master—not a single one is unskilled. They are all leaders in their respective fields.’
Seraphina Sinclair looked at the Little Mushroom before her, which had its cap tilted up, eagerly awaiting praise. The corners of her mouth lifted slightly. "Well done."
The two words were spoken lightly.
But when Little Mushroom heard them, its cap instantly flushed a distinct shade of pink, the color spreading from the edge to the very top, like a cloud tinted by the morning glow.
It wrung its stubby little hands, fidgeting for two seconds before reaching behind its back to rummage for something else.
