Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches
Chapter 143 He Is Not Him
"Aaaaaah—Help me! Help me!"
The scorching flames had made him somewhat delirious. He didn’t know how the flames had suddenly appeared; hadn’t he just been grabbing that woman?
While the male ghosts were still watching their companion, Lin Yun turned and ran away.
It didn’t matter if she couldn’t defeat these ghosts. She would find their physical bodies!
As the blue flames burned, good news about the Ghost Vine came to Lin Yun’s mind.
It had found the body of one of the male ghosts, lashed him with several vines, and sent him on his way.
"You bunch of useless trash! Why won’t you save me!"
"You won’t save me? Fine, then let’s die together!"
Seeing that none of his companions would save him, the male ghost instantly became enraged. Forgetting their mission for the day, he charged straight at the other male ghosts.
"Are you crazy? Why aren’t you arresting that woman, but instead you’re coming after us? Are you sick in the head?!"
"Are you fucking brain-dead from being burned by the flames?! Save you? How? Are you going to sacrifice the rest of us just to save you?!"
But only then did the male ghosts realize that the woman had run away. She had vanished without a trace.
"It’s all your fault! You’re more trouble than you’re worth. If it weren’t for you, would she have been able to escape?"
"Alright, stop arguing and hurry up and search. She can’t have escaped from here."
"Yes, hurry up and find her. So what if she’s dead? We can just have Yao Niang bring another one up from down below. It’s no big deal!"
They ignored the male ghost being consumed by the blue flames, leaving him to fend for himself, and went to find Lin Yun again.
Then, another male ghost burst into flames.
At this moment, they realized that the reason they were covered in blue flames was because their physical bodies had been damaged!
How on earth had that woman found their physical bodies?
Several male ghosts hurriedly ran toward their physical bodies, fearing that the woman might destroy them in her madness.
But Lin Yun was much faster than them.
Before they could be completely engulfed by the blue flames, Lin Yun’s vision changed again.
She returned to the room she had just been in.
They even bumped into Qingqing, who was rushing toward them.
The ferocious and terrifying Qingqing startled Lin Yun again, and she flew up and kicked her.
"Sister Lin! Sister! My dear sister! You’ve finally come to save me!"
Song Xizheng grabbed Lin Yun’s leg and sat on the ground, wailing.
He’d been haunted by this female ghost for ages, and no matter what he tried, he couldn’t kill her. She had even torn at him a couple of times, and he had almost lost his innocence!
What’s even more disheartening was that despite the commotion they were making, the three people next door seemed to have vanished. No one heard them or came to help him!
Lin Yun glanced down at him again and saw that Song Xizheng’s clothes were disheveled, making him look like a bullied little girl.
She paused for a moment, then suddenly shuddered and kicked Qingqing away as she tried to pounce on her.
"It feels so good to be able to kick someone," she exclaimed.
Who could understand the helplessness of not being able to fight back in that mass grave?
The Ghost Vine extended a tendril and bound Qingqing tightly.
Qingqing’s originally fierce expression immediately changed after she was tied up.
It was a physical transformation.
Her originally bloodied and mangled face suddenly changed; she transformed it into Lin Yun’s face.
"Young master! Help me! She’s trying to kill me!"
Qingqing looked at Song Xizheng, who was on the verge of tears, looking pitiful, and even secretly flirted with him.
Song Xizheng glanced at Qingqing, then looked up at Lin Yun, and suddenly shuddered.
Holy crap?! They could just change her face like that? Of all people, why did they have to change it to Sister Lin? Wasn’t that killing him?
Lin Yun was also dumbfounded; she had never known her face could make such an expression.
"...Um, how about you get a new face? This one looks kind of weird, and I’m not used to it."
Her words infuriated Qingqing.
"Get out of here! You’re a vixen! What right do you have to steal my man? What right do you have?!"
Suddenly, Qingqing broke free of the vines, her clothes became tattered, and she attacked with her sharp claws.
The Ghost Vine lashed out instantly, sending Qingqing flying.
Just then, the door opened.
The Ghost Vine was startled and quickly shrank back into Lin Yun’s body, afraid of being discovered.
A figure burst in from outside, grabbed Qingqing by the neck, lifted her up, and said, word by word, "Who told you to touch him?"
Qingqing looked at Xiaohe in horror, her hands uncontrollably trying to pry open Xiaohe’s hands that were choking her.
"Xiao, Sister He..."
The grip on her neck tightened.
"Aunt Yao... sent me here. No, it wasn’t me..."
Qingqing spoke haltingly, clearly terrified in front of Xiaohe.
Xiaohe snorted coldly and snapped Qingqing’s neck.
Qingqing fell from Xiaohe’s hands and crashed to the ground. Her eyes were still wide open, but they were lifeless.
Her face slowly returned to normal.
This happened so fast that Lin Yun and Song Xizheng didn’t even have time to react before it was over.
At this moment, Song Zhenzhen and the other two also came in from outside, with Xiong Qi dragging a person dressed in a blue dress in his arms.
"What is this?" Lin Yun looked at them in surprise, then looked at Xiaohe.
Song Zhenzhen ran over, pulled Song Xizheng away from Lin Yun, and explained, "Oh dear, this is all thanks to George."
"He talked to Xiaohe for a while and helped her understand."
"So that’s how it turned out."
Lin Yun hissed again. Good heavens, it felt like she had missed out on quite a lot.
Xiaohe turned around and walked toward Song Xizheng step by step.
George, fearing she would get stuck on this again, quickly stopped her, saying, "Didn’t I just tell you? Song Xizheng isn’t him!"
Xiaohe paused, glanced at Song Xizheng again, and thought, "Yes, he is not him."
He’s already dead.
"You can go now." Xiaohe took off the jade pendant from her waist and handed it to George. "Take this and you can leave the brothel."
"Leave? Where to go? All of you, stay here!"
Yao Niang led a large group of people in and rushed inside. Once there, Yao Niang stared at Xiaohe with a forced smile.
"Xiaohe, I’ve told you before, all men are no good. Look at what they’re saying. They’re just trying to fool you."
"It’s not that I’m criticizing you, but I’ve taken care of you for so many years. You can’t be a traitor, Xiaohe."
Xiaohe looked at Yao Niang in silence.
"What exactly did you say to him back then?"
Yao Niang covered her mouth with her handkerchief. "What can I say? Of course, I’ll ask when he’s coming to fetch you. But he already has a wife. How could he possibly fetch a courtesan like you?"
You lied to me!
"Why would I lie to you? You are the best student I have ever raised. Of course I want the best for you."
Lin Yun watched Xiaohe carefully, still trying to understand the relationship between the two women and the man they both mentioned.
Lin Yun did not dare slow down. Every time one of the ghosts reached for her, she immediately changed direction and kept moving. She understood now that brute force was useless against them. The only thing she could rely on was the physical body hidden somewhere in this strange space.
The thought of those bodies made the situation even more unsettling. These ghosts were clearly not ordinary living people, and the hint had confirmed that destroying their bodies was the key to passing. As long as she could locate them, there was still a chance.
Song Xizheng, meanwhile, had endured enough to feel as though he had aged several years. He had no idea where Lin Yun had gone, and the female ghost in front of him had been impossible to deal with. Seeing Lin Yun return, he immediately treated her like his last hope.
The moment Qingqing’s appearance changed again, Lin Yun could only stare. She had never imagined that someone could casually change their face into hers. Song Xizheng’s reaction was even more ridiculous, and despite the danger, she almost couldn’t understand how her own face had somehow become part of the ghost’s performance.
But there was no time to think about it for long. Qingqing’s sudden attack and Xiaohe’s arrival happened almost one after another, leaving everyone unable to react.
Now, with Qingqing lying motionless on the ground, the room had fallen silent again.
