“Sis, you’re here.”

Shu Xi led her team over from another direction and happened to see Lin Yun’s team stopped there.

Lin Yun nodded. “How’s the patrol going?”

“Sigh, I didn’t find anything. But I’m thinking of going to check on the prison. Do you want to come with me?”

Shu Xi smiled at Lin Yun. She liked her older sister Shu Nan very much, but Shu Nan had a bad temper and did not like her getting close. She did not know why her sister was willing to let her get close today, but it proved that she still liked her little sister, right?

Lin Yun was secretly delighted. This Shu Xi was really nice. She had been thinking about how to bring it up, and Shu Xi had brought it up first. She nodded coolly, waved to those behind her, and told them to follow. The giant rats behind did not react. The two teams joined together and followed the two sisters.

Hidden in the shadows, the elves watched the direction in which the giant rats had left.

“Aino, shall we go with them now?”

“No rush. Let’s wait a bit longer. If we go now, we’ll be caught. Let’s cause them some more trouble first.”

For some reason, Aino felt a sense of familiarity with that Shu Nan, but she could not quite put her finger on it.

Upon entering the giant rat tribe’s territory, the elves were surprised to find that no monsters were roaming there. Moreover, the lights here could be turned on at any time, and people could go out at any time. This puzzled the elves greatly. Aino also began to suspect that the giant rat tribe might have some connection to these monsters. Otherwise, why would those monsters not appear here?

Once Lin Yun and Shu Xi were out of sight, Aino quietly led the others away. They were going to stir up trouble again. The more chaotic things got, the easier it would be for them to sneak into the prison.

Sang Biao, who had been squatting even longer than they had, yawned. These elves really were cunning. No wonder they had walked Youyou around like a dog.

Lin Yun: “? Are you being polite?”

Sang Biao shook his head helplessly and quietly followed. He would go and join in the fun first, and then go back to find Lin Yun later.

The group arrived at the entrance to the prison. Lin Yun stopped abruptly. Shu Xi had mentioned it, but she had not seen anything there. Wasn’t this just an open space? Could there be some kind of trap here?

Seeing that Lin Yun made no move, Shu Xi was already used to it and took the initiative to step forward and open the mechanism.

Lin Yun: “…Okay, okay.”

She silently memorized the location. She would have to find a way to let Aino know later, since it would not be easy for her to take the imprisoned humans away on her own. She was already struggling enough with Dong Nian and Qi Zhu.

Click.

A section of the ground began to slowly move, revealing a staircase leading down.

“Sis, let’s go.” Shu Xi turned around and called out before walking down first.

Lin Yun followed, with the giant rats close behind. As she walked, she observed the surroundings and Shu Xi’s movements. In case there were any switches inside that she did not know about and she did not know how to use them later, she would be in big trouble. Fortunately, there were no traps or mechanisms in the prison, and they made their way to their destination without problems.

“How is the situation?” Shu Xi asked Shu Ba, who was guarding the place.

“Don’t worry, Miss Shu Xi. Even the mechanism up top hasn’t been opened. Nobody knows about it except us.”

Shu Xi nodded. “Okay. My sister and I will go in and patrol for a bit.”

“Okay, sure.”

Since Shu Xi said she was there on patrol, Shu Ba naturally did not dare to stop her. He quickly took the key off his waist and handed it to Shu Xi. Shu Xi eagerly handed the key to Shu Nan. “Sis, here you go!”

Lin Yun did not refuse. Since Shu Xi had offered it herself, she was not forcing her. She took the keys and walked straight ahead. Shu Ba quickly stepped aside to let them pass.

With the key, they could travel freely without obstacles. However, there were a lot of keys, and Lin Yun had trouble figuring out which key went with which lock.

“Pfft, sis, you can’t tell these keys apart either?”

Seeing that the front door remained closed, Shu Xi approached and whispered, “I can’t tell them apart either. These keys all look the same, so they’re hard to find. It’s all Father’s fault for making them like this.”

Lin Yun glanced at the corner of her mouth, startling Shu Xi, who thought Lin Yun had discovered something wrong.

“Have that guy come over and open the door. There are… a lot of keys.” She was genuinely getting a headache over the keys. No, she needed to figure out how to memorize which lock each key matched.

Shu Xi had no objection. Opening these doors was indeed troublesome. She had experienced it before and had almost cried from frustration.

While Shu Xi went to find Shu Ba, Lin Yun frantically shouted “System!” in her mind.

“Damn it! Could you please turn on the recording function for me? I’m not available right now.”

[Okay, recording has started.]

The system was quite effective in these matters.

Shu Ba had just arrived, and the system transferred the recorded data to Lin Yun, so there was no need to worry about moving it. Shu Ba called out to Miss Shu Nan, then picked up the keys and started working. He had always been in charge of the prison and knew these keys like the back of his hand, so he quickly opened the door.

“System, which one is Dong Nian and which one is Qi Zhu?”

[Qi Zhu is in the eighth cell on the left. Dong Nian is in a cell on the second basement level.]

Lin Yun was speechless. Why did they have to build two floors for a dungeon? Were these giant rats just bored?

[After you go down the stairs, it’s the third cell on your right.] The system directly told Lin Yun the locations of the two cells.

Lin Yun responded and discreetly observed the people in the cells.

“Only two survivors are imprisoned here? The rest are all humans?”

[Yes, there are only two survivors here. The others are from other races. They’ve removed their physical features to make them look human.]

[I’ve marked it for you, but our mission tonight is Dong Nian and Qi Zhu. Whether the humans leave or not is none of our business, so don’t meddle.]

“…I’m not that kind of person, and I can’t control that anyway. Let Aino handle it.”

After walking around the dungeon, Shu Xi decided to leave. She was only conducting her usual patrol.

“Sis, let’s go out. It’s perfectly safe here.”

Lin Yun nodded. The system had already recorded which key matched each lock for her. She would find an excuse to come back down later, but how could she shake off the giant rats behind her?

The group left the prison quickly. As soon as Lin Yun came up from below, she spotted Sang Biao in the shadows. Before she could even signal him, a giant rat tribesman came running up, shouting as he ran:

“Miss Shu Nan, Miss Shu Xi, something terrible has happened! Something has happened at the clan hall!”
